What game (s) will you be at this weekend?Eazy replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads IF I WAS SINGLE, I would be in Plano Friday night to see Allen-Mesquite and then in Allen on Saturday to see Coppell-Desoto. These are the two best games in the State this weekend.
More stats to look at I can’t find any video on these guys Passing BH – 42 completions on 79 attempts for a 53% completion rate at 726 yards. Elgin – 93 completions on 195 attempts for a 47% completion rate at 1,472 yards. Rushing BH – 440 carries for 3, 293 yards at 7.48 YPC. Elgin – 421 carries for 2,594 yards at 6.16 YPC. Total Yards BH – 4019 Elgin – 4066 It’s hard to tell just how good the wildcats are. The bottom of their district is even worse than ours, so there are many blow outs of teams scoring 70+ on the weaker teams in district. When the cats did play a better team in district they didn’t put up many points even getting blow out by the top two in district. The BH D will keep the Cats in check, but the offense will have to get the passing game working early to keep the Cats honest. Against Livingston you could tell that Denny was off and wasn’t much of a factor in the game. He will have to come out firing on all cylinders to win this game because I don’t think Elgin will be turning the ball over as much as Livingston did. With all that said I think the Eagles win this one. BH 27 Elgin 13
Game on for the celler dwellars. New Caney vs. Bastrop Cedar Creek and Porter vs. Georgetown East View. Let's settle this on the field.

Why are we still discussing a hypothetical matchup that would certainly be a blowout?
-
North Forest finally plays a good team this week. Terry takes them out for sure.
-
A solid Barbers Hill defense wins this one 17-10.
-
Manor put up 500 yards on Huntsville. They are a big play team. You miss, and they are at the house. Lots of speed, very talented. Crosby's best win was over Barbers Hill, but that was 2 months ago. The state ranked teams that they lost to handled them pretty well, and I expect Manor to do the same. Manor by 21.

I doubt SHSU would be the place. I dont think they can schedule the field since Sam may be hosting a playoff game. All game dates/times unknown until the NCAA seedings and matchups are set. We'll see.

A 32 point win is a little optimistic.
I understand your hesitation, but we watched them play last night. Line backers are small and defense is very spongy we will win by 30 they can't stop our offense, however they are explosive on offense but will will stop them some, I look forward to a 60 to 30 win. remember we have punted 3 or 4 times all year. No turnovers and the Pirates win this one BIG!
Well, I haven't seen a bracket that picks Deweyville to win yet. In that regards, they are probably considered the underdog. However, Deweyville has definitely flown under the radar so far. I won't be surprised at all if they win it.

Round 1: Brenham Cubs VS Elgin Wildcats- Predictions?Eazy replied to BrenhamFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads Looks like Elgin started off with 2 easy games, then the next 5 games were against good competition, before finishing with 3 easy District games. Georgetown and Connally took them behind the barn and whipped them pretty good. This game definitely should go to Brenham unless they blow it. I sense BrenhamFan is getting a little nervous by lowering his prediction.

#1 Navasota vs China Spring prediction?Eazy replied to AkAQuarterHorse's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads I am bewildered as to how Taylor beat LaVega. Taylor lost to Caldwell for gosh sake and was pummeled by Navasota 52-0.

It's going to be Elysian Fields vs Deweyville
67-54 EF 4:52 left
Winona turned the ball over which has allowed a 2 score lead now
-
That drive took a whole minute
-
7:37 left. Still time for 4-5 more TD's
-
Deweyville might feel optimistic playing against one of these defenses.

I saw some film and they look like Manor in green jerseys. I think it's gonna be a great game.
I don't think you can say that the District is necessarily weak in comparison to others. Their may be some average to poor teams, but the worst team in 18-4A could beat the bottom 3 in 19-4A all day long. Uh....I believe your worst team was beat by one of the bottom three in 19-4A this year.........
Crosby didn't put 63 on anybody in the district, and the 18-4a team they did that to was competing for a playoff spot until late in the season. Magnolia West would finish behind KP with the bottom three in 19-4a
Magnolia West beat KP 42-19 last year. Mag West would finish in front of KP this year. I promise. I said after the very 1st game this year that Willis would not seriously compete for a playoff spot. That was before Crosby dropped 63 on them. They finished 2-8, so I'm not sure how you define "competing for a playoff spot until late in the season". They did start District 1-0 cause they opened with Caney Creek. Whoopie-Doo I'm not saying that 18-4A's playoff teams are better than 19-4A's playoff teams, but the 18-4A non playoff teams are absolutely better.
Like you said, they beat them last year. Magnolia West was pretty decent last year, they just happened to get smoked by Dayton, but hey that happens to the worst of us. About 7 weeks into the season I was reading Willis had a chance, I knew they wouldn't make it either but it was what it was. We tried to scrimmage Mag. West but our players kept running up and down the field so I guess they just abandoned the game situation part. You stay at home with four district losses here and they would surely lose to all four 19-4a playoff teams and play KP for 5th. I'm just saying I would take my 19-4a boys in that one because at least they were competitive, Mag. West was just big and slow.
Willis mathmatically had a playoff chance with 3 games left. Of course, Humble did too with only two games left. It wasn't ever going to happen.

I think Caney Creek wins the rematch.
-
I think the teams are evenly matched. The running back for Manor that ran for 254 yds against Connally scares me a bit. But, I won't be surprised either way on who wins.
