  1. Huntsville leading 7-0 after 1st Qtr.
  2. Crockett up 35-0, still in the 1st Qtr.
  3. Humble will not make the playoffs.  They may be 3-1, but they have already played the 3 worst teams in the District.  With Kingwood Park, Willis, and Summer Creek left on the schedule, Humble may not win any of them.  Huntsville beat them last week, so Huntsville has the head-to-head tiebreaker.  Huntsville will finish at least 4-3 in the District.  Doesn't really matter because 17-4A will likely sweep 18-4A in the playoffs.
  4. If Hemphill gave up 56 to New Waverly, I don't see how they can beat Corrigan.  Might be a 100 points scored in this one.
  5. I was very surprised at the New Waverly-Hemphill score last week.  I had already counted out NW for the playoffs.  This entire district is difficult to predict, and it looks like everyone except Groveton has a shot at it.  I am still not sold on Deweyville yet.  I am going with New Waverly in a close ballgame.
  6. I predict that Huffman will play Coldspring to a TIE, until kickoff.  Huffman will then play hard until they are down 2 TD's, and eventually they will be down 8 TD's.  Please!  Why are we all still talking about a name that score blowout.
  7. Another good game here.  I was a little surprised by the 12-0 score in last week's SA-Deweyville game.  Not sure how good Deweyville is.  I understand that Deweyville had 7 turnovers, so it sounds like they could have won that game.  I'll still have to go with Groveton 21-17.
  8. In my opinion, these are the two best teams in a very competitive District, with Hemphill a close 3rd.  I think this will be a close ballgame.  I'll go with Corrigan, but I won't be surprised if it goes the other way.
  9. I think these predictions are all about right.  New Waverly couldn't stop Corrigan's run game, and they won't stop Hemphill either.  I would expect Hemphill to put up at least 50 points and roll in this one.
  10. I think if you are concerned about Shepherd, then you can forget about running with Coldspring.
  11. If Coldspring is resting the entire team for the playoffs, it could be close.  If it's for the District championship, it's a 5 TD blow-out.
  12. Sorry guys.  Lovelady wins this one.  I'll say 31-14.  West Hardin has played absolutely nobody, so don't be fooled by the 5-0 record.
  13. Brenham by 30.  Yep, Brenham has been very good the last decade or so.  I don't know if it's due to the Blue Bell.  Back in my day, we beat them 8 years in a row.  Ahh, the good ole days.
  14. Well, Brenham is always impressive.  I thought that West could run with them if they could hold onto the ball.  I see they had 3 turnovers in the 1st half, and you simply can not do that if you want to beat Brenham.  Once they fell behind 2 scores, that was it.  Looking forward to seeing how the Montgomery-Stratford game goes today.  I think it's a good possibility that Montgomery will give the Cubs their only loss in the regular season.
