You see, Brenham and Dayton respect each other. We meet up before, during and after the games. I know guys that have dinner before and after. We have had some very memorable games over the last few years, and I would never post anything that was meant to offend anyone on the board. I never made a crack at Crosby until I was cracked on, and even then it was minimal. I'm hoping that both Brenham and Crosby do win this weekend. Rivalries are always good for the game of high school football. FRIENDLY rivalries. Not rivalries that people start making personal attacks on people AND their families. That's messed up. Let's keep it about the game on the field....about the kids. It's not about us on these forums trash talking each other, well knowing that the same kids that we are claiming to support are probably reading it. What kind of example are you setting for them. We have more recent playoff success than Crosby but ya know, if you say so. Win a regional final then yap them gums 100%. ;)

Ah yeah Crosby did make it.  In 1960 and in class 1A:  Albany 20, Crosby 0.  As far as the smack-talk, I've watched and participated on some heated boards leading up to highly anticipated games in the past.  If you love the game and are a strong supporter of your team, of course the emotions run high and things are said and replies escalate.  However, when things get personal and family, specifically wife and/or children are brought into the discussion, the line has been crossed.  You can talk sh!t all you want and declare your team the best in the world, but don't refer to a man's home life.  That's bullsh!t!!  Good luck to all teams that are fortunate enough to be playing this week and beyond.  Go Cubs!!

The more and more you post, the more and more I wish that brenham and Crosby meet up so earnest can run all over yall, and if y'all don't get to meet up maybe dayton and Crosby will meet up again and the better team will come on top this time, or is crosby still playing the same dirty football they were playing when we met in crosby, it sure is funny how crosby was doing good this year and all of a sudden all the crosby fans are coming out of nowhere, but give it a few years and all the bandwagon fans that jumped on will be jumping off, there are very few crosby posters that are actually there win or lose.

Yes sir a lot of good folks over there in Brenham my wife and I enjoyed sitting in the middle of the Cubs fan base (along with green shoes Brenham fan, Pirate Girl, Piriballo 77,87 cub and others ) at Reliant last year .  Good luck to the Cubs this week-end .

Man, did I strike a nerve or what? The picture that I posted was definitely not a shot at Dayton, and I think that all of the credible posters on this board know that. I have much respect for the Dayton program, AND I have made that clear to a few of the Dayton posters in the stands when I met them last year. That pic simply represents two of the teams that I consider the class of Region 3. Brenham is only known for ice cream, huh? How about 7 baseball state championships, 3 football state finalists, and I don't know 5 or 6 football regional championships. By the way Blue Bell only pulled southern blackberry cobbler off the shelf in Crosby. Good luck against PLC this weekend. Oh, and just one more thing. Why the sudden irate concern over me posting that pic of E-Pat? I think the reaction is out of concern.

Can anyone tell me what Crosby is known for.......seriously never heard of them till I moved to this area. Heard of Dayton, PNG, Nederland, Vidor, etc, never Crosby though. How many titles do they have, how many appearances do they have, regionals???? Any sport???? I know Yall lost to Elgin when Yall were UNBEATABLE with the twins last year.....and Brenham baseball run ruled yall TWICE in the playoffs last year. But if all we are known for is ice cream, then so be it. Blue Bell ice cream, eat all we can, sell the rest.(except in Crosby)

Not to get into this with you, because I support Dayton(they seem to have first class kids and fans from my exp) and have had made that quite clear, but #5, Earnest Patterson, had 40 carries for 237 yds that night against Dayton. That was the toughest game the Cubs played except for Aledo and after the game the Dayton fans were gracious in defeat, hence the respect for them. Now you on the other hand, seem to argue with anyone that makes any comment that you feel you can crack on. Don't think the picture was aimed at Dayton, but was just showing the DCTF 5A cover boy doing his thing and if you don't think this kid can run........(Crickets.....Crickets.....Crickets.....Crickets.....Crickets.....)

Greetings to all of my SE Texas friends. I will be the first to admit that I am a lurker, and have frequently visited the site, but was waiting for just the right time to chime in 2014. What better time than playoff time? Last year will be very hard to duplicate, as nobody in the state thought that the Cubs would make such a memorable run. I would say that the same holds true for 2014, as the defense had to be completely rebuilt, as well as the offensive line. I must say that I love our coaching, and feel that they will put these kids in a position to win each and every week. Throw out the meaningless rankings, as they are nothing more than a distraction. It's playoff time...Brenham Cub time, and just remember that they are the defending Region 3 Champs. We know that there are a lot of really good football teams out there, and it is refreshing to know that we are one of them. Good luck to each and every one of your teams. I think Crosby wins, but don't think it will be by double digits. PLC is a very good team, don't let the record fool you, they have a very tough district. If y'all overwhelm them with your speed like we did last year, then yall will win. Turning point in our game with them last year was the two TOs rt before half returned for TDs that blew the game open. They are weak against the pass on defense, but that offense is tougher to stop than you think because they run it so well.

Agree you have to fit the talent you have. However, one dimentional teams usually don't fare well because once a good playoff team takes away their strength, they are toast. Lower classifications maybe, but not 5 and 6A. Even then you don't see teams that just do one, they may be heavy one or the other, but have the ability to do both when forced to. Most teams are spread in the formation sense only, but run the ball out of it to create open space for the RBs. Example: Brenham, spread formation, but have a 2000 yd RB s d 2000 yd QB passing. Spread formation, but balanced out of it, just try to create space for athletes.
