this IS typical.....coming from an outsider. Have you seen PNG's team since 1999? You use Ozen and LCM as examples....why not Nederland before they had Newmann? Or West Brook for 10 years before Stump' date=' Or Central before they had Stowers, or PNG before they had Malone. The list could keep going on....Im not saying Burnett is horrible and HAS to go and I will pull 100% for him and the players forever but to say coaching doesnt matter is ridiculas. 3 years Dustin Long was the starting QB PNG's record was 30-7 including the state championship run. Besides those 3 years he has been a .500 coach, including a 4-10 record vs Nederland. (Long has 2 of the wins).

oh yea, for the person that asked....Burnetts overall record at PNG is 82-54. Not bad but remember we are always one of the highest enrolled schools in 20 & 22-4A. We should always be above .500 in this district. We are at least close to as talented as Nederland year in and out and have almost the same enrollment, yet they have owned us this decade. One more thing...his record was 30-7 the 3 years D. Long was the starter here(1997-1999)....so do the math and judge for yourselves....

dont get the wrong idea. there are worse coaches out there and I will stand with Burnett as long as hes there, but you cannot continue to lose to your rival year in-out and expect everyone to be happy. that rule applies at every level of football.

4-8 vs Nederland. Take away the 2 Dustin Long wins and hes only won 2 in 12 years. Including 1-5 this decade.....unacceptable.

Fun game to watch til the very end. The difference in the game to me was the domination of our offense and defensive lines by Nederland. I know Mosely had 275, but he wasnt touched until he was 5/6 yards up the field most of the time. Even when everyone in the stadium knew what was coming PNG couldnt stop it. On the other side we could get nothing going up the middle with Hemmings. They (the lines) were the difference in the game tonight. Anyway it was fun as usual and good luck the rest of the season to you guys. See ya next year at the Doghouse!!!

it cant be a good think to install a brand new defense midway through the season. that being said it cant be a good think to allow 63 or 42 points in a game either..... :shock:

its a nice idea to boost the spirit of the players and fans but he could have come up with something other than a direct copy of another school. Thats the reason everyone pokes fun at it. Should have made something thats unique to LCM, not copy Permian. then noone would have said a thing....JMO

What a game. From the opening kickoff you guys showed more heart and guts than the NDNS. Coach Moody deserves a lot of credit for having those kids really ready to play. Trap game or not you can NEVER show up for a game and look as flat as PNG looked. We looked totally unprepared to play that game but no excuses here, plain old fashioned butt kickin. Good luck the rest of the season.

jsmity, Good Lord man cry me a freakin river. West Brook gets the same coverage as any team in the area. Hell in the 80's they were the talk of the town but thats back when the district was 22-5A and there was more than 1 local team in it with them. They may not be talked about as much on this or other boards because of the district they play in now. All their games are against teams from cities in the Humble, Kingwood, and Baytown areas. Besides Port Arthur who does the Brook play around here in district??? The reason 22-4A gets more talking and pub throughout the season is because EVERY team is within 45 mins of each other. Youll see the West Brook chatter heat up the week they play Memorial I assure you, just like when they play Central and Ozen predistrict. the fact remains besides West Brook and Memorial fans noone from around here cares about the Baytown Lee Ganders or Humble Kingwood Mustangs. Why should we?

I've been saying it over and over that as soon as Burnett gave that kid a chance he would deliver. He played and played well vs Ozen tonight and our future looks very bright at PNG. Cant wait to see how he develops as the season progresses!!
