2. I only met coach Barbay once. I was with a friend in coach's office along with his assistant coaches when they played for the state championship in 2005 I think. He was a good man and an excellent coach. He was going to retire at the end of this year or next. He earned a long retirement but did not get it. He did so much for Newton HS and the community. He will be missed. It just wont seem the same without him being the leader of the Eagles.  I feel so sorry for him and his family. My prayers are with them.
3. He played on the '93 BC team and before. He graduated in 1994 I believe. I thought he would be in the big time. He played on my son's pee wee football team when he was 7 or 8, I believe, and he attempted xtra points when they scored. He made one the year I remember. He was a good kid and I am proud of him as an NFL player.
4. Bridge obviously had the better team out there tonight. However, BC never seemed to get fired up. The score could have been much higher if BC had played like they did against Kirbyville. No I am not saying that BC should have run the score up. I guess after a game like last week it was hard to be up for a team that they did not have to try hard to beat. I am glad that next week will be an open date. BC needs to heal up and take a rest and come back fired up and ready to play football. Go Cardinals.
5. I have cardiac arrhymathia with an ICD, internal cardiac defibrillator, implant. I have had cardiac arrest two times. If Reggie indeed did have a cardiac arrhymathia and his heart went into cardiac arrest I would think that the parametics could have revived him with a difibrillator assuming that the ambulance has one and I think they do. I don't know if this is what happened or not as I don't pretend to know all there is about arrhymathias. RIP Reggie.
6. It doesn't sound like Andrew Lack left Nederland for athlectic purposes. It sounds like he left because he was disgruntled with the coaches decision or something else related to the decision the coaches made. I don't know how the vote will go. He has to live in the PNG school district to go there to my understanding. That may be the reason he chose PNG to transfer to instead of another school, ex...a relative's address.

8. I never know what to say in a time like this. What can one say that can comfort the situation. It is such a tragic to loose a son, team mate, friend, at such an early age. God has his reasons but we cannot understand them. We just trust in God and believe that our loved one is now with him. I pray for Reggie, his family, and team mates that they can somehow accept this and know that God always has a plan. May God have mercey on his sole, may God bless his sole, and may his sole rest in peace.

I hope there is counceling at the school on Monday and that the kids can cope with this situation and that the team can again come together. Keep up the good faith guys.

BC did bring that same ref crew from when they played Vidor. terrible
Very true this is terrible!!! come on refs
Its amazing how many times a team can get some "Extra Seconds" on the clock.  Kville is running the clock and the clock was at 000 and the refs give BC an extra second on the clock.  The end of our first half against BC they are running the clock the clock doesnt run on the last play and they get a chance to kick a field goal instead of going to the locker room.  TERRIBLE
I'm not sure but I think the actual time is kept out on the field. Not sure.

12. PNG lost their first game to a very good Gregory Portland team. It is a game they could have won just as easly as they lost. A one point game. The second loss was from a 3-0, now, Texas City team that won in the last seconds with a field goal. There were two pass interference calls on the winning drive. That is all part of football. The announcers said that the penalties didn't look legit but they were not on the field and the refs are. It too is a game they could have easily have won as well as lost. They could be 3-0 with just a little luck. But that is the way football is. I do believe that Gregory Portland and Texas City could be the two best teams if they were in this district. I would rate the teams as follows:

1. PNG
2. Ozen
3. Nederland
4. LCM/Lumberton
6. Central
7. Livingston
8. Vidor

This is just the way I see it. My Opinion only. It is still a little early in the season. When district starts everyone will get a better feel for it and my predictions could change drastically.

Kirbyville

WOS

Bridge City

the Tailgate show on Ch 6 just said the game of the week next week is BC @ Kirbyville and said it was Jasper County's best 3A team vs. Orange County's best 3A team!!
Well WOS played FW to within one point. I think they are the best team in Orange county until someone else in Orange county beats them.

i expect some picks if kelly throws a bunch 3 of the 4 secondary player coming back an there all studs at the highschool level
Kelly has passed for over 200 and ran for 100 in both of there games this season. Very balanced. Also Eddins hasn't thrown a pick all year.
you throw these stats out as if you've played a team comparable to bc... just because you do that to westbury christian school and east chambers doesnt mean you will come close to doing that to bc! i dont think the bulldogs will sniff the endzone in this game.

bc big!

I don't know Venom. BC scrimmaged EC this year and it was a tough scrimmage. I think the game could be a close one.

I'm not asking for names. I'm asking what would be the attraction.

I would say the exotic nightlife that the metropolis of Newton has to offer. ;) ;D

Also, being that it is only a 5 minute drive to Bon Weir is a plus. ;)

They have no time to duck us when they spend all their time whipping your team.

Kinda of like this?

1988 wo-s 51 png 0
1990 wos  35 png 14
1991 wos 35 png 16
1993 wos 42 png 10
1997 wos 25 png 0
2001 wos 28 png 0

We've taken some whippings from them but don't act like you haven't :)
I know that PNG has beaten WOS in at least one game, maybe more. I think they have played some close games also. I was wondering. What is the record with PNG verses Nederland?

Listen fwstangs...
Get out your pen, get out your book, write it down...
42 - 38 WOS
Take that to the bank and use it as collateral, because it's as good as gold.
This holds as much credence as BC Card saying Vidor won't score against BC.
19. I watched the game on the internet. PNG played well enough to win the game. Luck was going their way earlier in the game. Momentum shifted when GP completed a long pass that led to their first TD. It was the first game of the season and a high profile one at that. Both teams probably had the jitters. PNG had a droped pass that would have been a TD. The game could have gone either way. Only inches from a first down and PNG probably could have gotten a littler closer. Kicked the field goal and won. The coaches will have the team ready to play this Friday. I believe PNG has the team that could go the rest of the way to the play-offs and be 9-1. Time will tell. JMO Good luck to the Indians and all the other teams in that district.
