  1. I will add to the rant...If I wanted to watch East Chambers I would have had to pay NFHS network. As bad as I wanted to watch I didn't. fox sports had on some kind of MMA fight. they televised all the games I thought last year or the year before that. Thank goodness I had the audio, which I might add, was great. I think I will just drive to San Antonio and watch it in person Saturday! Go Bucs!

  2. That ruffing the punter looked staged to me. WW called a time out before the punt. The kid sat out one series which was just before half time. After halftime he came out like nothing ever happened. From where I was looking it didn't look like he even got close to the punter but maybe I had a bad angle. But EC has got to work on their secondary coverage for this next game, look at film on that Baylor commit QB. If the QB is that good, then we have to get to him or get to his receivers. I think we will need a interception or two to pull this one out. The defense will have to once again step up! The offense needs to be more productive in the red zone. We have to take advantage of our opportunities inside the 20. The defense will give out if they have to keep bailing out the offense! 1st down is a critical down also, meaning don,t put yourself in a 2nd and long every time.....Good Luck Bucs!

  3. You tell him Goat Man! Not picking any sides...just like Track in general. It is hard to get results from local meets nowadays. You have to have a coach that will call in or post the results somewhere. Like JSnipes said, ttfca.com is about the best place to get results if the coaches will post them. Yeah, back in the day(mid to late 70's) those meets were great. (2 day meets) Qualifying on Friday and finals on Saturday. I always said you could smell track season. Between the creamagesic(the stuff you rubbed on your leg muscles) and the fresh cut grass, you knew it was time to run. My Track Coach Gid Campbell, had a saying: Off your ass, on your feet, out of the shade and in the heat, cause we going to win this Track meet! I know coaches put in a lot of hours and really don't get compensated for it and that's why there aren't any Saturday meets. Most coaches don't want to spend one of their days off this time of year at a school event. IMO. I wish it were different. I think there would be more interest. Also, baseball cuts into track time. There is more interest in baseball than track. I hope this is not a dying sport for high school kids. A lot of good character comes from kids who run track. IMO!

  4. You know this is supposed to be one of the best times in these kids life. These memories are forever. I hope they're not reading all these posts. This is supposed to be about, I think, passing on useful information and discussions. Not all these attitudes and I know this and I know that and I pick so and so to win by 40 points. Who cares what you think the score will be. This is a playoff game between two ball clubs that have proven they deserve to be here and play each other. Just show up at the game and sit on the side of the team you want to win and rout them on! That will be a lot more help than all this criticism!
  5. I'm just ready for a setx team to win a state title and prove me and the other guys wrong. It remains to be seen if that's gonna happen. When exactly was the last state title for setx? Newton '05?

I think my son and I watched Kirbyville play Pilot Point in San Marcos around 2010. Should have won in my opinion...just had some bad breaks
  6. Yoe does seem to be clicking at the right time. The younger guys are getting the experience now through the season. Their defense seems solid as they just held the #3 team that averaged 59 points per game to 31 points. It will be hard to fool this defense. We must capitalize on their weakness if we can find it! They are also very opportunistic, so turnovers and mistakes will kill us. Go in with confidence and good things will happen. Lets Go BUCS!
