1. And congratulations to Silsbee also, they made a great run in football and basketball. Their community should be proud. Great group of kids!!!
 2. That’s awesome to hear, I always pull for any team from southeast Texas. Also that’s one the things I love about this website, you get updates on the game. Bring home the gold BU.
 3. We are in the district we should be, plain and simple.
 4. Tell you what guys, Orangefield has some talent coming up. I have never seen skills at a young age that some of these have. And it’s not only in basketball. The baseball future is bright also. My grandson is a 7th grader, they lost one game in football and one in basketball. I do know that the district may change after next year but they will still compete no matter what district they are in.
 5. My grandson is on the seventh grade team and they only lost one game this year and that was to a 5A school. On another note, someone posted on another thread that EC has a lot of move ins, transfers or whatever. I don’t believe that to be true, see Winnie is like Newton and WOS. Nobody moves out, I recognize last names from 42 years ago. 🤣🤣🤣
 6. I am formally BleedOrange on here and have not comment since 2008, of course that was when my daughter graduated. I really enjoy and appreciate the job you guys do on this website. I like being able to get the scores and they are usually posted the night of, that being said I went to watch Orangefield varsity last night in any sport for the first time since 2009. I was impressed, these kids have skills and moved the ball around well. I go watch my grandkids now and they have some talent coming up. Don't know about the girls but the future looks bright for the boys in basketball. No we will probably never beat silsbee. LOL!!!!!!
 7. Bobcats are flying under the radar. Got to love it.  :)
 8. Really happy for you Mike, it was well deserving my friend and long over do.
 9.
I don't think it's Orangefield's athletes.  I think it is the program overall.  You are right in the past years kids did not make decisions coaches did.  You were trained hard .  Now it seems there is more who you know or how you brown nose the coaching staff.  I am sure the program is going down because no one likes to lose.  If you promote brown nosing over hard work it is going to happen.  I have never seen a basketball team where girls that start can lose the ball or make bad passes and decisions and laugh about it and not be in trouble In the past Coach Tennison would make you run bleachers or suicides for that.  Now you can be a starter.  It makes for a happy losing team I guess.  When Coach Peveto was here he tried to get the most out of every player  not just a few teacher or friends kids.  I have had school administration tell me if they make the girls run track they will quit.  Then let them.  You could have a group of kids that had heart .You ran for extra conditioning for all the other sports you were in .  He filled all events and you did them.  When Coach Peveto was here that's how it was.  It's the same kids just different rules.  That starts with the school athletic program and especially the Coaches.
This is a hard post for me to comment on. I agree with some of the things you said but I also disagree. Kids have changed because parents have changed. Kids are a reflection of their parents. The problem is not the coaching staff, the problem is the coaching staff has no power or backing not even from the administration. I also know that parents have rose colored glasses on and think their kid is better than he/she is. I played for coach Peveto so I know all to well. Sorry but coach Peveto could not coach at Orangefield in this day and time. I know nothing about the brown nosing. Coach Peveto did not fill events with kids in track. You competed and earned a spot on the track team, There is a difference. If the athletic director at Orangefield ran his program like coach Peveto did he would not have a program left. Parents back then did not say a word at least not to coach Pevetos face. Now the head Coaches office is like a revolving door and it never stops.
 10. Dam Usetobe, I thought I was good but I have to admit you are pretty dam good. Old school is all I can say. ;D ;D
 11. Yes he played at Lamar in the late 50's early 60's and was a student coach at Lamar.
 12. Don't know but I wish I knew. Times have changed like we discussed before and yes all the kids from Orangefield understood what he was teaching us and still do to this day. Enjoyed our conversation. Orangefield is not the same and that is what I am sad about. There is only one Ed Peveto, what year was you there? Pretty sure we are talking about the same man. He was a big man but not in height. Probably about 5' 10" but built like a bull.

I got on here and said the umps sucked and yall attacked me.... Just like on the football threads, I defend our boys and get attacked for it... You guys act like your 12... Disagreeing and saying we whine and place blame is perposturous... All Im saying is you guys may need to get a life...
I haven't been in on this exchange but I just can't resist reaching out to bedelmon (he brings it on himself).  If all you are saying is you guys may need to get a life, then let me show you how to say it and the rest of your stuff can be omitted.  Here's how:  "You guys may need to get a life."  See, bedelmon, how easy that is? ::) 8)
Still the funny guy, I love it. LOL!!!!!!!!
So you and bedelmon are a couple now.  I didn't see that coming. ;D
No, No and No LOL!!! Never read any of his/ her post. Still the funny guy. ;D ;D ;D You are good man. 15.
I agree HJ has fell on their face, thats simple to see, I also agree that umpires are human and make mistakes. You would have to agree 1-2 blown calls (mistake) has to be acepted as 'part of the game' BUT 3-5 in a game is a little much....even in any summer program, we're talking about District HS baseball game. Just mention> missed calls, 'ducks', 'Tx Leagers', bad breaks or whatever and its fair game to pile on. I wasn't at the game but when you hear the same story from several different realiable sources you tend to believe. I always told my kids if you score enough runs a cpl of bad breaks won't hurt. I have no problem with telling anyone how it is without sugarcoating anything
I agree, but what is done is done. Time to move on, we cannot predict the unpredictable. I was not at the game also but you know as well I as I do when you hear a second hand story it can be twisted many ways. Not sot saying this is the case just saying. It should be something the HJ kids build off of. LIfe is funny man and the ones that learn will succeed.

I am not talking about the orangefield game, I am talking about the whole season. HJ was predicted to come in third or second at the start of the season. Regardless of what the umps did in the Orangefield game it did not ruin HJ season. They pretty much did that on their own. Why do people always point the finger and blame someone else for their misfortune. Why cant you just say our kids underachieved and be done with it. Because basically that is what they did. Sometimes and most of the times parents and kids need to hear the truth. Quit sugar coating everything for our young people.  I promise you life in the real world is not sugar coated.  ;)
Preach to em.
Hahahahahaha I love to preach but no one listens. I am just blowing a lot of hot air. LOL!!!!!! Also I will be called a lot of ugly names before the night is over. I love it!!!!!!

 18. I ran the 800 meters also but was average. My best time was a 2:04, I was more of a sprinter so one track meet my coach put me in the 200 meters I came in fourth and was the only white guy in the finals. LOL!!!! After that I ran the 4 x100, 200m and the1600m relay. I said thank you track gods. That 800m was a killer, did not like it. LOL!!!!!!!!! But we did what the coaches told us to do for the team. I also remember a Ledoux kid from png that went on to Lamar and did quite well. I think he ran the hurdles. Lincoln had some good track teams.
 19. See I did remember just butchered the spelling of the last name. The 800 meter runner from Orangefield was Bradley Peveto. His older brother Jeff coached at PNG for a few years. Just don't remember when. I want to say coach Malone was there then. May have been Barnett now that I think about it.
 20.
My teammate and friend in HS ran a 1:52-1:55 on a regular basis. I think he averaged in the 1:53-1:54 range. He graduated from PN-G in 2001 and won state in 2001. I do not believe he PR'd in state though. He went on to win the SLC in the 800m.
I remember him, correct me if I wrong but did he go to Lamar. I want to say his last name was champayne or something like that. I could be off the wall on this one. LOL !!!!!! I do remember this kis though. I know I butchered that name.
