  1. He plays school ball for Lumberton,I was commenting on the no talent what so ever statement. He plays tournament ball for the slam,he's pretty solid and was an all district pick this year.
  2. IndianPride evidently you have never seen Ward play.I got a chance to watch Nederlands entry in Coopers tourney last weekend and Ward was better than anyone they had on the floor. Not downing Nederland but your comment was uncalled for.Ward was solid this year and is the most unselfish player I have seen in years.Thats a lost art these days.
  3. Warren will lose Kirkpatrick,Rawls,Babino and West all have started most of the games I've seen this year. They will be pretty solid though because their young guys are getting a lot of playing time.
  4. What in the world has happened to the Chester atheletic program?I know they have some pretty good atheletes in this age group.
  5. Tramain will be the top no doubt,McBee will make some big plays also for Warren
  6. Travis McBee was a junior,he will be a lot faster than Granger was but will have to develop throwing the ball since the position is fairly new to him.He is a super athelete and will do a great job at QB.If you think Travis Swanson just stands around you will be in for a shock, kid is very big but is also quick and a extremely strong kid.The biggest challenge for Warren will be to see if Morris can fill Esway's shoes, everything else will be about what it what this year.
  7. Warren at Deweyville was the tale of 2 halves.Warren jumped out to a huge lead but Deweyville came back in the second half to take a 6 point lead. The game ended with Warren at the Deweyville 10.Great high school battle featuring Williams and Esway.Definitely worth the money.
  8. Warren's mens doubles team of Tyler Word and Scott Carnley won 1st,Sammy Michell and Brandi Jacobson won the mixed doubles title.Paul Sims and Travis McBee were the 2nd place team in doubles and Casy Word finished 2nd in singles.Congrats guys and gal on the regional births.
  9. Down 11-1 and came back, now that was fun to watch.Good job guys.
  10. That was a very special group.Brody Parker and Ryan Heizelbetz were as good of young hitters as I have ever seen.Ryan was injured in an accidental shooting and was lucky to survive his freshmen year.As well as they hit the ball defense was their strength. If you hit it anywhere in the infield that group would throw you out. They could have defitely helped.
  11. Andrews is 6'4" ,Paul is 6'3" but he won't turn 17 until school is out and is still growing. They both are as far as that goes.Warren will put a pretty big club on the floor next year for a 2-a school.
  12. Amen and just a fraction of the new coach at Texas' salary. The sky may be the limit.
  13. From what I hear they are pretty solid, but the district as a whole is not real strong.Probably a couple of teams in 23aa that could give them trouble.Hope I'm wrong gotta back the 24aa bunch.
  14. We finally agree ,just kidding,I would have done that from the get go.I haven't seen Trey pitch in awhile but I think he would have given them the best chance to win.If Brody's shoulder is OK he will do a great job behind the plate.Know disrespect to the young guys,it's just a tough role to fill any position at the varsity level as a freshman or sophomore. For some reason the team seems to play better defensively when Caleb is on the mound. They may want to look at Payden for next year or they could have the same problem again.
  15. His dad weighed about 150 when he graduated, but that WAS a long time ago ;)
  16. Come on lets give credit where it's due.I am a loyal Warrior fan, but they beats 16-1 the first time. This one was close but the first one was a good ole fashion whoopin.Good luck guys the rest of the way.
  17. I guess that's my point 7 quality atheletes in a 2-a school would help.Sims would have helped the pitching staff tremendously.I had the opportunity to catch him before the aau bball schedule came out.He has always had good control. He just never would turn it loose. His basketball coaches have changed that demeanor.Carnley is concentrating on tennis but he would have stayed on the baseball team had the playing time been there.Thats probably the only thing I would question in the coaches decision,Scott could have definitely helped him. However that's his call. The key to this club is plain and simple"pitching".Granger,Sims and Swinney in the rotation would have made a difference in the record.Would they have beat Buna?Probably not,but I sure wish we could have had a chance to see.Diego hasn't played in years but with the right coach his potential would be unreal.
