  1. Clemens should crucify the trainer and everyone else that felt that it was ok to publish names without concrete proof. Personally, I think baseball had to pull up a big name to take the heat off of Bonds. JMO

  3. Honestly, they should go back to picking eleven postions for each side of the ball, and pick the very best. Only then will the all-district picks have merit. The way it is now is just a watered down method of making parents happy.
  4. And the funniest part is that Vidor was not the last place team....LCM was and they got more picks than Vidor did. To you Diamond-J....you apparently never saw Larry Williams play. He is definitely well above average.
  5. Very good post, bullets....IMO, and it's just my opinion....Larry Williams of Vidor could have easily been on, at least, second team.
  6. Personally, I think if they utilize the new kid, they can definitely have the 3rd spot.
  7. He's a great kid and his team mates think alot of him.
  8. I don't care what any of you think about this game, KK Little is a Hoss! Way to play KK....keep it up!
  9. Congrats to all. Why are the honorable mentions not listed?
  10. You pick the "best of the best", the "top guns". PERIOD.....regardless of the fact that they may all come from one or two schools. Giving everyone a trophy just to spread the wealth among districts defeats the purpose of having All-District picks.
  11. I have to ditto this one. He is one fun kid to watch!
  12. While this is all true, the last few games the Seniors played their hearts out. Especially Friday night.
  13. Ultimately grades are the responsibility of PARENTS!!!! Hellloooooooooooo people.
  14. In the overall big picture of life, what do you people want for your kids? Is it the memory of a winning football season. The dusty trophy on the wall saying they made first team all district/all state this or that? Are you wanting them to be noticed by the NFL? What exactly is it that you want for them in the ultimate end of their high school years? How many professional athletes will Vidor, or any other school district around here, ever produce? What are the odds? I think back to when I was in high school and I couldn't tell you who won what game against who (and yes, I was at all of them). I don't know about you all but, I want my children to be well rounded, productive, respectible, hard working adults with a sense of respect and loyaty to their families, friends community and co-workers. Are we adults, and I say WE, slamming their coaches (whom the majority of them love) doing anything at all to help them succeed in the "big picture of life"? When you slam their coaches and talk about the horrible mistakes and plays, you are slamming them as well. Yours, mine and ours!
  15. If I remember correctly, during that seven year drought at WB, was when they started Ozen and all the GOOD/better than average athletes were sent to Ozen. That, in itself, left Eskue and Rabb NOTHING to work with, much less win! Both of those guys have many winning records, WHEN they were able to coach good athletes. Do your homework and stop living a false dejavue.
  16. That's really too bad then. I thought Vidor was special and different than other places. They always seemed to have their priorities in line and focused on the big picture in the game of life. I guess they've fallen into the same old sick thought processes of parents having to have their little crows shine the "blackest". Like I said before, you people better be careful what you wish for....you just may get it. Coach Mathews and his entire coaching staff are wonderful people. They care about our kids as people and treat them with respect. There is so much more to coaching than chalking up W's. In the big picture of things, it's about teaching these kids life lessons and perseverance. Of course, I saw BISD do the exact thing to a head coach at Westbrook a few years ago and they cut loose a first class coach. Why should Vidor or any other community be any different than the rest?
  17. He's psychic! Or else, he's the god of coaching staffs and is going to ride in on his black and gold horse and deliver us Tom Landry. Piratesocalledfaithful, Do you know why those kids are suspended? Do you know that there are SEVERAL seniors that have been playing with MAJOR injuries? What exactly do you know about the inside that these coaches are dealing with? Go ahead, smite me again....I really do not care! BTW, please don't ever admit that you are a Vidor graduate. Your writing and grammar lack alot of intelligence.
  18. sounds like French and Forest Park 30 years ago!
  19. Yep, but he'll just create himself another user name and start over again under the pretense of being someone else!
