  1. Yea, with that injury and so much pressure and stress put on that part of the leg, especially playing running back, I doubt he is back for district play. Maybe their playoff run...
  2. Bro, you think he will play this year?
  3. September 5th can't get here soon enough...
  4. Friday the 13th will be a nightmare for all 3 of them...
  5. Well if the T-Wolves wind up 8-2, that means that they beat your beloved Titans because North Shore will be a loss for us and even though I think it will be closer than last year, the WB game will be a loss too. I hadn't released my season prediction for BU yet this year but since you said it, I was going with 8-2 or 7-3, loosing to Deer Park as well. I will only stick with that prediction if a particular coach is given the keys to the offense which I won't know for sure until August 5th...
  6. A nice vigil was held last night for Coach Taylor. I think the kids will use this as some additional motivation and win a few games that they lost last year...

  8. Good for them on trying to rebuild that program. Every kid in every community should at least have the opportunity to play football if they choose to...
  9. Cardiac arrest is what I was told. RIH...
  10. United offensive coordinator and former Ozen head coach Ed Taylor has passed...
  11. Offense will pretty much stay the same from what I know but should be better with everyone having at least 1 full year together. They started out in a 4-3 defensive scheme before switching to a 3-4 for the PA game and then eventually back to the 4-3. So I guess there will be some change by using the 4-2-5...
  12. Not much lower you can go. They will improve, it's just a question of whether it's by 1 additional win or 6.
  13. At least 3 of the former Central coaches listed above will not be coaching with United this coming season and a 4th has accepted an assistant principal position on the campus. If the O-line can give QB Vaughn decent protection, he along with RB Wilson will lead this years offense in scoring more than 18 points a game. The biggest difference will be not as many 3 and outs simply because this QB will pick up a few yards with his feet when nothing else is there. Wilson should have been the starter from the get go last year. There are plenty of targets for Vaughn to throw to. With 7 starters returning on defense and plenty of other kids with significant playing time, they won't give up 32 points a game. The defenses biggest benefit will be from the offense not having so many 3 and outs as last years unit. Last years team was better than 2-8 and I do think this years team will will get more than 2 wins.
  14. I was just about to ask that. That's crazy. First year getting to the playoffs since 2008 and have to cut staff. Sounds like someone doesn't want the Hornets playing good football...
  15. Me and you know it happens right here in Beaumont...
  16. According to the West Brook schedule, the scrimmage is on Thursday, August 22nd @ BISD Stadium @ 7 pm. United will be scrimmaging at BISD Stadium on the 23rd.
  17. Beaumont United 08/16 vs Pasadena South Houston @ BISD Stadium @ 6pm 08/23 vs Pasadena Dobie @ BISD Stadium @ 7pm
  18. Ha ha, you wouldn't be implying that they recruit would you?
  19. I'm quite sure there are a stable full of Mustangs on Castlegory Dr. waiting on their shot to step up when those two are gone.
  20. Maybe they get lucky and get grouped with the Pasadena schools next year.
  21. Yea they split with Strake last year but I think they beat them this year. In Beaumont and Brooks side will be packed...
  22. As long as either Deer Park or Channelview get in along with North Shore of course, Brook has it made. If a combination like say NS, WB, United and CE King get in, then Brook will go D1.
  23. My 2019 projections... 1. Galena Park North Shore 2. Beaumont West Brook 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. LaPorte 8. Baytown Sterling I'll feel in the other 4 spots before practice starts...
  24. Let me help you out. I'm waiting on WOSGrad preview to come out Friday about United to verify this but from what I know, the majority of the coaches that were at Central in 2017 that came over to United in 2018, won't be back in 2019. They were "inherited" instead of merged with the Ozen staff, if you know what I mean. I also keep getting calls/text from people close to AL that says he will step down prior to the season starting, which will force the keys to be handed over to ET. Some will call me a "homer" for this statement and that's fine but the talent/potential is there to beat every team on the schedule except the two that went to state last year. But just as last year it's the coaching staff and division amongst it that causes me concern...
  25. Dave Campbell's has the district finishing like this... 1. Galena Park North Shore - D1 2. Beaumont West Brook - D2 3. Sheldon C.E. King - D2 4. Channelview - D1 5. Deer Park 6. Beaumont United 7. LaPorte 8. Baytown Sterling
