1. Caveats:  The times and dates of schedules are EXTREMELY fluid, so check back often to see if any changes have been made.  These are only the approximate varsity scrimmage start times. Once I get a more complete version of the schedules, I will convert it to a composite schedule so that those who would like to see more than one scrimmage will be able to do so.  If you have further information that might supplement or correct info I might have, please post it here! 2.
I see it remained a secret on SETX that La Porte was the introduction picture to the High School section. And also that La Porte is a Dark Horse pick for State. Why does my Titan and Bruin brothers ignore La Porte? Have we not earned your respect?  Let's face it, we will be in the same distric for another 3 realignments. I believe its time we arre ingivted officially into the Members only tent :) KILL DA DEER!!!!!!
Who says that you aren't in the tent?  La Porte has gained full membership status including the inclusion in all SETXsports polls (which the football poll is being formed as we write).

 6. While I hate to see him leave WO-S, I am pleased that he gets this opportunity. Congratulations, Coach Hancock!
 7. Coach Holmes has quite a resume. He played at Stephen F. Austin from 1993-1997.  In 1998, he signed a contract with the Calvary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. In 1999, he started his coaching career at Baytown Lee as an assistant and was head girls' track coach.  From 2000-2006, Coach Holmes was defensive coordinator at Washington High in Houston where he was also head girls' soccer coach.  He did a couple of year stint at Baytown Sterling where he was assistant head coach/defensive coordinator and head boys soccer coach. For the past four years, Holmes has been the defensive backs coach at Elsik High in Alief and has also worked with the soccer teams there. It looks like Kelly will be his first varsity football head coaching job. Source:  [Hidden Content] Congratulations, Coach Holmes and welcome back to Southeast Texas!

 21. Thanks to Pearland Dawson Head Coach Lori McLaughlin for the 2012 Lady Eagles schedule and to Port Neches-Groves athletic secretary Amanda Delcambre for the 2012 Rock-a-Noos' schedule.
 22. According to Carl Padilla, operator of the Padilla Poll.  There have been 254 coaching changes this past offseason.  This is a record, according to Carl.
 23. They will be.  It seems where they are short right now is on assistant coaches.  And it looks like they will probably lose another as early as Thursday with Coach Hancock possibly moving to East Chambers to take the boys' head basketball coaching position.

Smith, who although he has seen very little action on the varsity level (2-2, 19 yd in limited varsity play last year) is getting the interest of a few colleges.  Among those who will be stepping in to carry the running load will be senior Spencer Wommack ( 13 carries, 71 yd, 1 TD in 2011).  Leading the Indian receivers will be junior Logan Chipman (1st team all district, 33 catches, 353 yd, 4 TD in 2011).  He will be joined by junior receiver Jeremiah Rose and senior tight end Tim Clopton.  The Indians do return experience on the offensive line in senior Justin Reasons (2nd team all district in 2011) and juniors Alan Sorriano and Chris Mangini.      2012 Defense Defense: 3-4 Returning starters: 5 The Indian defense will also return five starters on defense.  Up front, senior Josh Riley will be called upon to lead a line which should also include newcomers senior Steven Mangini and junior Austin Milan.  Returning starters Dalton Peveto and Logan Warlick will anchor a linebacker corp which will also include senior Dillard Youngblood.  Senior cornerback Kaleb Clark (2nd team all district in 2011) will team with fellow senior Dillon Hebert to provide the backbone of the Indian secondary. 2012 Key games Port Neches-Groves will begin the regular season in Silsbee on August 31st with another 21-3A team, West Orange-Stark, visiting a week later.  The Indians will host Lumberton on September 28th to begin district 20-4A play.  Nederland crosses the railroad tracks for the annual Mid-County Madness game on October 19th.  The Indians will finish the regular season in Livingston on November 9th.
