1. The lake is known as a recreation lake for the city of Houston. However, there a some large bass caught out of the lake every year, you just have to know where to fish for them. Mostly under docks because the lake has been stocked with carp twice that I know of and they eat up all the grass, hydrilla, and just about all other vegitation.
2. Neither teams fans should be boasting about "why we won" or "why we lost". It sounded like a good game, I wasn't there. I am sure the umps did the best they were capable of. I really don't think any ump would purposely make a bad call. I know bad calls are made sometimes but I think they are just missed calls. And, hey, that is just baseball. It even happens sometimes in the pros. Rarely though, I think. The next game is going to be played in Bridge City. I plan on being there and I hope to see the two best teams in the district play another close game. Good luck to both teams.
3. Well if PNG does win it certainilly will be a big win for them and they can certainilly win it. They have the tallent both on the mound and in the field as well as at the plate. However, LCM is playing great right now. I don't see them slacking off any. LCM probably will pull this out in a close one but that is why they play the game.

I believe he is talking about Coach Curtis Hamilton.  Harper is just the AD.  Although I wouldn't be surprised if Harper takes over the football duties and they let Hamilton go.

Actually, I thought Harper took back over at football coach at the beginning of this past season.

Doesn't surprise me about Hamilton, he is been in dutch with the Burkeville ISD for over a year now.  He darn near got fired last year!
It is Hamilton and he is in trouble for another similar reason as last year.

For the ones complaining about them shutting it down to public. The reasons consist of people breaking into the concession stand on the home side and also breaking into the press box. These are the reasons why the coach closed the stadium and track down. Now we have to keep the adults from jumping over the fence by the visitors side so they can run stands.

In addition to the above I was also told that there was some spray painting done on the concession stands also. Don't know if this is true but I don't blame Burnette for closing the stadium after all of this happened.
6. Toledo Bend has been low for 5 or 6 month I guess. I don't remember when they drew it down to work on the dam. I do know, however, they are not in a hurry to let it fill back up. I checked this morning and the level is 164.66 feet. That is a rise from the last rain up north of the dam by about 1/10 of an inch. If I am not wrong the new law said that they are not supposed to generate when the level is below 168 feet. They are running one generator for two hours a day, (6AM to 8 AM today) which is releasing 7794 cubic feet per second. I thought they were only supposed to maintain a minimum flow down streem which is 204 cubic feet per second. This is not going to help the spawn in my opinion. Does anyone know what is going on?
7. As far as Kirbyville having talent back next year, I don't know. I have a good friend in Newton that says that Kirbyville will not have a deep run in the play-offs again anytime soon. That the tallent will be gone. Weather that is true or not I don't know. Alverez may want to move now if it is true. It would be easer to get a better offer when you have had the success he has had the last few years. A bad talent year could hurt his chances if the win/loss record goes down. Again I don't know anything about the returning talent. If he does stay I'm sure he will get the most out of the talent he has and field a competive team. He is a very good coach.

I just looked at the 4A district rankings in the KOGT wedsite and Vidor wasn't listed.  Does Vidor not exist in Orange County?  Unusual.  Any answers?

KOGT doesn't cover Vidor football. Maybe they were just ranking the teams they cover. I do not know what teams were listed but that may be the reason why Vidor was not listed.
9. I haven't been fishing in a while. The water is so low and finding a good place to launch is a problem. We have gotten some decent rains lately up there but every time I go the water is a little lower. It seems that the water should have risen a little. It is a good time to work on doc's if need be.
