1. Also I looked what the Orangefield kids did at the district meet back in 1980. If that same team would have competed in the 21 3A meet this year they would have scored 188 points and that is not counting the triple jump, 3200 meters and 4 x 200 meter relay. They did not have those events at that time.  They would have scored over 200 and WOS would have been a distant 2nd. Not bragging but it just shows there was more of an emphasis on track back then. Coach Peveto knew that track was the key atleast at that time and period. LOL!!!!!!!! I know, I know times have changed. OK, I am off my soap box. ;D ;D It did help that we had a 2 time state champ in the 800 meters. LOL!!!!!! (1:52.9) That is a pretty salty time. The golden triangle has not seen a time like that since 1980. Orangefield would have finished 1,2 and 3 in the 800 meters with the slowest time being a 2:01.
 2. Usedtobe, I know you did not say anything about orangefield not having athletes and I did not take your post that way. I was just venting to myself.  The UIL changed it to 3 in 2008 I think. Track seems to be a lost art, I really don't won't them to drop it but I am concerned about the lack of  emphasis on the sport. Orangefields track team has been down for sometime now. I do know that times have changed but that being said there is no reason why Orangefield cannot be competitive and right now they are none of the above. I believe in Track what can I say. LOL!!!!!! But you won't see me on one anymore. ;D  9 out 10 times you have a good track team your football team is pretty good also. It is sad when there is more tennis players going to regionals than the whole track team.
I agree, this has to be the funniest thread on setx so far. People are so quick to judge. Kids are a reflection of their parents. Parents should look in a mirror. But alot do not.  So many people take up for their school as they should but everyone wants to point a finger instead of putting the blame on who is really at fault. I heard words such as "Thug" really? I hate to disappoint  everyone but there are "Thugs" at every school.  Hey Stang4life, WOS is not perfect and neither is any other school. Just saying!!!!!!!!
I guess that both of you were there and saw the incident. ??? ??? ::)
Your are a funny guy this morning. :o To answer your question, No I was not there. My point was and still is there are thugs at every school.  Have a nice day.

Because it is clear that some coaches and some  kids not all could careless about the sport of track. By the way they should have dropped it many years ago. Really sad how far track has dropped on the depth chart at Orangefield. Most of the time not all if you have a good track program your football program is pretty good also. Just ask WOS they can tell you. Maybe Orangefield should start a swimming team or maybe bowling. :-[
I assume you are "Tongue in cheeking" about dropping track.  I remember that the Bobcats developed a series of PDG boys poll vaulters a few years back. :) 8)
Yes Orangefield had some good pole vaulters but that was many years ago and that is a small fraction of a track team.  Orangefield won the district championship in 1980, 81, 82 and 83.  Also in those years went sent quite a few young men to the state track meet who brought home state championships. In those years we had pretty good football teams also. That being said I know the district is different now but back then we competed with Jasper and Silsbee who were 4A and pretty much blew away 4A's like Port Neches, Nederland and Bridge City at the time. We also beat TJ and SFA in a trianglar meet held between the 3 schools. TJ was 5A, Todd Dodge was a Junior at the time. TJ had some athlete's at that time like Bruce Miller and many more. Orangefield is proud of their past pole vaulters and should be but that is the past. I want to be proud of the "Track Team".  Don't see that happening anytime soon.
Yep, with supporters like you the obvious answer is "Give up." SMH  ::)
LOL!!!!!! thats funny. Why is it when someone tells the truth on here then they are negative or not supportive? If they don't like what I say then do something about it. You can't tell me that Orangefield does not have any athletes, I know they do. They had one regional qualifier and that was a third place finish. You know nothing about me man. Back in those 80's it was manditory that you ran track if you played football. You may not have been on the track team but you did the workouts like everyone else. We also competed with each other to earn a spot on that Track Team and this was every week. You can shake your head all you want but until Orangefield addresses this problem I will continue to voice my opinion. ;) Also back then the parents backed the coaches and never questioned their decisions.
 5.
I hate that this happened and no community, school district, parent, or coach wants to be represented this way. I also hate to see that this has governed more attention than the District meet itself. A lot of great stories happened during that track meet, but not seeing much covered. Our district has the opportunity to send multiple athletes to state with the times they recorded at district. I for one would love to see the media start showering the public with positive news instead of negative, but the media gives the people the news they want to hear :) Great job to the WOS boys and girls 4x200m and HF's boys 4x400m. All times that put them in the running for an opportunity to go to state!!!
I agree, good post.
 6.
We realize that and so should others.  And to the statement that it has nothing to do with anything Silsbee did...it has everything to do with what Silsbee and WO-S did.  And yes, there were no WO-S tracksters involved.  Maybe the adults should get the facts and then consider both sides before passing judgements.  But, that would too much to ask.  LOL
I agree, peace out this is bleed Orange. LOL!!!!!

