No need for predictions, as long as he's out Liberty is out against every team except Tarkington. The plus side to this is other guys are getting looks such as Robinson and Fountain so when Jordan Jones returns he will have help and hopefully be able to work back into the 3rd spot for playoffs, not predicting they make it just saying. Jordan Jones is the key to this team offensively without him it's game to game we don't know what these other guys can do with Zack Fregia recovering from ACL surgery. If Fregia gets 100% you have your run problem solved with or without Dennis Antoine who is also hurt.
So Jones is out for sure? Also yall will be without Fregia and Antoine? Man you guys are getting hit by the injury bug bad... What do Fregia and Antoine play?
Fregia is playing he just had the ACL tear last year and didn't seem to be playing at 100% sat the 4th quarter but I heard it was just because it was blow out an didn't wanna risk injury he plays running back. Antoine has returned and will play against Newton he's the 6ft 200 pound running back who rushed for 1000 last year, and Fregia was his back up, but was also the back up two seasons ago as well, he was more of just the second back not a back up, untill he tore his acl in game 4 last season. As far as im hearing Fregia is cleared to play and Antoine is back but jj is for sure out, now that im hearing this im not going to predict anything.

Also don't expect them to just roll over to jasper and newton. Coming of a 7-3 record these boys are ready to take the next step.
If they "make noise" in 22-3A they should beat Newton handily and defeat Jasper as well.
??  Newton just handled a pretty good Bridge City team?
I'd say those boys "were" ready to make the next step, until their QB moved to Louisiana, now they just gotta see what J Jones can do for them and then its back to square 1.
 3. West Monroe is the best team in LA even he does bad that doesn't mean he isn't about it, that's like saying last year he sucked if we were to have entered Lake Travis on our schedule and didn't do much.
 4.
he has to go up against West Monroe, we'll really get to see what he's about.
At 6ft6 219 throwing for 3000+ in the 2 seasons here in Texas, I don't think we're looking to see "what he's about" were looking to see where he's going to sign.

 6.
That's what we were talking about in earlier posts
I read the first page, skipped the second and made my reply, my mistake lol
 7. HD seemed solid against Hardin, big deal. I know the team is improved from last year, but you guys are way to ahead of yourselves, Liberty as been guilty of that the past 3 seasons and you see how that turned out. All im saying is until you've actually won something don't call yourself real. Liberty opened up 49-0 on a Hardin team last year that was better then the one you just beat, and that meant nothing as your victory means nothing as well they will get last place in their district. HD may be good, but don't make the mistake of claiming greatness, when all you've done is beat Hardin. I do believe HD will be significantly better this year so Im not saying you guys aren't good, im saying beating HArdin means nothing and if thats what your using to call yourselves good then your mistaken. Only the Hardin fans believed they would win no one else was picking Hardin so quit acting like you guys have proved the world wrong they are terrible yall are better and anyone who knows football picked you to win, congrats on the win, now let's see how good you guys actually are.
 8. You guys could come together and use only the teams that you have for sure statistical sources for to make the league accurate.
 9.
We are glad you got the QB situation straightened out. Another poster indicated that this year's team is the fastest team that Deel has had since he has been at Liberty. Will this mean that you will have no excuses when Huffman stomps you this year?
Last years team was better hands down.
 10. He plays wide receiver, but he lined up at running back, and quarterback last season. He is the punt returner and kick returner as well and I hear when he gets healthy he will help on the defensive side of things, he isn't very big and the only time i seen him on defense was in 7 on 7 he is an excellent coverage corner and played linebacker in 7 on 7.
 11. Jordan Jones of Liberty, SETX sophomore of the year, then produced 700 receiving yards and 600 yards rushing the season after that as a junior. He does it all, and if healthy we should see another year of productivity.

Hope everyone know we called the dogs off. Early in the 3rd qtr also with out our starting running back #22 Middleton..
I was never going to make excuse as Jasper is the better team, but since you guys want to go out of your way to say it could of been worse, could we acknowledge the fact that Liberty's star player Jordan Jones only played 1 quarter before leaving with injury, with 700 rushing and 600 receiving he led Liberty in yards last season, also leading rusher Dennis Antoine (1000 yds last year as a sophomore) was out for the entire game, giving the burden of offense to Zack Fregia who just came off of ACL surgery and was seeing his first live action in over a year.  Jasper wins even with these two guys on the field, but you can quit trying to make yourselfs seem all mighty, Liberty is horrible this season, and you played them without their two best players and the third best was injured, and if you want to glorify yourselfs through this victory then go ahead, but your teams success cannot be determined from this game, your going to have to prove that somewhere else.
LP6, You need to come back. If you keep this up all season it will not be nearly as fun on here.
I'll support my team, but I have to tell it how it is, and it's that simple they aren't very good as a team, however we do have some outstanding athletes that can win games, so I'm not completley counting them out in any one game, but it's going to be hard from what I'm seeing so far. I still believe Jordan Jones is the best athlete in 22-3A and Dennis Antoine is the best running back, but as of now they are both hurt.

