1. Let me just say that year in and year out you guys have the best fans I have ever seen. Just a freaking incredible turnout. And everyone of them is involved in what’s going on. I love my alma mater, and there was a period of time from 2000-2011 where they showed out, but you go now and half the people who do go are on their phone. Congrats, and y’all gonna win by 10.
2. Actually, it was our third playoff game. We were split into two zones in our district, and the zone playoff was the first playoff. Hey, it was a good game in the first half. We were beat up. Three offensive lineman sick or hurt. RB too. We wouldn’t have won anyway, but it definitely put a damper on things.
3. Man, a lot of people say the same of PNG. I don’t know I’ve seen a fan base that follows the team as deep as they do. They just fill stadiums up.
4. It is very much an honor. I’m an old school Cub and I have never stopped being involved on some level. We had a good team. I played at the old stadium on behind the old school on market street. We ran into a buzz saw in the third round my senior year. West orange stark dropped from 5A, and were too much. I miss Coach West, and all of his assistants that built that program into one of the best in the state from 2000-2017. Hopefully the second choice after he left will be a better coach than that clown. From 2020-2021.
5. Our fan base has lost a lot of steam and numbers over the past 6-7 years. I noticed it first in 2014. Can’t explain it, but I would be willing to bet that your fans will double(or more), our fans.
6. Yeah, we just don’t have the animals up front like we did in prior years. Good skill position players, with good speed. New coach has a wide open offense as opposed to the run first philosophy like before. They are alright, kinda inconsistent. They had Lake Creek on the ropes in the 4th qtr a couple weeks ago before we made a couple is stupid mistakes and Lake Creek scored twice in like two minutes. It’ll be competitive.
7. Crazy game. We had three games in a row that year that had very stressful endings. We are decent I guess. Talent pool is way down compared to the onslaught of talent that went on for about 15 years or more. Coach West is gone, then they hired some guy that really hurt the program the two years he was there. The jury is still out on their new guy. I can say one thing. They do seem like they are more disciplined and in better shape than they have been. We always have had great speed. Size is an issue right now. I see PNG winning this game. Hate to say it, but that last coach set us back. Good luck
8. lol….judging by the turnouts at the Texans games this year, they might make more money at this game.
9. No, that ain’t happening. We will still be D2.
10. Man, I hate being in Region 4. There are some competitive teams. Calallen, Tivy and Calhoun are probably tops out there. The reason I don’t like it is that it’s a two to three hour drive to almost every game. I’m hearing the way things are shaping up that we will be back in region 3 next year, but who knows what the UIL will come up with. There are just too many schools opening up all over. I think we give Calallen a good game. Our offense is legit, it’s the defense that worries me.
11. Congrats to PNG. The better team definitely won. Solid lineup with really good pitching. Good luck in Round Rock.
12. Brenham vs. PNG All games at Sam Houston State University Game 1- Wednesday 7:00 pm Game 2- Friday 6:00 pm Game 3- to follow Game 2(if needed)
13. My brother and I regularly make the trip to championship weekend, wherever it is played. I have spent the whole extended weekend in Dallas three times, and was at NRG last year. I can tell you straight up that there is no comparison. The overall atmosphere at AT&T is much more electric. Of course, the number one factor in this is that big screen, but there are may other factors that make it a great experience. Music selection, and filming the fans during tv intermissions is very entertaining. They do a great job up there. NRG was not terrible, but they lack a lot in facility amenities AND effort. None of my opinions are shaped by the Dallas Cowboys or Houston Texans.
14. My brother and I had the pleasure of spending the day at AT&T with Bobby in 2013. I know that his ties were with Dayton, but this guy loved the game no matter who was on the field. RIP from your Brenham friends Lil Tex. Prayers to his family.
15. I hope that you are correct, Coog. I think that we surprised a lot of people by taking out Georgetown(including myself). I feel like Consol is probably a little more physical up front than Georgetown was. We lost a lot of kids to graduation two years ago and we feel like we are getting back to a higher level than that debacle last year. From the outside looking in it looks like CC is strong again. Good luck to you guys against Marshall, and hope to see y'all next week.
16. Brenham.... Navasota or Lamarque Houston Lamar We HAVE to toughen up those two non-district games.  Hopefully some of the other teams in that district will improve,,,,
17. From what I understand this guy's(Johnson) grades were in the tank at BHS.  I am not sure if he will be eligible to play this fall if that is the case(at least until after the first six weeks period).  Not sure....just saying.  As far as the schedule goes....Not much to measure any team with that schedule.  Brenham should be strong defensively.  I am just concerned on the offensive side of the ball.  Regarless.....CAN'T WAIT!
18.
I am originally from Dayton but have been living the Navasota area for the last 7 years.  I think it is great what this football team has done for the community.  It is awesome going to the games and having standing room only no matter what stadium we play it.  I don't think we will have that issue this week.  But then again all of Dallas might show up, could be the only time any real football goes on at the stadium this year.  I just don't see their defense being able to make enough stops to beat us.  Congrats to all the members of the football team that made all state.  Especially Austin Collins, both 1st team offense and 1st team defense.  I can say I have never witnessed that before. Navasota 48 Gilmer 28
Agreed sir!  I have sat on Navasota's side for the last three games, and your fan support and involvement in the game is outstanding.  I will be in Arlington tomorrow to watch Navasota play.  As for the game, I must say that Gilmer is a very good program, and I think that this will be a hard fought game.  I do not see a blowout in this game. Navasota-28 Gilmer-24
Katy.
Best in 3A & probably 4A.  I can think of a few 5A teams like Katy that would be to handle Navasota.
After seeing them play twice, I think they beat the remainder of the field in 4A.  They are loaded at all positiions.
20. I have seen Navasota play the last two weeks, and my opinion is that they are as good as any 3A OR 4A team still remaining... ;)
21. Yeah, Navasota is the home team.  Yeah, I see this one being over by halftime.
22.
I am new to this site and am tired of talking about the game but I will give my opinion. First off, I will congratulate the rattlers on a great performance but I agree with coach Thompson we did help a lot and beat ourselves. I agree the fumbles were just good hits but the picks were unforced. Our qb is a hard worker but I just don't feel he's a big game performer he did this last year. I feel like we have great offensive players who should be given a chance. Every turnover came while we were driving downfield. I also feel our playcalling was too conservative as they were just waiting for our qb to run and the bubble screens They knew we couldn't throw deep on them. We should've mixed it up and gave other people a chance we have a good qb with a rifle arm and good running backs who don't even get a chance. As for our "vaunted" defense. They forced 2 early turnovers but got no help from the offense and eventually tired out. I also saw their "dominant" o line get away with holding A LOT. Again great game rattlers but if the shoe was on the other foot and you had several turnovers and lost you would say you beat yourself too. Oh, one more thing, #60 was nauseous the whole game and kept getting punched by the "innocent" rattlers in the stomach and he just finally lost it. That doesn't make it ok but just because you don't get caught doesn't make it ok to taunt and shove and throw punches.
The WOS QB had only two interceptions all year long, and last night he had three.  I would think that maybe they were forced.....just saying.
23.
I was at the '86 Brenham/WO-S game in Huntsville and probably saw you play and no it wasn't a beatdown but a very good game, 17-7, I think.  Wasn't a relaxing moment until it was over.  Navasota proved last night that they are the real deal, and I'm pulling for them and Region III.
Well, it was 23-7.  It was 7-7 at halftime, and WOS was the better team, no doubt!!
