I can’t find any info about the situation other than the job opening for AD was posted March 17th and this excerpt from [Hidden Content] Kelly's first chore at BCISD will be hiring a new athletic director. Allen DeShazo was let go recently after his football teams compiled a three-year 6-21 record. "We'll find out real fast how popular I am," Kelly joked. But, over the telephone, as he worked one of his final days in Central Texas, he revealed he was tasked with hiring a new athletic director for Valley Mills, too.

The more I think about it, if the coach was let go from Valley Mills, why would it make sense for the new superintendent to hire him in BC?

Looks like Valley Mills is also looking for Athletic Director / Football coach... I don’t know anything about the coach, or their program though.
