coldsprings IS (NOT) the underdogs by no means  WE ALL KNOW THIS
I am just curious skipper, how do you know that WO-S is the underdog? Stats don't tell you anything, won and lost records do not mean anything, polls are out the window, individual team player records mean nothing, just how can you tell.
It took me a little while to figuer it out, stats has nothing to do with who wins and who has the best team. It is all in the "Predicting", that is thing we must all watch.

I am just now begining to get the hang of this "Point/Counter Point" begining to make sense. Improves everyones knowledge of the game.
Thats an easy one.  Its because Coldspring won the region last year, played in the State Championship game last year, and they have yet to lose a game this year.  They have also been ranked in the top 5 all year.  WO-S on the other hand, has 3 losses, struggled to beat some district opponents who didn't even make the playoffs, and are predicted to lose this game by all the HS football guru's; and oh yeah, have not been ranked in the top 10 the entire season.  Can't be much more of an underdog than that!!!
WO-S started the season ranked number 7 in 3a.. I think they are just now playing up to that ranking
  2. I was at west orange lastnight and watched them practice trust me the kids are focused and have nothing but Coldsprings on there mind..I compare Coldspring this year to the kirbyville team WO-S played last year.. WO-S lost only because our star quaterback had died and Salter the starter this year wasnt exactly ready to be in that type of game (who would) but that game was very close even though we only threw the ball i think 10 times which is not our offense we're looking to throw it atleast 20-25times... It'll be close early on but WO-S will Blow It Open After Halftime 28-10 WO-S

Ease up Kicker, no one was making fun of this football player and if my link had stayed on I would of have this posted along time before you made the comment: Just facts and stats.

Justin Thomas review listed as #61
With Justin Thomas sitting out this season because he's 20 years old, it's tough tell exactly what kind of prospect we're talking about. At his best, we've got an athletes that has to be in the conversation of best pound-for-pound players in the state. At 5-9, 165 pounds, whatever knock you want to make about his talent is strictly size related. It is what it is. If you focus on his strengths, it's clear we're talking about one of the state's most dynamic and explosive players. If a guy is going to be on the smallish side, he better have elite skills in the way of speed, quickness and athleticism. Check, check and double check. In an age where everyone is trying to speed up their film, Thomas has enough burst that he doesn't need to. We're talking about a kid that can flat out run and he'll undress someone in a phone booth when a chance in the open field presents itself. Offense, defense or special teams - he can contribute in a big way. He has to get stronger if he's going to play on defense, but he's just a football playing sonofagun.
Dacarlos is not ranked but he is on the website and his 7 D-1 Offers or listed on rivals.com....... on scout.com he is one of the top 75 db's in the nation

Greg Tepper and Travis Stewart, both of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football picks Coldspring to beat West Orange- Stark and to advance to State Simi-Finals

On the subject of Top Football Players in Texas list I could only find two players and only one was playing in this game that was listed in the top recruiters list.

For Coldspring Sherman Gilbert 4.5 40yd was listed as the 10th ranked RB in the state all though  Oklahoma State is recruiting him as an inside receiver. He also is listed as the 89th player in the Top 100 list.

For WO-S the only player (ex-player) I could find was Justin Thomas was listed as the 41st DB in the state, but is ineligible to play because he is 20 years old. He was not listed in the Top 100 list.

If there are other list please post for our friends we share this board with.

On orangebloods.com they have Colin janice and Travon Blanchard Both The Starting rovers for WO-S listed in the Top 100 for class of 2013 blanchard is # 54 and Colin is #65...

Not to tak anything away from him he is a quality kid, But if our kids can go catch brandon williams from brookshire royal from behind and Johnathan Johnson from friendswood I think we have one or two that can walk down Mr. Gilbert..

WOS, your D is overrated.  After the powder-puff top half of the bracket, you think you are all that. Who have you shut out this year?
We havent shut out many opponets because we didnt scrimmage and play 2a schools or weak 3A schools in the pre district schedule we played 4A playoff  teams like Vidor 4A 3rd round team we beat them. Nederland 4A 3rd round team we lost by 1 Friendswood 4A playoff team we lost by one in 2Ot's trust me we are battle tested if Coldsprings played that schedule they wouldnt have made it out alive
Did WOS shut out Orangefield? NO. CS did.
Did WOS shut out Bridge City? NO. CS did.
Did WOS shut out Cleveland? NO. CS did.

Has coldspring won a State title in Anything lately .......Hmmmm NO !!!
Nice future excuse for losing Friday. I bet you wil go to the "I know the WOS team of years ago would have beat ya'll" card.

