2.
I'm going to be at the game next week at Navasota rooting for you guys. Someone needs to tell the D to be prepared for throws, that Navasota QB averages 300 plus yards 3 plus TD's throwing. Prepared to see you guys put a stop to that high powered offense. Good Luck. Navasota going to be a tuff game.... Go Trojans.
Navasota has a high powered offense AND defense.  Navasota QB Kadarius Baker was 22-28 for 306 yards against Willis.  He is very elusive and doesn't seem to get rattled at all.  Navasota can run the ball too pretty efficiently.  The defense gives up Nothing.  Willis only had about 125 yards, and 49 of that came on one pass play.    Based upon the week 1 results, it would appear that Navasota will be the favorite in this one.  Coldspring will need to figure out how to get that Navasota offense out of rhythm and also how to move the ball against that tough D.  I'm rooting for Coldspring, but they have to bring the A+ game.
3. 21-0 at half. Navasota gets Coldspring next week
4. Navasota leading 13-0 with 8 min left in half
5. Navasota at Willis to see a 3A power against 18-4A.
6. Lots of Hornet doubters before this one, thanks to Coldspring. Huntsville will be in the playoff hunt in 18-4A
7. Yea. It looks like Humble got the L wrapped up by halftime.  Great call.
8.
Humble should have this wrapped up by halftime.
No chance of that.  Humble doesn't have enough offense to do that.
9. 1992 was the last time Huntsville was legit in my opinion.  They were 5A at that time.  In 1991, they were the USA Today preseason #1 in the nation.  Coach Joe Clements retired a couple of years after that, and then the bottom dropped out.  They haven't really been very good since except for the couple of years that Justin Gilbert was the QB in 2008-2009.  They have made the playoffs the last 4 years, but are still a very mediocre team. I actually don't remember Huntsville ever being in a district with Lufkin.  Maybe they were, but I don't recall that.
10. I think they had a losing record also, but I really don't care.  I was just responding to the fact that lots of returning starters don't always equate into winning records.
11.
You've been notified Shepherd returns 9-8 ;)
9-8 from a 1-9 team.  Not scared quite yet.
12.
they wont win more than 2 games
They will win more than 2 games.  I think 5 is probably realistic.  We'll see what happens tomorrow night against Humble.
13. Well they have 2 games to figure it out.  Maybe the 5 QB offense will be the new trend.
14.
I believe Livingston will show they have Collins, and Collins, and more than Collins and Collins to deal with in this game. Livingston 42 college Park 14
Are you serious?  42-14!  I don't see that happening against a 5A playoff team with more than twice the enrollment.  Livingston can certainly win this one, but I am taking College Park.
15.
Brenham over Foster El Campo over Waller Angleton over Montgomery Galena Park over Magnolia Magnolia West over Tomball Memorial Elgin over Rudder Huntsville over Humble Caney Creek over New Caney Navasota over Willis
I agree, except for New Caney.
16. Anybody have an opinion on how Kountze will do against 3A Shepherd next week?  Seems like it should be a close game.
17. Would they have done that for a new computer lab too?  A blue turf is a completely unnecessary expense, and the people that put up their house as collateral should lose it.  But now they hope that the intelligent taxpayers that rejected the bond will now come forth and bail them out for their poor judgement?  It's for the kids!  Once again, it appears that FOOTBALL is far more important than EDUCATION.
18.

Oh Huntsville....  I'm sure you're glad to see us back in your district.  ;D
I bet they are wanting New Caney and Porter back !!!!!
Haha.  Ya, they got rid of them for Brenham & Montgomery.  Pretty even swap.
Ya, I was surprised how easily Coldspring won the scrimmage.  I had heard that Huntsville was missing some players, but they certainly didn't show much at all.  Huntsville has been in the playoffs the last 4 years, but have definitely benefited from a weak district over the last 2 years.  When you have New Caney, Porter, and Caney Creek in your district, you only have to win 1 or 2 more to get to the playoffs.  Last year, they beat Summer Creek and Humble to get in.  It's a much tougher 18-4A  this year.  They should still contend for a spot.
19. I think it's a little crazy for a school district to spend that kind of money on a football stadium for one school.  But, it wouldn't surprise me if they fill the entire 18,000 seats on game days.  Their band has nearly 700 members and actually requires 1,000 seats with the equipment.  The halftime sight alone is worth catching a game.  I would think that Allen will be a powerhouse for years to come, unless they eventually split the school into two.
20. Yea, I would flip 1-2.  No reason to put Brenham at 2 unless you want to motivate them.  3,4,5 could finish in any order, but I would probably flip Mag West and Willis.  I think Mag West gets in the playoffs.  Caney Creek should have 9 wrapped up.  6-8 looks about right but whoopie-doo it matters.
21. Wow.  Summer Creek will probably be 5A before you know it.
