1. Question...what makes the communities of Sour Lake (HJ), Silsbee, and Houston (Yates) any different? I think that ST was correct when he spoke of the respect factors with the past Memorial coaches versus the Lincoln coaches.  David Green is a heck of a coach, but I think he caught the program at the WRONG time, which was the beginning of the consolidation.  The merger was NOT WANTED, and he had to deal with THAT element..He was not used to the turmoil that took place because of it, which affected his program ultimately, but, strangely enough he managed to have some degree of success anyway...Terrul Henderson was not a bad fit, he just had other things on his plate other than PA Memorial basketball (AAU team in Houston) which hindered his potential success..I cannot speak on the current coach (Travis Williams), though I know him very well, Its midway through year one...nothing to assess...There are certain jobs that just ANY coach cannot come into and do well....Fort Worth Dunbar...Houston Wheatley...Hardin Jefferson (due to tradition)...Beaumont Ozen.....and PORT ARTHUR MEMORIAL...there are SEVERAL factors that play into this statement...1)type of community, 2)type of kids, 3)EXPECTATIONS, 4)level of pressure applied from fans to administration
This applies to Ozen more than it does to Central....
I seriously doubt that.  ;) ;)
It's sooooooo bad that I asked my son if he would be upset if I didn't go to the games, it has been very depressing to say the least......
If your Son is an Ozen player, he is definatly on the right side of the stick as far as coaching goes.  Now talent?  I don't know.
Ozen has talent. Whether they have continuity or not, I don't know.
THIS YEAR, Ozen have less talent than Central, as it have shown on the court.  But I do continue to say that Ozen's staff is a little better than Central's.
IMO they rank the same as far as the head coach goes but I do feel that Ozen has a better staff of assistant coaches (at least 2 of them)....now if we could just combine all of that with the talent we do have it would be a different story lol
Better staff of ASSISTANT coaches?? :o....What determines that in your opinion? Central will get them at Central....This game is usually an emotional one, but as AAW called it last night, its the "undercard" game these days, sadly enough.  Its unreal, how both of those programs have changed over the last 3 or 4 years.
 5. The TABC rankings are split between a committee and the regional directors in each classification (coaches) get a vote..Normally the region 3 coaches rep is from Houston, and not likely to see Nederland play, unless they come into Houston and are winning big..THIS IS the actual reason in a nutshell.
 6. Nederland cannot compete with 80% of those bottom 15 head to head....Thats why...They are good HERE...Nederland does not have true marquee player, and would probably lose badly to the top 10 4A squads....NOT THAT THEY DONT BELONG THERE, because they probably do, I am just speaking from a TABC perspective....
 7. Soulja, NOT THE CASE....YOU LOSE money playing in neutral venues...even double and triple headers....You pack your hs gym your school keeps all revenue, minus officials...I would rather 100% of about 1500 than about 20% of 3000..Its better here in SETX..
 8. Running my mouth?  :o  Am I not allowed to SPEAK now? Soulja, LEAVE IT ALONE....YOU DONT WANNA PLAY BASKETBALL AT A NEUTRAL VENUE IN DISTRICT...Schools lose an INCREDIBLY large amount of money, ask Houston ISD....BAD IDEA.
 9. AAW tell LAZEEK that I will be sitting directly behind the HJ bench for Silsbee/HJ part II...I will arrive at 5:30, and I would like a complimentary program and a diet coke! 8) ;D
 10. Folks, do ya think LAZEEK is HOMER??? :o (listening to the webcast)...Silsbee beat HJ...buzzer beater or not, it was a SILSBEE WIN...If you had to rank them TODAY, you HAVE to rank Silsbee AHEAD of HJ..For NOW at least...dont ya think, guys? ???
 11. Thats just not going to happen....Nederland is just not THAT much better than the other teams in that district.  Coach English pulls the right triggers at the right times in crucial part of games (That is about as politically correct as it gets  ;)) which gives them an edge in THIS area, in THAT district.  8)
 12. I always knew you were OK AAW! No matter WHAT BLUEDOVE, Lazeek, PoppaBearStar and Stevenash say about you, you are alright with me!! ;D ;D
 13.
In all honesty, and not trying to be offensive, but who really cares what your karma is?  I never even look at mine. To quote John Wooden, "'Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, Because your characater is what you REALLY are, While your reputation is merely what others THINK you are"
On this site, that quote is PERFECT for me!  8)  Great statement! ;)...Really in all fairness, I used to start trouble on here years ago just to get under some guys skin, and when they met me in person, I would ALWAYS hear, "you are so much nicer than your screen personality!"... 8)..Which is why I KNOW, some of these guys are mashing the MINUS BUTTON on me for nothing these days!! Its OK...Maybe they will get to know THE REAL ME, this time around... ;)
