HF in 5
-
Amazing career. I thought they missed the playoffs in 83 or 84.
-
I believe it was 2008. BC and OF were both 5-5 in district and OF won the play-in game.

She's a great player. As I have said before, it is great to see her on the court again.

Do you know the results of today's games? Particularly Deweyville? :D
Deweyville lost in the Consolation game to East Chambers.
All tournament from HF- Jolie Basye OH, Brook Smith OH, Ferrell Kiker MB
All tournament from Liberty- Allison Meche, Kaitlyn Slack
All tournament from EC- Mattie East, I'm not sure on their other player
All tournament from HJ- Taylor Thomas
Great job by all these teams and young ladies! -
Impressive win. It's great to see #1 back on the court this year!!!

I personally like it as far as 3A goes. I'm not sure if 4A runs into what we do at Regionals (5A doesn't seem to), but Regionals has become watered down in many events. Districts aren't sending their 1,2, and 3 in each event. Your athletes that make Regionals in 4 or 5 events or three tough running events (800m, 400m, 4x400m etc.) are pulling out of one or more events to concentrate on the events they have the best chance of making state (I don't have a problem with this). This leaves some districts sending any possible combination of their top 5 in an event. Competition level in the prelims fall a bit when this happens and sometimes it causes problems in the distance races with lapers. I think this will greatly increase the level of competition at Regionals. Instead of each district sending three, you are going to be taking the top 4 between two different districts. I like it. Also, I think we will see rivalries created between districts. Also, as Kris said, it is giving 4 kids the opportunity to move on to the next round and compete again. I'm looking forward to it next year.

Ozen won the 4x400m by 6 seconds. How fast of split did the kid who was entered in too many events run? They have a kid that can go 47-48 but I don't know his name. If he was not the one in 4 events, I think they would have still won the 4x400m but we will never know.

I think you have a lot less young men make the mistake of coming out right after high school and then not get drafted. I kind of wish they would have to stay at least 2 years. I've heard Coach K say it can be hard to recruit a kid when you know you are only going to have him for one year.

Last year at state the current 2A record was 12'3"

Why would they build a new school? They have one 5A and two 4A schools. I believe Ozens numbers have been dropping, I don't know about Central.
-
Just ran over to the staduim to watch the game but there was no game.
Did it get rescheduled or do they play somewhere other than the HS? -
I think it will be fine for 4A and 5A. I'm glad 3A went against it. We would have a tough time keeping our numbers up if they were running another 1.1
-
They said at the meet that it could possibly be the fastest in the state so far.

Good win for Hamshire Fannett. Not being disrespectful but I think that is the first time HF has beat Orangefield in 9 years. Someone can correct me if I am wrong.

I believe that's about right. I know they had the lead at halftime and/or going into the 4th quarter the past couple of years but couldn't finish. It was a big win for the girls last night. Anytime you can be OF in any sport right now you have to be happy. They have some great kids right now. -
I was wondering how Trey ran last year and didn't see his name at the Big 12 finals so I went and looked at OU's roster and couldn't find him. Is he not running? Is he only playing football?
-
I found today. WOS is holding one on their new track on the 18th. Good luck to you this season coach and could you PM me the years and times on the records you set?
-
I believe I have contacted all the local schools but perhaps I missed one. Nederland moved their meet up a week this year so I would like to fill the next week with a meet if I can.
Any meets being held February 16,17, or 18? -
Can we get some new uniforms to go along with these changes?
-
Awesome Job!!! Great to see a local team make it all the way to the big dance. Abiliene Wylie is going to extemely tough. They have made it look pretty easy so far, but I do believe Tarkington has had a tougher road of competition to get them. Beat Wylie and Stun Lovejoy...Good Luck.

Lovejoy will win state in 3A hands down. They may not lose a game in playoffs. They excelled at the top 5A tournaments this year (Top 5 in both Pearland and Duncanville). I believe the only losses are to teams that are ranked in the top 10 in the state.

Agreed -
Tarkington won in 5.
25-13
25-19
24-26
19-25
15-12
They have the ability to make it to state this year. -
This is the only score I've looked for. Got any info on Tarkington?
-
I found this on sportsgram.net. Didn't live up to a #1 vs #2 billing.
Lovejoy 3 Argyle 0
25-15
25-10
25-17
I think we are seeing how good this team is. Sure hope they move up to 4A. I believe they would win state in 4A as well. Ryan Mitchell is a great coach. I had two opportunities to talk with him and he's just flat out got his stuff together.
