I remember driving back from Dallas in 1975 when PNG played Odessa Permian for the state championship and a trucker on a CB was asking other truckers "Hey man, what's a PNG"?

I guess winning is more important to some coaches/programs than the welfare of the kids.

Do you think that some programs condone it or the coaches just look the other way?

I believe Coach Hooks was on Chanel 6 yesterday or the day before saying that he was in favor of testing. He also said that the coaches preach to the kids to not take steriods. I am sure all the schools coaches caution the kids about using steriods.

I am from Bridge City and I support the Indians. The tribe's defense is a proven defense and I hope one that can contain Rogers. If they play like they know they can then I believe PNG can win. PNG was not picked to be in the top three before the season started but look at what they did. They are co-district champs with very good Dayton and Lumberton. I know that PNG is not favored to win but I think they have the team to pull it off. I am pulling for PNG all the way. [move]Scalp um INDIANS Scalp um![/move]

Happy thanksgiving to each and everyone. May each of us be thankful for what God has given us and may each of you enjoy your time with family today. Don't eat too much roasted or fried turkey today. I actually will have both. My mother in law is having traditional roasted turkey at her house and I am frying a turkey at my daughters house this evening. Again, happy thanksgiving.

One of the keys to a successful program is fan turn out. If lamar can produce a competitive team then the stands fill start to fill up. If the team is not so competitive then the fan support will be lacking. This may be what caused the failure the last time. I really do not remember what their record was the last year they played. With high school football so popular in this area Lamar will have to be pretty good to get the fan support.

I have to go with Matt Burnette. He changed his offense when he needed to and won a co-district championship. And also rememeber people wanted his head after the first two games.

It would be awsome to have PNG, Lumberton, and WOS all at Reliant the next week. Good luck to all three teams. Also good luck to Dayton, Jasper, and Kirbyville.