Nope we'll say dang Coldsprings cant buy a championship

I think one interesting aspect of this game is that from what I have seen Coldspring usually starts off fast and struggles a little late and WO-S does the opposite.  Some of that may have to do with conditioning and at this point you either are or you are not.  WO-S seems to be hitting another gear late when their opponents are sucking wind.  Is CS in shape to play with the Mustangs in the 2nd half?  That is one benefit I see the Mustangs having from all the close games they played all year and the Trojans "resting starters" in the 2nd half all year through the blowouts.  Can the Mustangs keep within striking distance early and if the Stangs lead at half it could be trouble, but who knows.
If the stangs ever get up by more then 7 points Coldsprings can kiss it goodbye the defense goes into a rage when ever the offense puts points up.. those kids play with so much heart ad swagger I dont believe Coldsprings will know what hit them

lmao D-1 players where did you read that so i can go look, speed well maybe if we can pull some of the JV players up  then you will see speed as you should know wo-s has no speed i am rolling on the floor  TRY AGAN young man :-*
    [/quote

dacrolos Renfro 7 D-1 offers, Colin Janice, Travon Blanchard both ranked in the TOP 100 for the state of texas for the class of 2013.. and thats not counting Justin Thomas who's committd to Utah to play corner back
  11.
It's no secret Coldspring's defense has kept them alive in the last three ball games...I'm not picking on Coldspring or any team..All this talk of speed is good, and good to have..But if all a team can do (any team) is run between the red zones and not score,What good does 600 yards of offense do you.... ;D
In the second half of lastnights game WO-S held Bullard to 19 yards TOTAL offenses THATS CHAMPIONSHIP DEFENSE
  12. I do think Coldsprings defense will be the toughest we have faced but we will be the toughest team they have seen as well as the fastest.. Trust me.. I watch the Bridge City game you guys struggled you didint have anybody but gilbert that could make the big play .. We have about 4-5 guys that can break a 40-50 yarder at any given time..  And if you guys have a bad snap against us like you did against bridge city Colin and the blanchard kid will be on you guys like some dogs every bad snap for a team this year has resulted in a turnover those guys fly off the edge

Ive Seen Both Teams Play Coldsprings is a product of a fairly easy schedule WO-S has played 4A Nederland, 4A Friendswood, both loses were by 1 point to each of those 4A playoff teams, and with Giddings WO-S had the ball in the redzone 6 times and didnt sore for various reasons, not making excuses but in all those game WO-S was still trying to install the I Formation offenses after the giddings game WO-S returned back to the spread and started a dominating run, That was Derailed by injuries along the way which caused some games to be close but WO-S is a team on a mission keep in mind they have won all of there playoff games without there best player D-1 corner Dacarlos Renfro.. 5'10 175 4.3 forty.. another note WO-S has 3 Kids that run 4.3 fortys and about 6 that run 4.4's thats serious speed.. I think Coldsprings Gilbert is the only kid that can run with these guys.. And last but not least the best player on west oranges team was deemed ineligible before the season even started and that had alot to do with there early losses he was a special player.. But my predication is WO-S 17- Coldsprings 10
I just have to laugh out loud when I here people talk about thier team having multiple kids running 4.4s and lower at the high school level. It's kinda like when you hear a kid throws 90 mph in baseball then you show up and they are topping out at 85. For some reason people feel the need to boost thier players abilities. Really 9 kids that run 4.4s idt there is a team in the nfl or college that has 9 guys that run 4.4s.
How many state championships in track does WO-S have??  come on man if it were any other school id be right there with you calling bs but hey everybody knows these kids can flat out fly and of course all these 40 times are hand timed but even thats flying.
Never said yall wernt fast but 9 kids that run 4.4 40s is ridiculous. I don't think you realize how fast 4.4 really is.
Dacrlos Renfro 5'10 175 (starting Corner) 4.3 forty, Quienton Tezeno 5'10 165 (starting corner) 4.3 forty, Justin Thomas 5'9 165 cornerback committ for utah 4.3 forty he's ineligible, Colin Janice 5'11 170 ( starting rover) 4.4 forty, Artevin Mcdonald 5'9 165,(part time starter at Safety) 4.4 forty, Tawan Lucas 5'10 170 (starting safety) 4.4 forty, Britton Lindsey 5'5 165 (starting running back) 4.4 forty Travon Blanchard 6'3 185 (starting rover) , 4.4 forty.. now when i say 4.3 those times range from 4.30-4.39 i dont mean they all run 4.3 flats and the same goes for the 4.4 fortys.. Daniel Woodson 5'11 215 (starting linebacker) high 4.5 and the same goes for Joe Lynch other starting linebacker 5'10 190
According to scout.com Justin Thomas runs a 4.5 that is the only one I could find online I already knew what renfro ran.
Look up Travon Blanchard and Colin Janice on rivals.com Colin Got second in the 400 at state as a sophomore this past year and ran a 4.40 at the TCU camp
According to this link Colin runs a 4.59. Travon was a 4.43. Like I said before I have no doubt that yall have got a couple of guys that can run 4.4s and maybe even 4.3s, but 9 of them is just unrealistic.
