1. I believe this is the wrong forum to display your hatred towards the President, nash.. ::) ::)
 2.
Believe it or not, there is a position located between "highly" and "lowly"(when it comes to self perception) and you might find it an attractive position to embrace.
I do realize that some of you "old fashioned" thinkers may want a person of my "persuasion" to be meek and mild, but I'm just not that guy...I know who I am, I know what I am worth, and no one will tell me different. I am at the top of the food chain, as far as my family, career, knowledge, and wealth go, (Praise God) and some folks just cannot get used to that fact. Not my problem... ;)..Now...lets get back on topic!! ;)

I have better things to do with my time and energy then to "hate on" and "envy" you.
Am I supposed to think "lowly" of myself? ::) ::)....Get back on topic!!
Yeah, but aren't sell out crowds a part of the luster of that game? Playing in a half empty Ford Park, just makes that game totally lose its crowd appeal...Don't you think? I would go back to home and home OR play on an alternate night at a high school gym like Ozen or Westbrook, that can hold a few more people, yet still hold its appeal.

 8. Cleverness recognizes cleverness... ;)....just taking a page from YOUR playbook!
 9. Envy is best defined as a resentful emotion that occurs when a person lacks another's superior qualities, achievements, or possessions, and wishes that the other lacked it.
 10. I honestly think its still a great rivalry in those respective communities, but AAW is right, it has been kind of one sided over the last few years.  Playing the games at Ford Arena has DEFINITELY hurt the atmosphere of it though. They should get back to home and home, and perhaps it will pick up again next season.
 11. BigCam 2903 (Whats up Big Fella!  8)) has JUST stated the EXACT same thing about MOST people on here NEVER understanding what it is to be a part of a real championship program, yet I get criticized for it, and Honest Abe cyber "high fives" him!  :o  Tell me I am not a TARGET on this forum!! That is EXACTLY what I have said all along...Most of you on here, JUST DONT GET IT, and since you have not (and probably never will) experience it, you will NEVER understand.....WOW.. ::)
 12. This is why we cannot relate...I have lowered my ego to converse with novice basketball fans, that really have no clue about the game...Yeah...thats it... ::) ::)...Give me a break, stevenash....
 13.
I am hopeful that you will learn this before you are about 75 years old.  Trying to tell a group of people (either directly or by less than discreet inference) that your knowledge and experience is so amazingly superior that they are not worthy of conversing with you is the wrong way to approach things.  The day will come (hopefully) when you will realize that there are a lot of smart people in this world and NOBODY has a lock on superior intelligence.  In my particular line of business, I have often been presented with a case (considerabaly more convincing than yours) that some individual is far superior to everyone else only to have the markets make a fool of him.  Humility can be a very attractive trait.
Humility has never been my issue....I am often a target on here because I refuse to bite my tongue on certain issues, and I will not let you people discredit what I or anybody affiliated with me has done in the basketball community....especially by people who quite honestly, do not know very much and are just rabid fans..I am being humble just conversing with some of you on here.....Thats all. 8)
 14.
Wasn't the forum nice while Dickie V was in hibernation. Every thread didn't turn into "The Dickie V knows everything, and everyone else is wrong" thread. I bet Kendrick Perkins, who according to Dickie V didnt have much basketball skill and was soft, sure is grateful that as fate would have it, he and Dickie V were brought together, so that Dickie V and Boutte with their godlike knowledge and ability could coach him right into the NBA.  ::)
First of all I ask that you not twist my words....I said thats what people who DO NOT know the game (as you people on here) were saying about him and he nor I NEVER forgot it...Its ok, I can be done with this thread, its gone on long enough...You people just do not know any better on here...It will never change. ::) ::)

Vidor beats Ozen = seniors vs. freshmen Nederland beats Ozen = Ozen on a down year and coaching sucks. PNG beats Lincoln = Lincoln player dismissed from team. Ozen wins state = Boutte is a god and it does not matter how many down year teams, or "young" teams he defeated in the process because it doesn't support the god complex. Are there another excuses out there? I mean, do any of these other teams ever lose?
I remember that Lincoln team being loaded with talent  ;)
Mr. Garrity, that "loaded" Lincoln squad had a 6'3 post man (Brandon Carlisle) and their best player (Kevin Thomas) in the stands...It DID help develop a young Solomon Jones and Otis Armstrong at the guard spot and got them ready for their state run the next season.

