  1.   So, I assume 10 hour days for the next 3 weeks, 15-21 days, at a total cost of at least $125,000. That's just for the appeal to TEA and not the "endth" degree that the law firm has stated it is prepared to go to see this thru. Cost could reach million.
  2.   Yea, TEA threatens to take over school districts every month.   Only 4 school districts have been taken over by TEA in the last 50 years, soon to be 5.
  3. [Hidden Content]     Organized crime?
  4. Was this a set up all along? ;)
  5. I'll abide.   From here on out I'll refer him as Dr. Lame Duck Sup. ;) :D
  6.   No.   But I stole a pack of gum once when I was a kid and was never convicted. ;)
  7. [Hidden Content]       Williams says a state takeover is necessary to restore the district's financial stability, and the public's trust, he says BISD has yet to do it right. He said, "It's also unfortunate that as recent as right now the district has failed to file its annual financial report, which was due as far back as January." There are still two pending TEA investigations into BISD, they deal with cheating allegations and attendance issues. Williams says once he installs a seven-member board of managers in late May, before the end of the school year, he'll most likely as the board to complete those investigations. He says the board will serve a complete two-year term, which is the maximum it can be in place.  He says sometime after the end of that term in June 2016, a school board election will be held. Williams also pointed out that the takeover has nothing to do with race issues.  He says it's all about financial dysfunction.
  8. [Hidden Content]     Duh
  9.   Maybe he is referring to the other 5-2 vote the board had in allowing the district to continue to pay Magee for another 4 months.
  10. [Hidden Content]     Wonder what changed her mind. ;) :D
  11. [Hidden Content]   Not surprised. Just another waste of taxpayer money.     They will lose the appeal.       Also heard indictments are heading their way to some BISD admins. ;)
  12.   My wife is a 25 year tenured school teacher, I know exactly what is expected of substitute teachers. Not all subs are considered "student sitters", particularly "permanent" subs like your self. ;)   Maybe it's a BISD thing.
  13.   So a sub does not teach in BISD?
  14.   and at the end of the day (June 14) that will no longer be the case. ;)   You said that there would never be a takeover and "they" were untouchable.   Anyone who knows how the system works knew that the takeover would not happen immediately. TEA has to allow for an appeal process and time to appoint a team of managers and new sup.   I would have expected a person with your "fine" education to know this.   BTW, why did that "fine" education that you received free from a highly respected and honorable institution only land you a sub job at BISD? ;)
  15.   With the "new guy" supervising (he has the power to veto ANY decision made by board or sup) you can bet the decisions made by the lame duck board and sup will be a bit more "carefully decided" than in the past. ;)
  16. Board member Reece's comments on TEA takeover:   [Hidden Content]     Reece claims the commissioner being republican was why he ruled for the takeover.
  17. Yet another one from ozensfinest:     AggiesAreWe, on 09 Apr 2014 - 10:27 AM, said: No need to bet just take my word for it, Chargois will remain the Supt. and the changes the TEA would make if they were to takeover Chargois have already made. Aggie I work for BISD man trust me I know what's going on.           So you know, huh?   I now see why you chose not to accept my wager offer. ;)
  18. Another post from ozensfinest:       Those who have done wrong will be dealt with other than that BISD will remain intact(Chargois will not be replaced) despite what many of you wish. I have some folks close to the situation, and I can almost guarantee you that TEA will not take over BISD. Let's just say Dr. Thomas and others have a lot of power.         I am enjoying this. :D
  19. A post from ozensfinest:     One more thing I wanna say about this, can you guys please stop saying the kids are being affected by the things that are going on with BISD, in no way shape or form are the kids being affected by this situation. They are still getting up in the am going to receive a quality education stop the madness people please. And another thing, for those who think the Supt. will be forced to resign. What the HELL is taking so long for him to resign? Let me guess FBI and TEA are looking for move evidence on the school district, better yet what is taking Micheal Williams so long to make a decision?  If BISD was in such disarray why would he need to "take his time" with the whole situation? After Williams came into office it took him only a few days to send in TEA to take over the El Paso school district. Before you guys get on here posting nonsense do a little research on the relationship between Chargois, Dr. Thomas & the TEA Micheal Williams.          Weeeeeellllll..............................
  20. [Hidden Content]   [Hidden Content]     Where is ozensfinest?   Untouchable, huh.
  21. [Hidden Content]   Sup would likely be out if TEA takes over.