BC and Silsbee are in of course and the fight is for third. Yes, this did help Orangefields cause but at this point in the season Buna is palying better and has the better chance to take that third spot. HJ has never really been in the race up to this point.
Your correct its your opinion but its like some other things we all have. So from your post I guess all others should lay down, your right HJ hasn't been in it so they should just play their JV the rest of the season. I'll say it again its a shame for >>ANY<< team NOT to have exp Umpires in Dist games, I hope Silsbee gets these same 2 in Bi-Dist...., surely he won't scratch ether of them. One call >could< cost a game or swing the momentum, if you disagree >>you havn't been to many contest...plain n simple
Questions, why do you hope that Silsbee get these umps in Bi-District? Why not other teams getting them in 1st round? How do you know Silsbee will play a 1st round (Bi-District) playoff?
Hmm not sure about why Silsbee is being hated on like that . The person 643 is talking to isn't from Silsbee. Silsbee didn't have anything to do with any of this game. Just not sure why you pointed out only Silsbee?
I guess 643 thinks I am from Silsbee. ;D I agree 643 some calls can change a game but these umpires are human, they are going to make mistakes. Do I think the other teams should lay down well of course not. Just stating that Buna is playing better than the other teams fighting for that last playoff spot at this point in the season. By the way I have been to one game this year  and it reminded me why I never went to many games before.
 11.
H J was spanked by WOS with a bunch of "Texas League pop ups" .Then they were getting beat by just about everyone in District because Duplant was not starting games. When he starts and they lose the game it was the umpires fault. When someone tries to point out that bad calls are part of every game,Bedelmon says they are on crack. At what point can H J fans just accept that the kids are under achieving.Looks like the wheels have fell off over there and H J fans are looking for excuses.
LOL!!!! I wanted to say this but thought I would be nice for a change. In the preseason HJ was a lock for a playoff position according to the posters on here.  Shows you how much they know. LOL!!!!!!!!!

 13. This game is a toss up, I was leaning towards Silsbee because they have been blowing teams out but here comes Buna and Silsbee could have easily lost that game. I will pick Silsbee at home. ;D
 14. Actually is was the team that won and they were by far the superior team in this contest. In other words stealing signs or not it would not have helped the losing team. ;D

Unbelievable how parents are these days. The whole part of the game is finding a way to win and giving yourself an edge. Stealing signs is very similar to scouting a game and writing a list of things the other team does to give yourself a better chance of winning. Stealing signs has been part of the game for a very long time! When I was playing college ball our coaches taught us ways to figure out signs and we would have guys every game assigned to just  breaking signs and trends to give our hitters an advantage. Its not cheating it is part of the game! You see it all the time the guy on second signalling to the hitter what pitch is coming in some form or fashion. Get over it parents! I agree with GCMPats2.....get better at giving signs and this will not be an issue!
Stealing the signes is not the issue, the behavior after the game was.
I understand that, but what they were upset about was the stealing of the signs. If they were good at what they did, there would have been no reason to get angry.
Why get angry if it is part of the game.  By the way the women in the stands started the whole thing on both sides. The coaches were not involved. LOL!!!!!! Women, can't take them anywhere.  ;D ;D ;D Just kidding.

 17. I posted earlier on the WOS/ BC game and saw somethings I have never seen in the game of baseball. I was corrected and realized I have lost touch with time. Today I went and watched my nephew at ford park, his team is from Houston. This was a 11 year old select team. They won against a team from Vidor 6-2 but after the game accusations were made from one team to another that one team was stealing the others pitch signals. It got heated and words where exchanged. Times have changed my friends say what you want but parents are out of control and it is not just the 11 year old select team.
 18. When I am wrong, I am man enough to admit it. I was wrong in posting what I did on a public forum. I played high school baseball 33 years ago and some of the thing that go on today did not happen back then. I guess I will have to get use to it. In no way shape or form was I trying to discredit the BC Coach or its program. I don't even know the man. My message came across wrong and for that I am sorry.
 19. Lets see how much money does Jose Altuve make?  I am sure it is way more than any high school or college player. Is that the best example you can give?
 20.
Someone alert the media!!!! Jose Altuve for the Houston Astros just left his batting helmet for the 3rd base coach to take back to the dugout!! HOW DISRESPECTFUL AND ARROGANT!!! Isn't that right Riding Solo?? Rake1
Yes it is, that is why I do not watch professional sports. Are you saying high school kids should act the same way?
 21. Really Rake, you must be the head coach. Like I told you before never been to a a little leauge game but if you guys shape your game after professionals or the college sports than that is sad. At one time I thought high school sports was the puriest form of athletics, I guess I was wrong. Baseball is not the only sport. By the way I never back down from anything. Maybe you should try your luck and see. ;D
 22. Sorry Rake Rake Rake have not been Enlightened just yet. My guess is you have a son that playes on the team. Never been to a little league game so you are wrong about me, matter of fact my kids are grown. Actually my deal is not about BC but schools in general. I sat up in the stands and listened to little league coaches and they said and I quote, they would have their pitchers plunk a kid for what went on in that game. You can say what you want but that goes on all the time and in the system, Little league or varsity. They learn from the professional sports.
 23. It is all about respect and I saw none of that. Respect for adults and the other team. So there you go.  ;)
