Just got some good news from the owner. He has found the problem and will be making the fix tonight. This change should allow everyone to access the site with any device without any issues.
    Fingers crossed!!!

Bullets has ridden with me maybe 40 times on patrol. He has walked in with other officers on family distbances or other situations that might lead to a police confrontation, arrest, fight, etc. I think the only time that I asked him to stay back was a home invasion in progress where there was a reasonable chance of shots being fired.
I had no clue how other officers might respond or what he might see. I could care less as there is nothing to hide. He has seen one situation get out of hand that resulted in resisting arrest and a struggle between officers that were outnumbered when a larger group turned on the officers. Ask how these officers responded when the aggressors (who were minorities)  were clearly not the police.
Lately it has been common for someone to post a photo of an officer changing a tire or doing some other good deed that is not required as part of the job and can easily be avoided. Then the inevitable comments come that are something like, "See, not all officers are bad".  It seems the implication is that a person discovered the one good cop out of 10. In truth, the anomoly is not the officer changing the tire or buying the homeless guy a pair of shoes, etc., it is the bad officer. Officers a thousand times a day do things at their own expense or labor that go unnoticed by the public and they rarely even tell their fellow officers about it. They're not doing it for recognition.
At my  department a couple of weeks ago, we received an email from a citizen from Indiana.  The email stated that a woman have been stranded  and basically had no clue where she was. Unfortunately this person met and fell in love with another person on the Internet.  After going to southwest Louisiana to meet up with the love connection, the rose colored glasses came off. After a brief relationship they woman found out something like the guy was a drunk and abusive.  The guy ended up slapping her around and then driving her to Texas and dropped her off on the side of the highway.  A concerned citizen was passing by and saw someone that needed help and called. That is when the police got involved.  We could find no crime that had been committed in Texas however we had an obviously distraught and stranded person that really had no clue where she was at.  One officer got permission from a supervisor to bring her back to the police station to get her out of the weather and to see if they could find her any help.  Between the officers they collected some money and were able to get her a ride that eventually ended up back at home in Indiana.  None of that was known until a couple of months later when the email came in and the woman described what happened and stated that she had gotten her old job back. A brief check with the officers confirmed that the incident did happen as the woman described. No one really knew because the officers did not go out of their way to tell anyone.  They simply helped a person out of their own pocket and went on with their lives. That is the routine, not the current spin of officers out of control or systematic and organized corruption. The anomoly is the bad officer and not the one officer caught on camera helping an old person across the street.

This was not her first contact, you can tell she has that timing down. And yeah...why wasn't the ump watching to make sure the run scored/touched home. This whole thing is insane and she should suffer some sort of consequence.
I do give props to the Huffman girls for not reacting, you know that took quite a lot of self restraint!

Baseball coach and band director worked together for him this year. He was still pulled in different directions at times, but for the most part, it worked out okay. Much better than his basketball.
You don't see many kids that go both athletics and band...and are successful at both. So sometimes the coaches and director don't really know how to handle it. BC has more than a few musical athletes this year and more to come as our enrollment grows each year, so I'm sure they will learn how to make it all work. While there have been a couple of moments of frustration, it's not been a bad experience for us. And he's having a blast!
I don't want to come across as bashing or speaking too negatively about Coach Knight and his program. He was always very nice and professional when I spoke to him about this issue. Even pulled my kiddo aside and talked to him about the situation. While we disagreed, it was never ugly. My youngest son just finished up at the basketball camp Knight coordinates and he had a blast. I'm glad that he plans to stay with BC and wish him luck in the future.

I have a kid in band and athletics. He played basketball his freshman year, which starts before marching season is over, and we were in the marching band "playoffs", preparing for Area. He went to basketball practice before school, had the 4th period basketball class, and then would go march for a couple hours then run over to after school basketball practice. Coach made him stay after practice to run and shoot extra because he was late to practice. Somehow the before school and during class wasn't enough. I questioned why the football players that were in the playoffs that weren't even going to basketball practice, why they weren't having to run. Oh, neither were the cross country runners that were missing the before school practice. "Band doesn't count." Needless to say, kiddo didn't play basketball after that year. He did it just for fun, we aren't a basketball powerhouse, and he's not trying to get college looks.
So there's your answer, band doesn't count. Unless you're a band kid/parent....it's kind of a big deal. Oh, and don't mind our mess ....we just don't have anywhere else to put our trophies, there's just too many!

Personally I think it's great for kids to be involved in multiple activities/sports.  That's one of the great things about small-to-medium sized high schools.  It would be nice if the different coaches and/or directors could find a way to work together better, but it just doesn't always happen.  And once you hit that level, it becomes the kid's choice as to what they want to do if they are forced to choose.

Horrible umpiring for both teams. Behind the plate, but also in the field. At least 3 blown calls in the field.

From 2000 (year we went to 3A) thru 2006 the football program went 56-31 with 2 DC, 8 playoff wins, and 3 rounds deep 3 times. I would say the program was headed in the right direction. Since 2007 its been 35-50 with no playoff wins. Complete opposite direction. While I agree we've never been a football power there's no reason we can't compete and make a little noise every year.

And I hate saying this but its fact its not as if BC has ever been a football juggernaut folks. Its my hometown so I'm not just talking crap here. Stump didn't drive some powerhouse program into the ground. Its far from reason he was let go

This rivalry is an old one, dating back to when I was in school (ahem, which wasn't that long ago) and we were in the same district. Orangefield took that spot when BC moved down. Without OF to "rival", it had to be someone, so why not go back to LCM?

Right now, it's just some pretty entertaining smack talking on twitter, nothing particularly ugly. I think the BC fans know it's a longshot to win, but the school spirit has been pretty amazing to watch. I hope the kids back up their plans and show up Friday night ready to support the Cardinals, win or lose.

I've seen us lose some games, but watched those boys leave it ALL on the field. I'm a band mom, and not really concerned about the scoreboard. But I can tell you, even the band kids are pumped, ready to show LCM that a smaller school can still put on an amazing show.