Cuz I can tell you how many vidor had. None. Not one. Jake (the 6 10 guy) went to a d2 school for god sakes and your saying they were the same talent wise?? Really man?!? Wow.
Sure I can tell you...How about ONE!...Kris Richards, who was a 10th grader, and played at Tulane....Jake was better as a SENIOR than Kris was as a 10th Grader....Rod Bellard went D2, Joe Lamb went Juco, and they were juniors...NEXT! ::)....FYI...Some D2's ARE better than MOST D1's.....Just FYI.. ;)

 17.
5 people have agreed with you, yet you keep bragging and praising your idol. NOBODY, again, NOBODY has suggested Boutte was not a good coach. ::)
My idol? No..One of my mentors, other than my father, in the coaching profession...Someone who has been around me since I was 5 or 6 years old...Someone as close to me as a brother...Yes, all of those. Not my idol...You idolize people that you cannot get next to...Thats a dumb statement...And yes you were implying that Coach English was a better coach because he did not have the "talent" that Boutte had over the years, yet managed to beat him 3 times (in the same season) out of about 20 games total played.... ::) ::)..Ridiculous.
 18. OK I will say it...3 state titles, 9 state appearances, 19 district titles, 9 regional titles and 86% games won in 20 years is just BETTER.
 19.
He did win in Pampa but not in 1996.
That would be ROBERT HALE...I knew that name was on the tip of my fingers!! 8)
 20.
ANd Tubby Smith happens to be one of my favorite coaches but I am saying that, in spite of his title, he has not done a better job of coaching than Stevens has.  The OBVIOUS inference (as previously suggested in several other threads) is that there are many great coaches who will never win a title.
So let me get this right, are you saying that Brad Stevens is BETTER, although he has never won a title?
 21. Culley was NOT the Pampa coach when they won state in 1996....It is the guy (I can't think of his name) that is the current Crowley coach...Robert ????....It slips me right now...But anyway, TRY AGAIN...
OK, but would you agree that Westbrook, Silsbee, and Central for example ALL had talented enough teams to win or even GO to state, but did not make it? It takes MORE than talent alone to win it all...Coaching plays a HUGE factor in winning big. Particularly at the 4A and 5A level...These guys REFUSE to acknowledge what was done by him was special over the years, by making the excuse of built in talent as if NO WORK was involved..THAT is what burns my hide about it! >:(

Your barking up the wrong tree DV. No one is saying Boutte can't coach.  He has proven himself.
Proven himself more than once at at multiple schools, and with different groups of kids, and with different levels of talent....And saying that he couldn't do what English did at Vidor is utterly ridiculous...The guy's resume speaks for itself.
Nobody is questioning Mr. Bouttes ability to coach.  What is being questioned is your suggestion/inference that he is the Messiah and that nobody can compare to him.  You are simply wrong about that.  He would not have had the same degree of success( in terms of titles- which seems to be your only barometer) if he had taken jobs at Dayton and Liberty instead of Lincoln and Ozen.  Also, why is his stint at Kountze never discussed by you?
He was at Kountze from 87-89...He did well there, just had not won state yet in HIS FIRST TWO YEARS OF COACHING, period...Right out of college, mind you...Come on! :o...However, went to Lincoln, went to state, won it all twice and NO ONE ELSE did it after he left...Gamble came out of retirement and went to Austin in 99....ANOTHER great coach...If it were Sutherland, you would be on here talking about what a MAGNIFICENT achievement it was....typical... ::)
I am not questioning that coaching has a lot to do with it, in fact that is the my point.  I am also not saying that English is a better coach.  my point is that Boutte had more to work with from that start at Ozen, and wasn't exactly hurting at Lincoln either, as they had already one 4 or 5 Championships by the time he got there. ( I don't know when he started at Lincoln)  ,  Also quit trying to make this a racial issue.
A racial issue? HOW? :o...Are you saying that starting a BRAND NEW high school is "working with" something? He had what Beaumont ALWAYS had!! and they had not won a title since Hebert in 1982.

Sutherland is a great coach, but I am smart enough to understand he is NOT the Messiah.  I also understand that he  has no exclusive or secret knowledge that isnt available or obtainable in the overall coaching market.
I agree with your take on Sutherland...I never said ANY of the above about either of these coaches as far as being the "Messiah" as you call it...But you giving excuses for Boutte's success are not going to fly with me because I KNOW better than that.
They are NOT excuses.  They are examples of what Mr. Boutte had to work with.  I want you to convince me that he would have achieved the same results if he had been at Dayton and Liberty instead of Lincoln and Ozen. ( I assume he would have done well but not nearly as well in win loss terms as he would at Lincoln and Ozen.) My original contention was that there are many great coaches who never win a title and I stand by that.  I will also suggest to you that Brad Stevens  has done a better coaching job in recent years than Tubby Smith has.
Why? I think Brad Stevens is a HELL of a coach...But you won't ever give someone else that same credit...Why is that? Tubby Smith is a HELL of a coach, WITH a National Championship... ;)
 23. Pre-integration? OK.  8)

Gamble did.... ::)
Yes, Culley won a 4A state title.
Where?
