  1. Lake Travis is 73-3 over the last 5 seasons.  Reminds me of Southlake Carroll's 5 year run of 79-1 from 2002-2006.  So, the smart money is still on Lake Travis.
  2. I think Argyle wins State over Coldspring.
  3. Wow.  I didn't realize that.  If it wasn't for J. Gilbert, they would be zero wins for 20 years.  I still remember when they were USA Today #1 in the nation around 1991.  Coach Joe Clements retired about 20 years ago after his youngest son finished, and the program tanked right after that.
  4. Regarding Justin Gilbert at Huntsville High, he was the starting QB in 2008 and 2009 when Huntsville played in Brenham's district.  Huntsville went undefeated in district in 2008, but then somehow managed to lose to Lockhart in the 1st round.  In 2009, they lost just one district game (to Brenham).  Defeated Hays Consol in the 1st round before losing to Beaumont Central in the 2nd round 28-24.  They should have beaten Central.  Gilbert also ran kicks back, and when he hit the open field, he was long gone.  Speed was ridiculous.  Tune in tonight and watch him run kicks back for OK State.
  5. The winner gets Lake Travis.  Doesn't that sound like fun?
  6. Monahans 27 Shallowater 20.  They get Argyle/Gilmer winner in the other 3A SEMI-Final
  7. Aryle 41 Gilmer 35 - 4th 7:03.    I have Gilmer over Coldspring in the State Final on my brackett.  We'll see if Gilmer can pull this one off.

  9. Chapel Hill scores a TD with 9 seconds left, now up 20-16 on West Columbia.  They must have 9 lives in these playoffs.
  10. Lake Travis holds on for the win 14-9 Apparently Chapel Hill gave up a safety, down 16-14 very late
  11. Crow is better when it's warm.  Need to hear from all those Coldspring doubters tonight.

  13. Tatum wins 34-33.  Crockett misses XP to tie with about 1:30 left in the game.

  17. Tyler Chapel Hill (1) Wimberley (2) Coldspring-Oakhurst (3) Gilmer (4) Alvarado (7) West Columbia (8) I predict Chapel Hill and Gilmer will be State champs
  18. Manvel takes care of LaMarque this weekend.  Then LaMarque can decide to suspend their players.
  19. One way to stop it is to beat them on the football field.  That will keep it from happening the following week.
  20. This thread might get 1,000 replies before it's done.  The long awaited matchup is here between the two best teams in the Region.  WOS has been putting up points like crazy lately, and Coldspring's scoring spree has come to a halt in the playoffs.  I'm still taking Coldspring in a low scoring battle 20-17.  Coldspring's defense is very good, and I think WOS will make the mistakes that doom them in a tight game.  Turnovers will be key.
  21. Payback is coming.  Angleton is much better this year.  Lot of points in this one.  I'll take Angleton 48-40.
  22. It's back to District play for Manvel.  I'll take Manvel to win the Region 35-14.
  23. Interesting to look at the Texas Football predictions.  In 5A D1, they had the Final Four of Desoto, Cy-Fair, Judson, and Trinity.  Well,  Guess what?  They are all gone.  If only college football would have playoffs.
