  1. Silsbee will match up better with Newton and I think we will have a better handle on the ball. Plus, I still think Jasper is a year away, they won't be that good this quick. Silsbee 28 Newton 24
  2. This SFA85 guy that thinks he knows something about football, you Nederland fans just need to ignore him. It's obviously that he's got this big chip on his shoulder pertaining to Nederland. The Bulldogs could beat a Southlake Carroll team and he still wouldn't credit you for the win. Last I saw, only points determined wins and losses, not stats. BTW, you sound pretty dumb using that " Spread offense makes a soft defense " moniker. Neither has to do with the other. There are teams out there running spread offenses, WOS in particular, that have great defenses. SFA85, just get over your hatred towards Nederland, it's making you look stupid.
  3. I said that if PNG went to the power run game, they would beat my Tigers. The Indians had over 300 yards rushing tonight. Add that to 9 turnovers for the Tigers, 5 fumbles, 4 int's, and that just means the Silsbee defense is on the field way too long. No team can overcome 9 turnovers, but Silsbee has to improve the run defense. As young as our skill players are on offense, we are going to be fighting the inconsistancy and ball handling probably all year. I still believe the Tigers will be there at the end of the year and make the playoffs. PNG needs to keep running that 2 back pro set and get away from that spread, which they did tonight.
  4. Port Arthur News. It's in the game capsule.
  5. I'm not sure. I didn't think we had gotten that much rain. With that new base and drainage system we put in, I figured we would be okay. We must have gotten more rain than I thought. The field was in excellant shape last Friday and looked good after the game also. I think it will be good after today's sun on it. Speaking of the rain, man did that storm jump up on us. I work in Port Neches and that thing went right through us last night. My lab partner and I went outside about 3:30 am and it was gettin it. If that was a Cat 1 winds, can't imagine what Rita's were like.
  6. Good deal. I would have gone through withdrawls, that wouldn't have been pretty.
  7. I did not realize our field was in that bad of shape. I still think we will have our game, but looks to be up in the air right now. Coop, get that sun out today and dry up Tiger Stadium. I want my chicken!!!
  8. I see what you are saying. Good eyes STiger85.
  9. The West Hardin-Hardin game was moved back to Hardin's stadium. Sorry.
  10. Actually, it's just the groundbreaking, you know, the ole honorary shovel and dirt routine. Constuction should begin in about a month. Will be ready by next season, but some say it could be finished by the last home game( Kirbyville ) but I'm not going to hold my breath. I know the builder, very good friend of mine, it will be a fine facility for sure. You guys need to get there early tomorrow night and get some footage of the groundbreaking. Plus, get you some chicken. ;D
  11. This article came out Wed. morning, well before anyone knew what was instore.
  12. I'm not so sure of this. I do know that the freshman and jv games were to be at the Reservation, but they could not have them there. Tiger Stadium was then brought up, but to preserve a good field for Friday night, it was decided to just cancel. I don't know where you get the idea of Silsbee backing out.
  13. Actually, records show that he had 454 yards, 6 td's. He had right at 600 yards all-purpose yards that night against Nederland.
  14. I think band of brothers was suggesting that PNG is rank, as in smell. Sarcasm at it's best.
  15. PNG games are broadcast on 92.5 fm Silsbee games are webcast here. Two ways of listening this week, if in your car, 92.5. At home or work, setxsports.com
  16. Well, last year after my Tigers destroyed Sterling I would have thought Central would have done the same. Thought wrong. This year, my very young Tigers eeked out a win over Sterling, so I'll predict a Central blowout. Jags 42 Raiders 12 C'mon Jaguars, make me look good.
  17. I'll just sum this thread up like this: It's not in the NFL, so it can't be all that great.
  18. Personaly, I would like for them to remain as they are. At least till after this Friday when they face my Tigers. ;D

  22. Okay Rob, I came to your defense earlier, but you contradict yourself in this post. I agree, a few of the Tiger fans ( I think most of these are youngens ) don't give the respect that the Hawks deserve. Just call it young and dumb. Everyone with any sense knows what HJ basketball is, a great traditional state small school power. They have been in the past, still will be in the future.
  23. Jeremy Johnson, qb Silsbee 11-19 178 yds. 1 td passing 21 rushes 138 yds. 2 td's
  24. As far as I am concerned, Balla can CHECK out!
  25. Coop definetly got a bee in his bonnet. I think Coop could take Bostwick anyway. Now Brown on the other hand, Coop could be out of his weight class.
