  1. It was interesting--my comments are: Deweyville will compete well in 2A this season. LCM is starting out slow this year as they have added new players. Bridge City will be strong in the 3A ranks....these multi-sport athletes can really drive-the-spike. Strong muscular legs and arms on most all the team: most unlike the more normal bambi-like tall typical volleyball players. They were a lot stronger and controlling today, than the LCM team starting out this early in the season.
  2. BC Cardinals were real young last year and went to the semi-finals.  Orangefield graduated quite a lot. Tradition and a host of seasoned playoff-level returnees wins the District for BC.  Forrest Zoch and Super Sophomore, Hayden Guidry dominate the Pitching in 21-3A.
  3. Guess we are about a week to ten days out on having accurate answers to these questions.... ;D
  4. Who will be on the various HS Volleyball Rosters at the start of the season?.......any shakeups?; any outsiders that have transferred into local programs?  Any switching schools? Who has moved up to Varsity this season? Of course we don't have all the answers to these questions as yet; however, as the season gets into progressive stages, this could become an informative thread.
  5. Question....Did the AD win or are the girls going to go ahead and play in the National SB Tourney?
  6. Great Gal our "Sam" is.  Becca and Beth steered a shy girl into a great player!  Good Coaching and good girls are a winning combination!  Congrats Samantha.
  7. I see that several of our very non-threatening logical threads were deleted? Many ADs have it in for Softball all over the country now......yet those teams that make the HS SB final four in all classifications are loaded with top select players--what gives?  Also, I attended the State Volleyball Tourney this past year: I guarantee every winner and runner-up team was stacked to the hilt with Club Select Team players--what gives?  These kids need college scholarship to play SB and they get them from mostly playing Select Softball, in front of a host of college scouts mainly at National events--what gives? As for OF the inconsistency by ADs has killed the HS softball almost into being non-existent. The AD previous to the present, said a SB player had to play another sport. Here is sadly what happened, the Ratcliff girl was told she had to get up and run CrossCountry at 6am in the off season-- when SB was out of season.  Here is an exceptional scholar of a youth that just wanted to play SB and her grades were paramount of importance to get an academic scholarship.  Yes she was also an exceptional proven Short Stop.  She drops out of SB...sad. Now the next AD has a totally different agenda.   If you are trying to get a college scholarship in SB and feel you need to be seen by many SB college Scouts at Nationals--"So what"; no consideration given...Select at National levels trashed-- you miss a two-a-day for Volleyball you cannot ever play!   I was watching BC beat a OF team this year and was thinking... Egos..have caused the demise of OF"s SB team.  They had a great positive SB Coach; but a lot of players are not playing because of the attitudes and lack of continuity of a few.. adults. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hopefully this can be handled by their School Board.  I would hope to see OF being a player in trying to win the 21-3A District in Volleyball with the multi-sport talent that exist in their school!
  8. Bridge City wins 12-11 over Sinton.  Sinton is out, BC plays tomorrow night--Juniors are hanging in there.
  9. Wow, A major upset in the making!  Bottom of the 5th; BC 3 Rose Capitol East 1......This is funny, the city of Tyler hosted this event fully expecting to stay undefeated with the-- Rose Capitol East-- greater area handpicked team.  Hang in there Bridge City 13-14 year olds!
  10. Bridge City 13-14 y. old play "Rose Capital" at 5 pm today.  Rose Capital is a- Greater Tyler- area team that is undefeated thus far.  Please post ongoing scores if you have access to someone at the game. Thank You
  11. Good District setting,  BC with better than a 50-50 chance to win the District.  They lost a Setter but have a great replacement; plus a real-- Natalie Sarver-- type Spiker starting to develop. It seems that they will be on track, whether they win or just make the playoffs: they are geared to excel in bracket play--just like last year.  Good Coaching and steady improvement in teamwork play; keeps you from going home after the first Bracket game. Last year they even beat the Regional Champ in one set--now that is a confidence builder for the short girls.
  12. Sounds like BC crushed a pretty good Silsbee team.....I have seen them play a few times and was just waiting for that bunch to get over their sea-legs.  The confidence is building  WOW
  13. So BC is one up and have to be beaten twice to keep them from advancing?  Please share some details of the game. Thank you
  14. Do we have any scores or updates to share?  Point of information---13-14 year olds are playing at the Bridge City HS fields.
  15. Could some one keep us informed on the various age group classifications for boys and girls in the ascent of the Bridge City Little league teams as they ready for sectional etc: bracket play.. Times? Place? opponents? and all other pertinent data....
  16. Dillon has what it takes....he just keeps getting better....I shows determination still pays off!  Congrats to a fine young man.
  17. Question: On that strong red team....Did Zane Anderson Pitch; Matt Menard Catch; Zach Smith 2nd base & Mitch Hubbard play 3rd and serve as closer Pitcher? If so, know wonder they were a little stronger.  I can see this team getting 9 hits: just looking at the roster.
  18. Looks like the Sun Devil games could be BROADCAST; there are a lot of folks that would enjoy some good baseball all summer.  The shut-ins-- I guarantee will be faithful in listening to the broadcast.  There is a lot less good games going on this time of year: these games will be very popular with the listening audience.
  19. Thanks keep us posted on times and places and we will try to get a larger fan base started... Thanks.  We can travel within 100 miles to watch a good ballgame. ;D
  20. Thanks folks! WELOVEBASEBALL:  About what time is the Final game......Please give us a score at present.....would like to break away and see the final games; especially if two SunDevil teams play each other!
  21. Great list of stout players.... My favorite Freshman(if their were such a classification) would be Hayden Guidry.  He was so instrumental in sending BC so deep in the playoffs.  What a strong Freshman on the mound; this big boy will be playing in the Nationals some day!    IMHO
  22. Could folks please share the teams-- Sundevils, Gladiators, etc: as to what rosters have our various HS players from the Golden Triangle playing? Some of us will attend if we know the times and places. Rosters? Schedules? Local Players(even those Uth that will be coming into the ninth grade). Shared info will be appreciated...
