It's the start of District 11-3A-I play for the Woodville Eagles tonight as they host the Warren Warriors. Ty Robinson's Eagles, 2-1 on the season, finished their non-district season on a good note, defeating Liberty 21-17 last Friday. I agree. To label KIPP schools as being some sort of handicapped school is unfair. They are very good charter schools made of students whose parents were tired of them being part of the circus that is HISD yet could not afford the St. John's and Kinkaids of the world. Is this game going to be a mismatch? Yes. But that is no reason to get ugly about these young men that are representing their school. BTW, there is a Texas School for the Deaf. You will probably never see them on a schedule of a team around here because year in and year out, they can more than hold their own.

The good news that Coach Hooker got was quickly darkened as I learned that he had to rush a family member to the hospital. Prayers to Coach Hooker and his family in this time.