 15. Falconfanatic will tell you I'm a passionate Liberty poster, but seriously guys give it up, Liberty won't beat Huffman, Coldspring, Newton and most likely Cleveland this year. I was an idiot to say Standish would replace Fitzwater smoothly, and I take back that statement. Standish is in the same position Fitzwater was in as a sohphomore, he has a good running back and an offense that will help him get some numbers, but he won't have the numbers Fitzwater had as a junior, maybe not even what he had as a sophomore. Standish is a great kid, with a good heart, and a strong mind, in time he will be able to lead this group of young athletes, but as far as this season goes, it's on the shoulders of Jordan Jones and Dennis Antoine, these two guys will determine the Panthers success.
 16. I haven't seen enough of this team yet, from what I saw, the D is not as fast as last year and our defensive speed was not a strength last year so IDK where the "speed" comes from as graduated safety Jordon Andrews would out run current safety Andrew Fregia while back peddling, and there seems to be a weakness at the corner spot across from Aric Foster unless of cours Jordan Jones gets to play both ways, if JJ isn't playing both ways the D isn't faster, unless they are referring to the inside game which i haven't seen enough to see if they are as fast.
 17.

Perhaps you're missing my point. Put up against other teams huff and cs are scrubs. Prairie View has long been viewed as garbage, but if you put them up against lesser competition they're no longer scrubs. It all comes down to this, unless you're at the top, you're at the bottom. Trashing schools below you doesn't change that fact. At the end of the day, you're all still at the bottom.
Are you serious? Who cares how a 3A compares with a 5A? I guess Alabama is scrubs compared to the New York Giants according to your logic. CS has been in the State Championship and Semi-Final the last two years. CS against 3A competition is dominant. Huffman is 8-4 out of district and has advanced to the second round the last two years. I will keep it simple, against the teams in 22-3A, after Huffman and CS everyone is reaching for table scraps. Start winning some games and you wont have to be worried that someone called you "scrubs".  :'(
My advice to the new Panther posters I see, 89Falcon thinks that Huffman is NYC and that no one can touch them, however since we are from Liberty and we see them every year and have beaten them in recent times, we know they aren't THAT HIGH on the scale. I'm very happy they think Liberty is on the same level as Tarkington, even the Coldspring posters know they aren't near what they say they are (there the only ones). If they think Liberty is horrible now, they should have seen the teams they were beaten by a few years back, I know now that it is possible for Liberty to beat them, and that they are not God's gift to football.
 18. Aside from all of that back to the topic of the thread, I heard the DC is a really good coach. From what I've been hearing he's actually the defensive coordinator ON THE FIELD, the past 3 seasons Deel seemed to lead the D in practice and on the field. So even if he isn't all they say is, the Panthers should be in a better position on D with a coach who finally only has the one priority rather than Deel being the head of everything, and that's something they'll need as the D does look weaker than last year from what I saw.

I can see them getting second. Aaron Mosley is emerging from what I've been hearing and all their other skill players are back with the exception of qb
No way they get second. Liberty's record last year was inflated last year by playing extremely weak pre-district games. They lost to Huffman by 20  and Huffman returns 15  starters. Liberty lost their QB and 4\5ths of their Oline. The  might have had a small chance to pull an upset if Fitz was still there, but he's gone and so is their hopes of  getting second.
I'm not saying Liberty will get second, but I will say that if you believe Fitz may have been able to pull an upset if he was still here, then Liberty still has a chance to pull an upset, because Hudson Standish has the abilitiy to throw the deep ball just as good, if not better than Fitz, his short yard game isn't as good and he isn't as big or fast, but he is still big and athletic and if you say Liberty had a chane with Fitz then they have a chance still, also they are utilizing other skill players that they didn't use last year, they relied heavily on the pass game and didn't respect the run game as much as they should in the important games, the rushing statistics came from the garbage teams, and the only rushing stats we had against the good teams were through Jordan Jones, who will be carrying the ball alot more than last year due to the loss of Fitz, so Liberty is by no means out of the question for 2nd or 3rd place.
Fair enough. With a good QB and wrs you always have a passers chance, and if Standish is as good as you say then that is still true for Liberty. I still think Huffman is the favorite over Liberty, but anything can happen on Friday night.
Well said, and yes I believe the Panther passing attack is going to be fine, Standish throws the deep ball well, and Aaron Mosley's best part of his game is going up for the deep ball. However, it's not Standish matching Fitzwater that I believe gives them a chance, it's the fact that Standish isn't as good as Fitzwater so the Panthers will run more, and I believe that's what the offense needs. Huffman is still the favorite for second I would say, but I am by no means counting Liberty out. And even with the QB change, the Panthers should still throw almost as much just no as much, which is what could of made the difference last year if they would have kept the ball on the ground in short yardage key situations. Last year the coaches failed to utilize Fitzwater and Antoine ( 6ft6 and 6ft ) in the short yardage run game, those guys could have fell forward for the yards needed, rather than pass on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and short.

He could have got our whole team to run thru a brick wall if he wanted to. (well, into it at least.) we all looked up to him.
Well judging from the 7on7 experience (and yes, I will be the first to admit that 7on7 is a long stretch from the friday night lights), Coach Deel and company haven't been doing too dang bad.
so much for their QB situation  ;)
Hudson Standish is 6'2, he throws the deep ball well, and most of all he is a leader, although Fitz was good he never spoke out in tough times on the field, and he just wasn't a leader, Standish is a leader and works extremely hard not to mention the fact that he is a good passer and he can run the ball, the Panthers may have gained rather than lost in this situation, Jordan Jones will get to carry a heavier load, not i say "get to " because last season against the tougher opponents he led the games on the ground and in the receiving game, him seeing more touches will help the Panthers stay on track and hopefully only take further steps from last season, Standish also threw 9 touchdowns against Atascosita in 7 on 7, which means nothing I know, but don't think Liberty has a qb problem.
