  1. Now that you say that...you are correct. The reason I'm asking is a Rice batter got on the right side, out of the box, played with his shoes, adjusted his shin protection, looked up and saw that the pitcher had toed the rubber. Immediately moved to the other side and got in the box. But with MrUmp1's answer, I agree....doesn't really matter. Maybe the players were not sure either. P.S. Have there been others that throw from both sides ? I never seen /heard it before....it was worth seeing for sure. um... im not aware of any others...
  2. the standoff would be pointless IMO seeing as how it would only affect the first pitch which i see many players let go by anyway, then the batter could switch freely as he pleased, but the pitcher would be stuck in whichever way he threw the first pitch...
  3. i never once said that HJ is going to be spectacular... not once in my previous statement did i ever say anything about HJ... so you need to calm down about that, but since you went there about the 1 district win... who was that win over? and how many did BC have? and our team was very young last year... we'll be returning 10 starters on defense and somewhere around 8 or 9 i believe on offense...
  4. i dont see why there would be any reason we couldnt go 6-4 or 7-3 with this schedule IMO, i see 3 or 4 predistrict wins, so your saying that BC will go 3-2 or 4-1 in district? Are they going to be that much better this year? (I dont mean this to be offensive or anything, im just saying to go from 0-10 and not winning a district game to going 6-4 or 7-3 and winning 3 or 4 district games, seems tough)
  5. here, i have one... i know that if the ball is hit into play and hits a base runner that the runner is out... (hopefully im right there, or it ruins my whole question), but if the ball is thrown by a player in the field and hits the runner then he's not out... whats the ruling if the ball is hit, bounces off the foot of a fielder and hits the runner... is he out because a live ball hit him, or does the fact that the ball touched the fielder cancel that out?
  6. Oh yeah! i watched it, very good game for both teams, both very tallented teams... and i agree seemed like that 1.5 minutes took like 15 minutes to play out
  7. dont jump on me about this, its my opinion, but with the All District "TEAM" selictions, to me it depends on how you are interperating the word TEAM... to me a Team isn't just 5 guys, because no team would go very far with only five players, you have to have your bench contribute also... a team usually carries anywhere from 8-15 i would say, then in the playoffs when you have JV pullups about 18-20... so to me anywhere from 8-10 is a good number for an all district team, and besides its all about honoring as many kids as possible anyways...
  8. im not 100% on this, so dont go quoteing me, but what i've heard is that, yes Jarvis has an age issue but he has already applied to UIL for another year and it has been allowed... once again not 100% but this is what i have heard from several people...
  9. i believe it was something like 34 straight games without a loss
  10. HJ isn't losing much, we'll return 10 starters on Defense and 7 or 8 starters on offense that plus some good players to replace those few losses and i think we have a shot at a playoff spot next year...
  11. central won something like.. central - somwhere around 6-8 hj - 0
  12. our (HJ's) goalie Taylor Koch had like 31 saves i believe, which means with 9 goals and than maybe a few other knockaways by other HJ players that LCM probably had close to 45-50 shots on goal... and number 18 Jake Moses for HJ had an amazing free kick from probably 25 yards out or so off to the right of the goal and curved it over the wall and the goalie into the back of the net... great shot...
  13. yes i agree bullets13 hopefully this will give schools like HJ and WOS a chance to compete...
  14. this isn't in any particular order but i'd say some of the best from what i've seen... Brown - PAM Franks - Ozen Thomas - EC Burell - HJ Bernard - HJ Bray - Kountze just a few..
  15. we have a scrimmage against lufkin hudson i believe on january 4th and then still not sure which tournament we're in
  16. The only reason i can see for having more than 11 on 1st and 2nd team all district is if your saying its like an actual team, which wont have only 11 players, they will have back ups... if your just saying it as just the starters then i say 11 1st teamers and 11 2nd teamers with about 10-15 honerable mentions... if your stating it as an actual "full" team then id say 15-18 1st teamers and 15-18 2nd teamers with about 10-15 honerable mentions still... it just depends on how you want to state it...
  17. no they had to win their last game to make the playoffs it just so happened that it also gave them the district title... had they lost that game they would have gone into a 3rd place tie with Kountze who had the head to head win against EC, thereby knocking EC out of the playoffs
  18. I think we're returning something like 10 on Defense and 7 or 8 on Offense over at HJ
  19. i think it depends on where you play the game... I say if its played at HJ then you give HJ a huge edge... and a good possibility of winning... they've already proven they can knock off top ranked teams at home...
  20. the only ones i can remember are... Jarvis Bernard - i believe he got tournament MVP Trey Burrell number 13 or 14 and number 5 for TCH
  21. Oh yeah! i was off by only 3 points total... GO HAWKS!!!
  22. good stuff there purple... you should put it all togethor into one long highlight film... like all the best plays of the season
