But does your mother still live in SP and pay taxes in BISD?  If not, then no gripe.  The protectors of SP had plenty of opportunities to enshrine the 3rd floor since it became a middle school in '86.  Most of the people whining about SP being demode don't live in BISD and should get a case of hush mouth.  BTW, there will be a new SP built on the same site so it's not like SP is gone.....
1) Mom just passed away, but I PAY bisd taxes. I will say whatever I want to, 85. Period. 2) Wether Mom "lived in BISD or not", she cared about SP. Duh. 3) You run your mouth constantly, but have the nerve to tell others to "hush mouth"?    >:(
Sorry to hear about your mom, but sell the house...... And since you're handling the affairs, I don't see nothing going on in Stowel so again, you have no say.... And just like you, I have an opinion that none of you Butch-haters like but will see as long as I'm not banned... So in conclusion.... Enjoy small and old Bucanneer Stadium The majority of Us in BISD will enjoy and our kids will benefit from the fruits of CBT's labour......
FYI, East Chambers got a new stadium a couple of years ago. ;) They also have the best high school gym of any school in the Southeast Texas area, regardless of classification. SFA85, how do you know ECbucfan doesn't live in Beaumont?
 2.
Don't get me wrong.  I much prefer the plan which creates a 6A over the current attempt to divide each class into two different divisions.  But this plan of 4 teams from each district further dilutes the championship.  That means in an eight team district all you have to do to make the playoffs is finish in the top half of the district....in a six team district, 2/3 of the teams will go.....and in a district like 14-1A, they are just playing the district schedule to determine the playoff seedings.
I wouldn't mind the 6A move, just keep it at 3 teams to qualify for the playoffs.
 3. I have stated numerous times, 4 teams is just too much. The only way to justify 4 teams qualifying for the playoffs would be if those 4 teams come out of at least an 8-10 team district. This 4 out of 5, 4 out of 6, or 4 out of 7 is ridiculous. I even think 4 out of 8 is bad. I wanted it to stay 2 teams, but I have no problems with 3. Going to 4 teams is just another way for the UIL to get more money, plain and simple. It has nothing to do with "the social needs". ::)
 4.
Well, if my math is right from 11-Man 1A-5A 544 teams will make the playoffs (128 in 5A, 128 in 4A, 96 in 3A, 48 in 2A (DI), 48 in 2A (DII), 48 in 1A (DI), 48 in 1A (DII) this year and next. If the 6A plan with 4 teams reaching the playoffs out of each region, 768 teams from 11 Man 1A to 5A will make the playoffs.   Is it the "little league" mentality of everyone getting a trophy?  Not hardly.  The bigger justification can be found in Page 15 of UIL Football Manual under Section 1250 (j) of the "Football" Plan which states, "Fifteen percent of the gross receipts of post-district games shall be paid to the [University Interscholastic] League...." For that, you can do the math.
EXACTLY!!!!!!

Incoming H-J junior (OL/DL) Joe Persohn verbals to Lamar. Following after his dad's (world's greatest freshman basketball coach) footsteps.
So are you being sarcastic?  I don't know anything about this recruit so maybe you could fill us in.
No sarcasm, he did indeed give Coach Woodard a verbal.
 6.
there is so much talk about the first place teams (HJ and Silsbee) who do yall think will pull out that last playoff spot???
I think it will come down to Bridge City, Hamshire-Fannett, Orangefield and WOS. ;) I give the early nod to WOS.
 7.
Looks like it might be an interresting season ahead.
Yes indeed. I was really surprised how well Silsbee played in this tourney. I figured them to be one of the top 4 teams but to win the whole thing with your starting point guard and 2 guard not playing in any of the games, was a surprise to me. I will say this, I believe Silsbee has two of the top 5 players in the area in Stallworth and Lane.
 8.

I think HJ will be in the hunt againt this upcoming season. But the gap is closing in on HJ. By 2011-2012 season, the district will see some new changes. Enjoy your last season for awhile.
Dove, at least for the next two seasons I don't see HF moving into HJ's territory.  As long as we keep our core group in tact, we should be able to battle for district championships with Silsbee with HF on the outside looking in.
HF and WOS will be opening up the door ;) Time marches fast in sports.
Let's see, Silsbee's 8th, 9th and JV teams swept both HF and WOS last year. I believe the time will be much slower than you think. ;)

 11. I read it cover to cover, not bad for a first time publication. There were some inaccuracies with some of the info but all in all, a good start. Still think they blew it on their polls. ;)
 12. That was a great segment. Very good job, Grad!! HEY MAW, I WAS ON THE TV!!!! ;D
 13.
any news from movement between LCM and WOS
According to Skipper, who claims to be the pulse of WOS football, a starting runningback for the Mustangs transfered to LCM. ::)

