nope...both Cooks are graduated. As for if it continuing, Nederland will be the favorites, but theres a long time before the game. Anything can happen before then. Out strength right now is run defense. Brenham didnt even run at will on us. It will be interesting to see the Fischer defense vs Mosley matchup. Strength on strength. PNG MUST develop some sort of passing game or everyones going to give us trouble this year. Time will tell if it happens.....

PNG vs Nederland Important number is Nederland is 5-1 since 2000 over PNG. :shock: Newmann owns Burnett. Take away the 2 Dustin Long wins in 98, 99 and the Dogs own the decade. Burnett needs this to change in a hurry!!! :evil: :evil:

COOP, Read today the bottom section of the new board is in fact damaged and will not be put up for Fridays game. Instead they sent it back to be replaced instead of putting it up with a huge dent in it. It should be ready in time for the next home game..... Im thrilled about the new scoreboard, but IMO they should have taken all the money donated and got the big screen with color. In a few years they would have wished they had. Expecially when Nederland comes with theirs next year. They could have paid for the rest of the bill through advertising like the article said Ned will do. JMO but I am happy getting the new one!!!

After attending every game of the 99 playoff run, Id have to say PNG fans are the best. That Stephenville game was unbelievable. I had to sit by the jumbotron in the upperdeck. It was unreal. Nederland fans pack it in as well and are probably, or I know are louder. all that darn barking. when your losing it gets old real fast... But I guess everyone gets real tired of hearing Cherokee over and over and over again too.......Those Beaumont folks from Ozen bring a lot of folks as well....

I just read on the PNG board that the bottom of the new board, part with the down and yardage, was damaged and still wasnt put up. Anyone else heard this? I cant wait to see it Friday regardless...

was nederlands scoreboard damaged from the storm? I always liked the board there when it scrolled the local scores across during the game. I hope our new one will do that. For some reason they NEVER want to announce them over the PA..

1 more thing...i think as of right now we are overrated as well. If we cannot get better play from either of our QB's we will have a hard time beating most anyone in our district. Our offense is so predictable its scary. I think (& hope) it will get better, but as of what I saw last Friday it has to improve. Yet we are still the favorites in alot of peoples books to win tonight, and challenge for a playoff spot in district. There as I said before its just a topic starter, give me a 3 page ad defending the NDNS now...

I dont need someone else to "start it for me". I am a big boy who doesnt need his hand held to state his opinion. This was just a topic starter. They have an underrated topic started on here, now we have an overrated one. Based on your long passionate response I see why now noone wanted to reply. The fact remains the Dogs are an average team with a superstar player that makes them look better than they are,,,hince the word overrated. If Mosley was to miss any significant time do you think they would be rated as high as they are? The offense defense and special teams would all suffer. Thats the reason I stated they are overrated. Not a disrepectful thing its just the truth.

3 things that happened during PNG games: 1. the first season we saw the "Bonzai Man". Man Bridge City had it with that guy. I remember a kickoff when we were up around 35-0 and none of the Cards went to block for there kick returner, they all attacked the Bonzai Man!! They were pissed!! 2. When the LCM Bear tackled the Indian Spirit. (coach it was a male...he had to go to PNG HS and apologize, it was on TV) This had to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen on a football field. The whole game was amazing. PNG was the underdogs playing on the road against a strong LCM team. This "attack" happened before the game on the field. Man were the NDN fans livid. Then PNG jumped to a 21-0 halftime lead and after the NDN band was finishing the halftime show with the marching I, the spirit did his dance on the 50 yd line with the LCM fans were booing like crazy, then he threw his spear into the middle of the field and pointed at the scoreboard. This stuff was made for TV. I thought there was going to be a riot. Next LCM came out and DOMINATED the 2nd half to win the game like 28-21 or something like that. It was a very emotional fun unbelievable game to attend!! 3. To see the PNG and Nederland bands perform God Bless America together at halftime 5 years ago after the 9/11 trajedy. It still gives me goosebumps to think about that time and it was GREAT to see it in person.

OK since I created the thread Ill throw the first one out.... No disrespect but :shock: Nederland :shock: I know I know I know that they are a very good football team so dont come with me with all the venom, but heres my reasons... Sure they played an excellent game vs a good LaMarque squad, but take away the Mosley runs in the 1st half and the had four 1st downs. They didnt move the ball at all. I know LaMarque is tough, but 4 1st downs?? Then they play a team in Forrest Brook who just hired their coach a few months ago, and were really overmatched. The Dogs put a beating on them that was to be expected at home and everyone is on the wagon. Nederland is a good team that most likely will make the playoffs, but after the Forrest Brook game everyone thinks they are better than they are...overrated... They are an injury away from having some problems. We may see a better test for them Friday Night @ Waller (but I know really nothing about Waller). We will see if they prove me wrong by the time district is up......

then this should be a great test for the PNG Defense. So far noone has has success running the ball vs them, not even Brenham. They are good tacklers and are always around the ball. Brenham and Crosby were able to score with the deep ball. Both of Crosbys TD's came late in the game on looong passes vs tired defenders still playing man up. It will be interesting to see what an athletic running team can do against them. At home ill go with the Indians 20-14

Does Silsbee run a run 1st offense, or a spread type? I cannot remember. Or is it a 50/50 balaced type? I cannot remember... :?:

the video of the pop warner coach drilling that 13 yr old kid after drilling his son?? that was UNBELIEVABLE. If he was my kid(the one he hit) he would not have made it off that field, and 2 people would have gone to jail. what an idiot
