Where will Silsbee and HJ play their playoff
AggiesAreWe replied to jam14's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well, I will certainly look for an opportunity to reciprocate. The main obstacle for either team is an undefeated and obviously very good Waco LaVega who, I belive is #1 in the state. Should either team wind up playing LaVega in Huntsville, I have to believe that having played each other will be the best preparation. Does that mean I am right? Heck no. It's just my opinion which I am obviously never hesitant to offer. ;D
Which they have already done twice. ;) -
Where will Silsbee and HJ play their playoff

The problem I am seeing for this possible seeding game(if it happens) is that there looks to be two different local playoff previews with one run and officiated by the local TASO Chapter, the other by the local UIL Chapter. This will be a conflict with these two schools. I really do not see the point in them asking UIL to send them an officiating crew for this unnecessary game when they could flip for it. Flip for seeding and let each school play where and who they want to play for the warmup game. -

I hope the next time these two play is in Huntsville. Really see no point in playing the seeding game. Play other teams for warmup purposes. These two see enough of each other already. -

He had outstanding numbers with 233 tackles, 133 solo tackles, and 10 sacks. I'm sure he is fine with Air Force but i just find it odd that they showed from what i know of no interest in him.
Exactly! One of the examples I am talking about.
You cannot recruit and sign them all!!! ::) ::)
Right. -
[Hidden Content] Quote from Silsbee Coach Joe Sigler: “I think we’ll be OK — I feel pretty strongly about that,†Silsbee coach Joe Sigler said. â€Now we know what we have, the speculation is over. It is what it is. As far as Silsbee is concerned, we’re still going to be competitive. Now we know what’s ahead of us. As far as us being overwhelmed or fearful or anything like that, that doesn’t exist here.†;) ;D

I hate traveling to Livingston a couple times a year, so I can only imagine what those folks over there feel like having to do it every week! Just flat sux!
I would think they play the same amount of home games as everyone else.
Livingston has to travel more than all the other 20-4A teams put together. In the two year span, they have to make 7 trips to the Triangle in football, 14 in volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. Whereas the other 20-4A schools only make 1 trip in football, 2 in the other four sports. Livingston gets hosed in this deal, not the other 20-4A schools. -
No more EC and Kountze games :(...I don't like the EC district...
I don't like it either. Not only did East Chambers, Anahuac and Hardin get moved to another district, they were also moved to another region, Region IV. Here is the basketball district that these three will play in: Anahuac East Chambers Hardin Houston YES Prep East Houston YES Prep N. Central Houston YES Prep Southeast Houston YES Prep Southwest YES Prep Gulfton

Yates turned in 1000 for their enrollment. Missed staying in 4A by 5 students (bottom for 4A was 1005). Yates is the largest 3A in the state with the 1000 enrollment. Stephenville and Kaufman are 2nd and 3rd with 999 and 998. Just did not think their numbers would have dropped over 200 and also didn't think Wise and admins would allow them to drop (ego).

Im a North SETXSports fan as opposed to being a South SETXSports fan. It has been impossible not to notice (and for good reason) that the HJ/Silsbee games I and II have received more publicity from the forum than Tebow did on ESPN after winning 5 in a row. I am wondering how long it takes for this to become another HJ/Silsbee thread, but I don't think it will take long (and wasn't my intention for this thread). They should have their own forum. Back to being a North SETXSports fan, Huntington and Jasper play Friday night in Huntington. Both have one district loss (Huntington to Center, Jasper to Huntington) and this game has potential to be huge for the 18-3A title. Neither team is in the top 5 in the state, but this is a big game for a couple of good SETX teams. Congrats to HJ...I'm glad y'all split, that gives the South SETXsports fans the fuel to talk about who really is the better team.
About as long as YOU putting these two schools in the title. ::)
LMAO!!! Good one, Tim.
Get these numbers. Out of the seventeen games these two teams have played in 21-3A Silsbee has won 10 with HJ winning 7. Silsbee avgerage point in winning is 9.1, HJ is 9.0. These two teams where in the same 4A district a while back, I wonder what the scores were from that time?
Let's just say, they were good for Silsbee, not so good for HJ. ;) Silsbee won all 4 district games those two years by very comfortable margins. -
What has been the largest margin of victory EVER between Hardin Jefferson and Silsbee? 4A and 3A.
Silsbee thumped HJ pretty hard those 2 years that HJ was 4A. That '97 or '98 Silsbee team won a couple by 30 or more. Back when I was in school ('82), Silsbee beat HJ in their Christmas Classic by 30.
