  1. Jaden Dillon, Jason Clark & Casey Jackson will be there for BC Game for 1A, 2A ,3A is on Sat June 14th at Lamar. Boys need to be there at 9:00 a.m. and game is at 4:00 p.m. Letters went out about two weeks ago.
  2. Jaden Dillon will be taking one, just not sure which one yet.
  3. Mark, I am proud of you and Gabe Pruitt for writing what needed to be said about the Billy Bryant issue. I think only the coaches and their records was the thing being compared and not the football players. If you honestly think Mark Dunn meant any different, then you don't know him very well. He has done an awesome job over the years covering our BC playes in all sports. Let's take it away from sports for a minute. Would the district "reassign" lets say a math teacher with an average 97% passing TAKS score over the years and keep the reading teacher whose scores never reached a 60% pass rate? It wouldn't make any sense. The point being stressed in Mark's article was no matter the record - win or lose - if you don't play the "behind the bleacher game" you are OUT. Billy only played the game that is ON the field. I and many others thought the article was right on the money and were not offended by the truth. Nor did we look for some way to make Mark Dunn seem unkind so readers wouldn't believe what he wrote. The truth is what it is - in this case not BC's best side. In such a small town, not everybody can speak out like they may like to in fear that what was done to Billy might be done to them or their child in some sport. I've been in BC for over 40 years and had enough kids go through BCISD that this is not the first witch hunt to be seen. None were pretty to watch. This one wasn't either.
  4. Jaden Dillon did not go to Sam Moore last summer for pitching. He went to Sam the summer between 8th grade and freshman year which must be the year you are referring to. As a freshman, he continued to go to Sam for once a week for six months and Sam helped him a lot with technique. As a freshman he was over pitched and ended up with elbow injury/pain. After 6 trips to a Houston doctor and $4000 worth of tests, he was told not to pitch for 6 months. As a sophmore, he returned to Sam for one month before breaking both of his hands in a basketball game in late Dec. Since one of the bones broken was the bone at the joint connecting his right index finger to his hand, it affected his release of the ball. Not much pitching happened in sophmore year. The doctor in Houston told him that he would have less chance of reinjury if he could not go into baseball season with a cold arm. So for the following junior and senior years, he would go to Sam once a month for the months of Sept - Nov. After that, basketball just took up too much time. Since he did not pitch at all in junior year, he went to Sam in senior year to keep the arm in shape to hopefully keep from injury and it helped to be so able to throw a stronger ball from the outfield. I hope you are equally as wrong with your opinion of him never pitching in a college game. Not a very good thing for a pitcher that is still in the playoffs to read about himself from a BC supporter.
  5. St. Thomas had some BIG boys on that team. Their starting pitcher could throw that ball. Good batting team also. Having Biggio on the field as a first base coach was awesome. I think BC boys might have been star struck in the first inning. BC rallied again with their bats. Way to go Cardinals. Homeruns by Dillon and Breaux. Great game tied 10-10 at the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, 2 on base, with a full count Dillon bats in the winning run. On to Playoffs!
  6. Biggio's son plays on the freshman team and BC is playing the varsity team. There are 4 other assistant coaches plus a Head JV and a Head Freshman coach. I wouldn't think Biggio would make the trip for a warm up game that his son is not playing in even though it would be nice to have him in BC.
  7. That's Dillon not Dillion from BC with the no hitter shut out against Sulphur, there is no second "i". The BC defense was excellent for that game- they made a lot of great catches and throws.
  8. Are ya'll sure Dillon is playing baseball this year? The article in the Orange Leader a couple of weeks ago didn't mention him as a returning player for BC.
  9. HJ has a good team - no doubt about that. However, there is NO excuse for the rudeness of the hecklers. I can't understand how the principal, superintendent, athletic diretor, and/or their parents let them behave in such a manner. I can certainly see cheering your team on, but they need some instruction on how to do that without being rude. It is shame the hecklers have to ruin their teams name with that behavior. It is hard to even wish a good team like HJ luck in the playoffs when they have such horrid manners. I hope Silsbee takes it, just because they were well mannered when beating BC by as much as HJ did. I agree, the BC cheerleader didn't handle herself at her best, but some people don't respond to rude taunting as well as they should. The point is, if HJ had respect for themselves and anybody else it would have never came to that point.
  10. BC has a new coach. That might have made a difference in the way the players play this year.
  11. Don't be happy your son is skinney, get his but in the weight room and start eating.
  12. I'm like alot of parents, I think all athletes should be tested prior to their sport season, but money always is an issue. I heard this idea tossed around and I'm just wondering what others thought. Don't really know if I agree with it or if it would work. What if only the record breaking athletes and winning district teams were steroid tested just to make sure that the advancements were all clean. That would save money by not testing them all, and it would elimate the random testing (which is really not random at all because little pumped up Johnny or Sally never seem to have their names pulled for testing if you notice). It it almost like some schools seem to take the "if we don't know then we don't have to deal with it" approach. It is sad that we as parents and schools have had to come to this point of even having this discussion. If I even had an idea that my son was taking steroids, I would as a parent have him tested. With all the talk this year, this is one season I was glad my kid is skinny. Maybe just the talk of all around testing will get the few that may be on enhancements to stop. I hope all districts have a clean and safe season for all sports next year.
  13. Does anybody know if BC's Stringer or Angelle were drafted and in what round? I know they were both going to wait, but just wondering. Couldn't find it on the MLB site.
