  1. kville has some good ones coming up as well.  HF beat kvilles 7th grade this year but they also had 4 starters out.  Not an excuse by any means but it couldve been a different result.  Kvilles 9th grade has some great potential in all sports especially since they are dropping down to 2A next year.

H-F has some athletes who have moved into the area from BISD. The problem is the parents I have talked to may not let them play in the H-F district. But if they play, in 4 years H-F will be competitve.

  2. Yeah, Luke Sr. and my dad were teammates and roomates in college at UT-Pan Am...They are lifelong friends, and like family to us...Luke Jr. finished from Westbrook in 1991, and played at Syracuse, followed by a short overseas pro stint in Puerto Rico...Dude, who are you, and how do you know so much about me?? :D

OOH OOH please tell me who u r so I can sit right on side of you at Ozen vs. Yates!!!! lol :P

LOL!  Dickie better treat me to my lunch after the Yates win.

  3. I was hoping to find some information on some local tournaments prior to the regional tournament, possibly the weekends of March 8, 15 and 22.  The little dribblers headquaters suggested the regional tournaments should be held the weekend of March 22; however, that is Easter weekend.  I was hoping little dribblers would allow districts to postpone the regional tournament to March 29 to allow for more time considering Springbreak and Easter all fall around the weekends of March 15 and 22.

Check with Barbers Hill, Kountze, Bridge City, and I think Anahuac..oh and Hardin-Jefferson (Twin County) Little Dribblers programs. They all held good tournaments prior to regionals last year. Especially Barbers Hill.

  4. It was already set up for Pat to replace him, definitely goes out the Knight way, no parade just finish the game.  80%  graduation rate, program never in trouble and good kids with the exception of Isiah.  These days it is hard to get 50% grad rate and the stories of kids being thugs off the court are the headlines.  I would love to see him be a commentator, would never happen because of his contmpt for the media but it would be funny.  Maybe satellite would be good for him.

    What was wrong with Isiah?

  5. ::) ::) ::)...OK...I can't WAIT...Thats all I can say...The excuses will be flying all over the place!! Yates had better figure out a way to get SOMETHING out of that pathetic HISD district they are playing in! PITIFUL! How do you lose by 100 points? (Houston Austin)..Just plain pathetic teams in that district..When the playoffs start, they will be in for a rude awakening! ;)

Dickieboy! Start saving your money. I think I'll upgrade to Brentwood Country Club for our luncheon.

  6. I am not trash talking, I am FACT TALKING...What that other guy is doing is called DOUBLE talk...He said that, and I quote "When the teams were equal the score is 3 to 0." And that is saying that Boutte only won against English for all those years solely because he had that much more talent. You read the thread and tell me what YOU think, if you have not already.  My point is made, and I am done with it..I am sick and tired of SE Texans giving excuses for why Boutte has done so well throughout the years AND saying that he was outcoached whenever he has lost a game, to coaches that he has DOMINATED in terms of wins and losses throughout the years...Makes no sense...I am off the soap box now... :)

You are truly your daddy's son, Dickieboy!  Keep up the good work.

  7. If we control the boards, hustle,  and don't turn the ball over a lot, we win.  We lost the last game because they hustled to lose balls and grabbed key rebounds in the 4th quarter.  With that being said, Ozen should be the heavy favorates in this contest.

LOL at soulja............OZEN keeps rolling on their way to Austin.............and if anyone didnt know ozen could possibly meet Central for a third time in the playoffs if they make it far enough so they will have a third time to redeem themselves because their is no way central is beating ozen on their homecourt...........Soulja dont you remember what happen last year in ozen's gym?? Rice was on the bench wit his legs crossed because he was losing by 30 i think we see an encore of that Tuesday.............  :D :D :D :D :D :D

Let me repeat myself. Ozen will not  get past regionals this year. A Houston team is waiting around the corner for them. 8)

ozen is more then ready for them i promise you

All I ask for is that I can find you guys after regionals and boast. I want you and my close family member (Dickie) to buy me lunch at Chili's and listen to me brag how Yates destroyed Ozen in 2008.

  8. Lamar needs to hire a coach, recruit women swimmers, and join CUSA in that sport now.

That would be nice but it won't happen.  They'd never vote to let us compete in just one sport.  But 5 years from now, who knows what opportunites will be out there.  Lamar should be just about finished with all of it's facility upgrades and it's athletic budget should be closer to $10M a year than just $5M now.  Lamar should be able to make a jump to a better conference at that time.

CUSA?  You people are dreaming.  Lamar needs to be very successful in the Southland Conf first and foremost.  Compete for and win a FCS(D1AA) championship.  There are too many other options for CUSA to add.  Why Lamar when you have all of the SunBelt schools (read established D1A) to choose from.  Troy, Arkansas State, North Texas, etc., to name a few.  Besides, a $10 million athletic budget is nothing these days.  That's probably the very bottom end for an FBS program.

Besides, CUSA is not looking to add another football any time soon.

Whew! I was thinking the same thing. Luckily he was referring to swimming and not the whole athletic program.

  10. I attended a YMCA league game today and after one particular game, I overheard a father say that the coach better not be cursing the kids (age about 8 years old)in his post-game meeting. The father begin taking off his watch and his cap as if he was preparing for action. I guess the coach didn't curse his players because I didn't hear any commotion outside the building. My son's played Little Dribblers last year and I could not believe how some parents acted in the stands.

  11. Oh well, Kashmere was so corrupt before my dad got there, so I am not surprised!! :D....Nah, I know Coach Brazos did not play that, so don't even try that one...I KNOW better than that!! ;)

Hey Dick! The honest God's truth. Coach Brazos is not among us anymore, but he talked to my English teacher and she changed my grade. I missed a game until it was changed. But I was intelligent enough to pass the class.  I just lost my focus for those particular six weeks.
