Wow, you were able to deduce from a football game in the early 70's that Dayton was unable to think???  What sense does this make?  I mean seriously, was this meant as a blow to Dayton?  Did you think about this before writing it???  Did your obviously faster moving brain say "you know what self, this will show everyone my great intelligence and wit?"  Look I understand you may still be living in the early 70's when trash talking was not yet an art form and half the people on this board were yet to be born, but did you add anything to the discussion about who would win saturday or why Vidor was a better team than Dayton or even anything to the back and forth smack talk that's been going on all week?  The answer is no, no, and no...makes me want to move this to a thread similar to the Sunday Night Football's "C'mon Man" section. PS - My grandpa called and said Dayton was full of themselves in the '40's as well and we started thinking when the city council passed the "yes you may now think" bill in the mid 80's.  Thank god we had a good mayor then....
I am just laughing at the idea of Vidor and the use of the word "think'! I mean I don't believe it would be that appropriate for me to mention some of those short falls, plus I think it really goes without saying. So now with that this is about a football game on a field in a stadium this Saturday night.

They've proved that they cannot pass the ball. Also, Vidor has a hard time defending the pass. Dayton wins BIG.
I dont know if you have seen any of our games or not, but Vidor can and does pass the ball.
I have seen Vidor play. All but 1 district game. The passing game isnt there. They try to pass and arent successful. The only pass that ever gets completed is a dump off pass to the halfback. And that doesnt always get completed. Besides that, the ball never gets completed or its a sack most of the time.
I haven't seen Vidor Play but I have seen highlights and yes Vidor does pas and passes pretty well. One one game, James Laramore caught a one handed pass in a games that was for alot of yards. We have some pretty good recievers. They may not be the best but they can catch the ball.
Let's say it again 423 passing yards, he must have caught nearly the bulk of those on his really amazing one handed grab that was for a lot of yards~~!!!
 3. I bet if Dayton throws 5 INTs they will lose too, but I bet they don't do that!!!
 4.
20-4a is a mediocre district.  Dayton continues the domination of the brass triangle.  We love beating you guys.  Reality sets in for Vidor on saturday.....basketball begins monday.
I am having a conversation about that very thing right now, LOL!

From what I can tell in your regular season you played a couple of good teams last year being Friendswood and C.E. king. Who in the world have you played this year to judge yourselves against?  A friendswood team that is not even close to what they were last year and they still beat you by a point,  when you came back it was almost in trash time. Crosby beat you 28-0. I don't think that you have any where near as good a team this year as the last 2 years? I guess just a question prove to me otherwise. Good luck to both teams.
Defensively this team is better than last years team, after the player switching that was done before the Barbers Hill game. Moving Jakari from running back to linebacker was an AWEsome move. Jakari will most likely be the quickest player on the field on every play. Moving Ploch back to receiver makes the offense better also, the key is how far can a sophomore qb take you. Offensively this team isn't as dynamic as the one with AJ and Cody making the plays, but the athletes Dayton has on offense will match up or be better than the ones that are on the other side of the ball. Hope to see a good game Saturday against Vidor. Vidor will have to slow down the Broncos. No way does Vidor keep up with the Broncos if it turns into a scoring match. If Vidor does get down by more than two scores early on, it could easily turn into an ugly game. FYI... Last week in Austin the freshmen primarily played the 4th quarter and still held LBJ scoreless.
I guess my question is that or maybe it is a statement that none of this years players have been tested to see how good they are I don't really care how fast a player is if they can't make a good tackle when they get there. Don't get me wrong deep down I think that it will be a MAJOR accomplishment for Vidor to win and they are definetly the underdogs in this contest. But to be honest with you nothing that Dayton has done has struck fear in me last and the year before the teams definetly had a different look and feetl about them when you saw them. You say that this team is better definsevely but you really can't prove it by any performance that Dayton has had this year. From what I can find nobody that Dayton has beat up on has been a real contender or even a real solid team.  Like I said last year and the year before those teams had beat somebody or at least been tested. From all that I see 19-4A was a much tougher district last year withe the exception of GCM of course. I know that you'll are probably going to win but you have a long way to go to proving to me that you are the best in this region.
Yeah trust me you will see LBs tackling when they get to their targets!!!
You are probably right I know that you have good linebackers but you still haven't told me how good were they players that they were tackling behind the line of scrimage were. I guess you can't prove to me just how good your team is,I guess we will just have to settle it on the field and stop bragging about how good we suppossedly are on this board! When you really haven't done anything but beat up on much inferior teams and the teams that were close to you well 28-0 says a lot.     I just want to add good luck to both teams and God Bless, have a safe journey and return. I also want to tell you that I was cheering for you the last 2 years on your deep play-off runs I just believe that this team is different from those and very beatable.
You are totally right, I mean it is a fact that Dayton has not seen this stacked a backfield all season, in terms of production. On the other hand Vidor has not seen a team that is tried and tested like Dayton either, after all the last three seasons alone Dayton has played what is it 40 games of regular season and postseason ball, yeah 4 seasons worth. Throw in some scrimmages, which Dayton plays game situation in, not traditional 30/30 or whatever that horrid and much benine system entails. So take with this experience the testing you so desire to see from all of that playing time. But hey lets just see these kids do it on the field in Bowers Stadium this Saturday night and enjoy!

