DO NOT COME UP HWY290!!!!  You will be there forever!
Grad- Coming from SETX, that is more than likely the best route. I-10 will be packed, as well as the beltway. It's really pick your poison, or leave a lil early and be prepared to wait.
I would go the Beltway and I mean take it from the East Side and take it all the way around to the West Side.  Once you get to the west Side is when you will have to pick the poison.  You can exit off of the Tollway North to 290 and take the Eldridge exit, but I don't recommend it.  I would go a little farther south and exit West Little York then take W Little York west tp Eldridge and then up to Cy Ridge.
Not a bad idea, but the beltway is so congested now a days. Now if they had a speed pass, that would be a different story.
It can be but the alternative, to take I-10 to Eldridge, might be better, but not by much.  If you have a passenger, you can take the HOV, but you'll have to get out of that at the Beltway in order to make the Eldridge exit. and the traffic between the Beltway and Eldridge is a BIT heavy.
