Ozen had the bases loaded with only one out but hit into a double play.

The parents not wanting their kid to play on the team anymore because of the incident is hurting the kid more than the team. I don't know if he is a senior or not but if he is then he would not get to play high school ball any more. That doesn't seem fair to me. I believe the coach did not want his players playing because they are putting themselves in a potential spot to get injured. Although I don't agree with the coach for not wanting his players to attend the game as spectators, if that is what he said then they should not have attended. The coach does make the rules for the team and they should be adhered to. My opinion only.

BC's offense should be better next year. But for that to happen the whole team will have to have a good summer and work hard. The quarterback will need to strengthen his throwing arm and get a little more accurate with his throws. He can easily do that but he will have to work hard. The line needs to block a lot better. In order to that, again they need to work hard this summer and gain strength. GI Joe is a good running back but could be a little bigger and stronger to help him at his position. He is a good athlete. The receivers need to work with the quarterback on their routs and timing. All of this will depend on the attitude of the players and how bad they want to win. It can happen but they will have to work hard. The defense however, needs to improve in just about every aspect of its game. A lot of work needs to be done there. The defense did not put the team in a winning position except for maybe the HJ game. Other than that game the defense could not stop the offense of any of the opponents. I don't know what it will take to improve the defense other than desire. I'm sure the BC coaches will find the right approach to improve the defense but it will depend on the players desire to improve. As for making the playoffs I wouldn't bet any money yet. Going from 0-10 to the playoffs next year is not likely but it is possible. It will depend on how the team works during the off season and if they can gel together as a team. Good luck Cards. Who were the pitchers for each team?

Bridge City is doing very well at the plate. Cards got 10 hits against J. Parsons on the mound for Jasper. They could have a let down because they beat both Silsbee and Jasper last week. If they just take care of business then the Cards should win.

With Bridge City being as good a team as they have been one would think that they will not have a problem winning the game. However, in baseball any team can beat another on any given night. Bridge City should win the game if they play up to their potential.

I think Larry Newman is a class act. He has been a great coach at Nederland for a long time. He has been good for sports in the golden triangle area. I'm sure the fans in Nederland will feel bad if he does leave. Like I sad he is a class act. He has always been gracious in winning or loosing. He has never rubbed it in if he beat you. If he does leave he will be successfull no mater where he coaches. I think he would be an asset at Lamar if he chooses to go there. I think he could possibly win a state championship if he goes to LM.

Where are the relief pitchers. Hicks was tired in the 7 TH and so was Parsons. Neither coach went to the bull pen. What gives? Two great pitchers tonight and a very good game. I don't know if BC's catcher tagged the batter on the 3 RD strike when the ball was dropped or if he messed up. Some in the stands said he tagged him but I did not see it. That play led to Jasper's first run. Good game.

I have several Shimano Curado 200's and like them real well. I also have several Kistler rods, one being the new helium type, and they are great. Very sensitive. I have one All Star rod that I can't stand. I wish I had never bought it. As soon as I can afford another Kistler I will get rid of the All Star. I also use two Garcia Ambassador 5000 and 5000B reels that I think are great I bought both of them in the early 70's and have never had a problem with them.

Was up at Toledo Bend about 2 weeks ago and the surface temperature was anywhere from 54 to 59 deg. F. depending on where I was at the time. The wind, however, was at least 20 mph sustained and gusted much higher at times. Only stayed a little while in those conditions and caught only one bass. It was a male but in deep water, in the middle of a cove, and was not on any bed. We have had a recent cold snap and it is still pretty cold in the mornings so I hope the span will start soon if it has not already started.

Don't get too wound up circle. I do agree with you that it is not the end of the world. Anyone can be no-hit by a good pitcher on a good day. Everyone knows that Jasper will be in the hunt to repeat as a district champ. The district looks strong again this year and it is going to be a good year.
