I was on a decent roll first two weeks (20/25 and 21/25, 41/50 and tied for 2nd). I'm still on a roll after week 3 but its rolling down hill now. Oh well, easier to stay on a downhill roll than an uphill roll....LOL

There is no rhyme or reason to how I pick. I do go with my home team often, but not always. Some weeks I look halfway smart and some weeks I look like a total moron...:)

The trip up against Tarkington concerns me but I'm going to give EC the nod in this one. HF looks like they have struggled mightily thus far, even considering that their opponents in weeks 1 and 2 are probably better than EC's first two opponents. On a related but irrelevant note: I am somewhat of a contrarian and value originality. Mid County Madness has a nice ring to it, but it seems most other rivalries in southeast Texas are referred to as the "____ Bowl". So I am going to propose that we change the name of the game from the "Rice Bowl" to "The Rumble in the Rice Field".... OK, maybe I have to much time on my hands, my imagination is over active concerning trivial things, and I need to get a life....LOL

According to a thread on the old coach, The cost of the facility will be about $115 million. Breakdown of who pays what is: Frisco ISD $30 Million; City of Frisco $30 million; Frisco Economic Development Corporation $30 million; and Frisco Community Development Corporation $25 million. The Cowboys will be responsible for any cost overruns, pay the City of Frisco $100,000 annually as lease payment for using it as a practice facility, will be responsible for all future maintenance costs; and will share revenue from any sponsorship/naming rights with Frisco. Not a bad deal for Frisco ISD. $30 mil gets a first rate facility with no costs. Whatever revenue they generate is pretty much profit. It smacks of "mines fancier than yours one-ups-man-ship", but I don't know of any school anywhere that wouldn't take that deal.

Don't know about stats, but saw Halletsville in the regional seifinals against Bishop. Big, strong and good bats. Bishop's #1 and #2 pitchers pitched back to back complete game shutouts the week before against #5 Refugio. Couldn't hold down Halletsvilles bats. Halletsville pitchers gave up 3 runs each game against Bishop. Don't know a thing about Salado.

Just read the post. I was surprised no one mentioned Abiline. They have bee a factor (with some lean years as well) since the '20s.
