  1.   You willing to make a sizable wager on that? ;)
  2.   I do pay taxes to BISD.
  3. Then why would one school board member attend and pay out of his own pocket but yet another attends and charges district $1,000 in expenses?
  4.   It wasn't 15 extra medals, it was 35 extra medals on top of the 20 given out by UIL. Why on earth would a school need 55 medals for a 19 member basketball team who lost in the semifinals? (btw, I thought that was the real championship game)   Like I said, I have no problem with the district using school money on the team and a couple admins. But if you care to look at who the others were who charged the district for their expenses, it would be excessive particularly with how the district state of business is currently in.
  5.   If you look at the documents, the $16,000 didn't just cover the team and coaching staff. There were "others" that had no real business attending the tourney on the school districts dime.   Also, UIL gave team and staff 20 medals but BISD thought it was "necessary" to order 35 more at a cost to the school district.
  6.   I agree.
  7.   An opinion can be "uneducated".   If stated "in my opinion that High Island basketball team could beat Beaumont Central basketball team" that would be a very "uneducated" opinion. ;)

  9. Dove, you are beginning to make yourself look "uneducated" with these "excuses". ;) ;)
  10.   I know all about the BISD suite that is purchased every year. ;)

  12. I saw the report and it seemed very excessive on the part of BISD. Particularly after sup had made comments before state tourney of cutting down on travel expenses. I totally understand using school funds for the team (15 or so players), coaches (4-5) and an admin or two. But not the amount of folks the paper work shows who went and how many charged the district for expenses.   Also, BISD ordered an additional 35 medals over the 20 medals that the UIL handed out to the team and coaching staff. 35 extra?!!   This is way over the top!
  13. According to sources, if Commissioner Williams does not order a takeover, it will be the first time TEA has recommended a takeover and the commish not followed through.
  14.   Was still not on campus like your first post stated. Did not involve anyone from Central HS.
  15. Also this morning:   KFDM News ‏@kfdmnews 3m Former West Brook booster club pres. Bo Kelley's home also raided. #kfdmnews. pic.twitter.com/zxXIKRwrGO
  16.   Shooting was not at Central. Corner of 11th and Laurel in the street.

  18.   TEA will manage the school district. Not sure if they will "clean house" of administrators.
  19.   TEA took over Wilmer-Hutchins a few years ago.
  20.   Correct, hence the word "takeover". ;)   Saw this coming for a long time.
