  1. Coach Trawhon has his on style of coaching, some people agree with it, some don't. But his record at Silsbee say's he is doing something right. As in business a coach has to make decisions some are right and you get praised, Some are wrong and you get bashed. A coach in any sport has to look at every players ability and than decide what does that player bring to the table (how can that player help the team) There may be two or three players with the same ability in the field but one maybe a better hitter or vise/versa. Coaches have a tuff job, not only do they need to produce a winning team they have to deal with little Johnny's mommy and daddy in there face. They also have to be looking at next year and the year after that and try to keep a winning team ready to step up.

  2. After last nights BC & Silsbee game it's Silsbee or BC that could take the top spot the way I see it it is going to be a two horse race for the district crown.

I have to agree with Big Cat, Silsbee's defense has really came together the last couple of games and there bats are not far behind. I think they will get it all pulled together by next tuesday when they play WOS in Silsbee.

  3. On a couple of occasions when the catcher has to dive out to catch the ball and it is called a strike, that may answer your question.  It was called consistently for both sides but not by the book.  I thought Silsbee blew a golden opportunity when they had runners at 2nd & 3rd with the #4 hitter up and tried a squeeze play with 2 strikes, I believe with 1 or no outs.  He fouled it back for a strikeout.  Don't understand the thinking there.

The coach was just trying to make something happan, With the ump's and good pitching by Stringer he was trying to get some runs.

  4. seen silsbee in practice would have some concern about defense but with a strong arm and the other teams batters turning left and sitting down the defense is not that big of a deal.

but woodville is known for the sticks

Silsbee's defense has really come on strong the last couple of games and there bats are not far behind

  5. Has anyone heard anything about the buckholtz kid.....how is he doing