Easy path with PNG, Angleton, Yates , El Campo, Brenham, etc. And to the poster who replies it MIGHT be a little over simplification, you are the master of understatement. I am amazed no one else has jumped this clown. Hope all the Dayton fans and players are thinking like that!!
Oh its a tall piece of corn for them Broncos, LOL!!!!

 15. I always wonder why non-press people/ coaches/ officials are worried about getting to the top of the place??? We don't need an elevator for people's curiosity! Also as for the visitors side being small would you show me a list of anything aside from the obvious large facilities (Stallworth, Berry, Thorne, etc.) that have anything near as large!
 16.
Winning breeds overconfidence apparently....don't worry Vidor....the competition you've played this year is FAR BETTER than the super weak 19-4A.  The wing-t will prevail!!
Yeah that wrasler Bob Backlund was always succesful with it, wait that was the cross faced chicken wing, oh well keep cluckin!!!!
 17. Im giving it to Brandon Carpenter for the mess he inherited just days before 2 a days in Tarkington, especially if they can muster a win Friday!

Now Lumberton stumps a mud hole back in dayton this year in a big game this year (oh sorry scrimmage) Dayton thinks they are games. Even with that said Dayton better be glad they weren't in 20-4A this year.
Can I have some of that dope???
 20. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC and JUST AWESOME!!!! Anyone else catch it via Direct TV??????????
 21. I had remarked on if and when about 3A voting for this earlier and they did in fact already conduct a urvey, if there was an overwhelming desire they will do it this year.
 22.

Not "scared" of them, just have a lot of respect... They are the top rated team in Region III, and they will come out of the toughest district in this region (probably undefeated). To get out of this region it seems like they are the team to beat. Still a huge chance they will go into either Division I or Division II. If you scan through the districts in Region III, besides the teams from Angleton's district, and Brenham, there isn't much there. This is the year a team from 19-4A or 20-4A can sneak through this region and make it to semi-finals. If Angleton does go Division II, they would be on the PN-G side of the bracket (20-4A #1 seed) and they would square off in week 3, if both teams keep winning (which I believe would be the case). Dayton's side of the bracket will get Brenham (which I don't think is as good as Angleton).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Brenham, as District 18 4A champions, will be in the same bracket as PN-G and Angleton.  The winner of PN-G/Brenham would most likely face Angleton in the 3rd round.  Probably the 3 top teams in the entire region will hook up early on.  Sometimes it works out that way!
Dayton plays Brenham in 3rd round on their half of the bracket, meaning that PNG would fave Angelton in 3rd round as well. Basically I am calling for an all purple Region III final, only I think it will be a shade of Wildcat Purple vs Bronco Purple!!
 23. Do we know if/ when 3A and 4A will vote on this?? Thought 3A was already suppose to have done so???
 24. Well I am a bit partial to the Dayton Broncos and loved my time spent in Diboll, so thats my teams. But of course I also enjoy my coverage now a days of The Hill, Goose Creek, Lee, Sterling, Anahuac, Huffman, Tarkington, Cleveland, Hardin, West Hardin, Liberty, Hull-Daisetta and of course Dayton!