  18. That's what I said their key would be the weight room.Sims was in the gym and the weightroom everyday last summer. He is as hard a worker as you'll find.He was in the gym at 6am lots of mornings this year before basketball started. His challenge will be genetics, he takes protein works out everyday and has lost about 10 lbs since bball season.Kid eats like a horse.Andrews likes to lift weights and is stronger than he looks. These 2 guys will put in the work and they are both already excellent shooters. If they hit the weights tthe sky is the limit. They may need to hire Swanson as a trainer, that kid is stout.
  19. I believe we have a misunderstanding about kids choosing not to play.I know in Sims' case it was a conflict with an AAU basketball schedule, not coaches, he simply wanted to work on his basketball and the schedule happened to conflict with practice and game dates. He did work out some while he was waiting on the basketball schedule and I can promise you he would have helped this pitching staff. He is throwing as hard now as anyone on this staff and has a very good breaking ball. Not sure why Granger didn't play but he would have been the #1 guy.Carnley is as solid a player as they had in the infield and has an exceptional bat,not sure why he left the team unless it was lack of playing time.Kendall Wright and Travis McBee as well as Brent Nash and Diego Huerta could have also filled some roles and added depth. That's 7 players who could have contributed and helped this club, thats a bus load in a 2a school. Not saying all these guys would have started but they would definitely filled some roles and helped the TEAM.That's what's lost here baseball is the ultimate team sport it's not about 9 superstars.I will agree totally about the discipline, this isn't little leauge, learn to do it right or move over for someone that can.The coach will be fine give him a chance. The young guys will get better the more they play and mature, the older ones are gonna have to step up until they do.Go Warriors and good luck Morgan and Willis.
  20. No disrespect but Buna's JV coulda beat there varsity. For a school their size their basketball program has suffered since Brewster left.Their JV looked to be well coached and play very good fundamental basketball, their varsity was a completely different thing.
  21. Come on guys.I wouldn't exactly call getting beat by Sabine Pass,Burkeville,Anahuac,EC,Hardin,Memorial and Buna reaching new heights. There is a lot of baseball talent in Warren, unfortunately a lot of them aren't playing. To be honest about half the varsity club right now should be playing JV ball.Don't blame Coach Morgan for trying to manufacture runs,he doesn't have any choice. The bottom line is the Warriors have no depth on the mound.Swinney is solid as a starter,Wilson and Kelly will be good varsity pitchers its just not fair do expect it out of them as freshmen and sophomores.I've said this about football and basketball in years past"the best thing about freshmen and sophomores is they turn in to juniors and seniors".You don't build a program by changing coaches every year.Give the guy a chance.I also think someone with Willis pitching experience should be given control of the pitching staff. If you want a successful program hire the right guy and give him time to do the job.I still support the Warriors.Good luck guys.
  22. I have seen every team in the district except Buna and to be honest I haven't seen a dominate pitcher yet.As a whole I think this district is down a little this year in pitching strength.Lots of kids who can throw strikes but not the one guy that stands out.
  23. Warren will probably throw Swinney at EC on the 3rd.If they do Deweyville will be the favorite on Thursday. The Warriors will be in every game Caleb pitches, they need to start playing better defense behind the young pitchers.Seems like they are beat before the game starts when the 2 young kids start.
  24. EC will be outstanding as long as Tramain is there. They will have to replace some scoring however losing Preston and Leday,so they may be down a little from this year. They will still be one of the best in the region.Kountze is always good but they will be down this year from what they have been. You can't lose Busby,Powell,Haynes and Boykin and be as good. They will play pressure D and score off of it but Tramain handles that well.Warren lost Granger this year but I think they will put a better club on the floor next year than they did this year. All this had nothing to do with original question"Can Andrews and Sims lead this club".The answer to that is simply yes they can,how far we won't know until next year.Good luck to everyone in 24aa.
