  1. What does West Brook have to do with this prediction thread?

  3. Personally, I have never considered a 14 point win (regardless of score) a blowout. Too many factors involved. I attended a game where one team led 35-0 going into the 4th Q. It was total domination by said team. They played the 4th with all their backup players and the other team scored 3 TD's to finish the game at 35-21. One could say that was a blowout (I would agree with that statement) only because of how the game was played. I also saw a game where a team won 56-42. The losing team scored with 5 minutes left in game to cut the lead to 7 (49-42). Forced a 3 and out, got the ball back and drove down to the opponents 5 yard line with 25 seconds left on the clock. Next play was an interception that was returned 100 yards for TD. Game ended 56-42 but was far from being a blowout game. Both teams moved down the field against one another. In fact, the losing team actually had more offensive yards than the winning team. Kicking game and turnovers were the difference. Just saying that 14 point wins, no matter if it's high scoring or not, is still too close to be considered a blowout in my opinion.
  4. FYI (and I know the head coach at H-D knows this) but it is against UIL rules for a player to play two football games within a week. You are not allowed to play JV game on Thursday night and then play varsity game on Friday night. Now if there was no JV game Thursday night, then all players are eligible to play varsity on Friday night.
  5. I'll be on the sidelines for this one. Should be a good game.
  6. [Hidden Content] Local teams in these rankings: 6A #2 North Shore #10 Atascocita 5A DI #6 PA Memorial 4A DI #7 Little Cypress-Mauriceville 4A DII #4 West Orange-Stark #9 Silsbee 3A DII #3 Newton 2A DI #1 Timpson 2A DII #9 Tenaha
  7. Strictly talking about offers that have been made by DI schools.
  8. FYI, Silsbee currently has one DI player on the roster (Miller). There are others that will play some college ball (FCS, DII, NAIA, Juco) but Miller is the only player receiving DI offers.
  9. I'll be in attendance for this one. Rice Bowl 2022

  11. In lot's of cases, a 14 point win is not considered a blowout. Particularly if winning team scored that last TD very late in game.
  12. I can't ever recall Soulja ever supporting any coach. Not sure I have ever seen him praise a coach on here.
  13. A little pompous, are we?
  14. Offensive line is young (easier to pass block than run block), got a pretty good QB and a great set of receivers. Running game will compliment the passing game. But, there were some games last year that Silsbee had more passing yards than rushing. Coach Smith is taking advantage of the personnel that he currently has this season. Plus in this game, he took what Vidor was giving.
  15. Former Silsbee Offensive Co. and my friend and neighbor.
  16. I'm good with my picks. Got to keep my streak of top 5 overall finishes. Streak is at 7 years now looking for 8. Been overall winner 3 times (most of anyone since we started the pickems). Cream will rise to the top by week 11
  17. The little bit I saw of them Thursday night does suggest that it will be a tough season for HJ. Lot's of growing pains with going to this new offense. For what it's worth, LC-M is a very good team.
  18. Cuero winning this big was a bit of a shocker.
  19. He is not a Kountze fan. Kountzer is a Silsbee guy.
  20. Congrats Coach Hickman!!!!
  21. Final 30-14 Newton
  22. No. Working on getting one for next week. When all of tonight's games are final, the results will be posted here.