 15. In a couple of notable pool games played Staurday morning: Silsbee defeated West Brook  by 20 Cleveland defeated Hardin-Jefferson In bracket play: Big surprise was #14 Livingston pulling off the upset wins over #3 LCM and #9 Hardin-Jefferson to reach the semifinals before getting knocked off by eventual champion Silsbee. Cleveland had a good tourney going 3-0 in pool play and reaching the finals, losing just the one game to Silsbee, finishing runner up with an overall record of 6-1. Silsbee wins their 3rd championship of these 4 tournaments played going undefeated. The Tigers were 3-0 (actually 4-0 after defeating PA in a fill in game) in pool play, then winning their 4 bracket games to win the championship and finishing 8-0 for the tourney. Silsbee defeated their opponents by an average margin of 21 points. A great overall performance by the Tigers!
 16. Finally got my hands on yesterday's results. Here they are: After pool play ended in the morning, these are the 16 teams that qualified for single elimination bracket play. They are in order of bracket seeding: #1 Silsbee #2 Cleveland #3 LCM #4 PA Memorial #5 Nederland #6 Ozen #7 Ozen JV #8 Tioga #9 Hardin-Jefferson #10 Kountze #11 Jasper #12 Lumberton #13 West Brook #14 Livingston #15 Anahuac #16 Evadale Bracket play: 1st round #1 Silsbee defeated #16 Evadale #6 Ozen defeated #11 Jasper #14 Livingston defeated #3 LCM #9 HJ defeated #8 Tioga #4 PA defeated #13 West Brook #5 Nederland defeated #12 Lumberton #10 Kountze defeated #7 Ozen JV #2 Cleveland defeated #15 Anahuac Quarterfinals Silsbee defeated Ozen  44-31 Livingston defeated HJ  36-30 PA defeated Nederland  42-34 Cleveland defeated Kountze  50-35 Semifinals Silsbee defeated Livingston  62-32 Cleveland defeated PA Memorial  45-39 Championship Silsbee defeated Cleveland  56-52
 17. When are they going to have Kerry on SportsXtra? Isn't he the guru?
 18. We are trying to decide what night would be the best to do our weekly preview show. We have been doing them on Monday nights but have done them on Wed. nights. Those are really the only two nights we can do them. Tues. and Thurs. are out due to volleyball and sub-varsity football games. Monday nights competes with Monday Night Football. Our show runs from 6pm to 8pm. MNF starts at 7:30pm. Give us some feedback by voting in the poll and posting any comments. Thanks
 19. Sorry guys, I could not make it out there today. Had some things come up. I'll try and contact someone out there to get some updates.
 20.
Debuts Wednesday! An awesome system....but yes mentally tired.
Yes, you are mental.
 21. Notes: What a difference a day makes for Kountze (actually what two senior players mean to the team). Kountze looked much better today. McDaniel was definitely the difference for these young Lions. We'll see how the rest of the tourney goes for Kountze. LCM had another blowout win. But they have yet to play a higher caliber team (wins over Kountze JV and WB freshman). Even so, the Bears look pretty good. HJ and Woodville played a slop fest of a game. HJ's basketball savy pulled this one out for them. (Garrett Gustafson went down in this game, getting a nasty cut over his left eye, requiring stitches) After Livingston gave West Brook a scare yesterday, some thought they may give the Tigers a game. That was quickly tossed aside as Silsbee dominated Livingston the entire game. Tigers looked very good, with the bench looking good as well. Nederland's varsity team came to play today (the JV represented Big Ned yesterday). The Bulldogs were very impressive in their win over Anahuac. Coach English got the Dawgs looking good. In one of the most exciting games of the day, Silsbee took down PA 38-28. Silsbee was having to play back to back games (just finished beating Livingston) so they were a bit tired and it showed. PA raced to an 18-2 lead, led at the half 20-10. But the Tigers, behind Stallworth, Lane and Barrett, came roaring back and showed the heart and character of a seasoned team. The Tigers took advantage of PA's youth (even though some of this team are varsity players) and applied the pressure to PA, coming back to win by 10. The big upset of the tourney was Legacy taking down West Brook. Great game for Legacy. Even though it is summer league, it's a win that the Warriors can be proud of. Cleveland rolled an undermanned Spurger team (couple of Spurger's starters missed this game). Cleveland played without their big postman Cedric Reed, but they did not need him. Finally, to close out today's games, Lumberton and Evadale put on a nail biter. Evadale had three different possesions in the last 15 seconds, also going to the line once, but could not come up with the 2 points to tie the game. All in all, another good day of basketball, 12 pool games. Pool play will conclude in the morning and bracket play will start at 1pm tomorrow.
 22. Todays Pool play scores: Kountze    49  (different Kountze team today, McDaniel and Linn played today) Vidor        32 Tioga, La.  44 Jasper        42 Ozen        54 Kountze JV  39 (some of the varsity played for Kountze) LCM              54  (LCM looks good again, but yet to play a good team) Bmt. Mustangs 25 HJ        38 Woodville 32  ( both teams played sloppy in this game) Silsbee      48  ( Silsbee dominated from start to finish) Livingston    15  Nederland      47 (Nederland's varsity finally showed for the tourney, very impressive) Anahuac        18 Silsbee        38  (Silsbee trailed 18-2 after 5 minutes, outscored PA 36-10 the rest of the way) PA Spurs      28 Legacy        39  ( Legacy hit shot with 1.5 seconds left, UPSET of tourney so far) West Brook  38 Cleveland      65  ( played without Reed) Spurger      30 Ozen JV      36 HJ JV          28  ( some of HJ's varsity played this game) Lumberton    30 Evadale        28  ( Evadale had three chances to tie game in the last 15 seconds)
 23.
Is the HJ game at 5:30??
Yes, in the main gym. Silsbee plays Livingston at the same time but in the practice gym. HJ plays Woodville.

Makes me wonder if Kerry had anything to do with that? LOL!
I promise you Kerry had absolutely NOTHING to do with KFDM/CW broadcasting football games. Take that to your grave.
More times than not, Kerry has nothing to do. ;)
 25.
"Prudhomme has the makings of being HJ's next star. But the Hawks also have a freshman phenom waiting in the wings. He will play varsity this season." Who is the freshman phenom?  LAZEEK, what say you?
Bosha is his last name was what I was told.
