Mitchell hasn't improved over the 3 years and neither has the play calling. Defense was outstanding considering the short fields they had to defend. Put Mitchell in the secondary and switch back to the wishbone is the only way Central can win consistantly
Hmm not to say your wrong, but look at the talent Mitchell had his Fresh and Soph year. He had at the very least, 3 good recivers and 2 good backs to get the ball to and take the pressure off him. He was surronded by playmakers. Last season and seems the same this season, he doesnt really have alot of players around him which is rare for a central team. Ive seen the kid play ball and throw. He has all the mechanics to be a great one. Just no one to get the ball to.
SFA85, you are so correct. I said a couple of years ago when they were trying to play sissy ball (spread) that they should just play Vidor's style of offense. Yes I said that seriously. We line up with 2 and 4 receivers but every body knows that our passing isn't a serious threat. If we do have a QB that can accurately get the receivers the ball, they can't catch it. I've watched this kid since he first stepped in his freshman year in a playoff game in Baytown. I was like man he is going to be special. Well he hasn't failed us, the coaching staff at Central has failed him and us. They have not progressed with his development at all. I bet if he had been a Bruin or Panther, he would probably have some decent scholarship offers. Stump worked wonders with what he had and Nelson seems to be doing fine too. Not us. We have another special QB in the pipeline, I guess we'll just waste him away too... Central has more athletes then the other 2 schools in Beaumont hands down in my opinion. But due to coaching, they don't utilize and progress with them in the correct manner. If Central fails to make the playoffs for 2 years in a row, it SHOULD be time for a change at the top with NO holdovers. And stop hiring these guys from here, they are too budy budy with the players. Instead of being like Suggs and Stowers, there to coach football, not make friends. That's the real reason we had playoff runs back then...
pssst Big Ford. Tell him to transfer to Vidor and play for Jeff.
I know Jeff back from my days in coaching, I bet he'd know what to do with him...

Thats what the insiders didn't like...

You will see friday night these kids are on another level this year.. 6 D-1 ball players on defense.
6 D-1 players means nothing. PN-G scored twice on that. Also, BTW, Memorial is (and I'll say it again) is more athletic accross the board than WO-S and is much bigger than you. You guys just put your best athletes on defense.
Ok, so you guys shut out a never really competitive LC-M team and beat an unatheletic PN-G team. Pretty good for a 3A team but I'd put my money on PA-M having the best defense around here. You'll may have some of the same speed but no comparison when it comes to their size. And playing 2 5A schools has us right where we need to be , ready for you'll and district. You'll will not go 3-0 against 20-4A this year... Central 27 WO-S 21 I think this will be you'll first time visiting "The Butch"as a school. Hope you enjoy...
Central returns the kickoff for a TD. Could it help that the kickoff only went 20 yards? SMH. West Brook 7 Central 7. This is going to be a long game. Ugh!
How does a kickoff only go 20 yards unless it was a pooch or intentional onside?

I can respect his honest and unbiased statements. How you going to comment on a game about TD's being called back when you were not even there to support your Titans? Commentators are usually biased for one team or the other. I think Fisk is the better QB for PAM. His accuracy and timing was ridiculous with his receivers. And the way he holds on to the ball on the read option till the last second was killing us in the first half. I think PAM will be fine though along with my Jags. I actually thought the flags were legit on both sides. Both teams had costly calls that I seen too. The thing that I felt kept PAM from pulling away was there composure. The dive play will be there for my Jags later in the season. Glad to see they got away from it because 91 and 3 didn't give up anything up the middle. They are some roadblocks. If Centrals receivers would catch the ball, there passing game will be better than its been in a long time. I tip my hat to the OC and DC because for many years they have failed to make adjustments during the game but they actually did tonight. And the young Jags were not intimidated, they hit back...legally.
First of all the PA announcer said it was a TD. ;) (and why would i be there to a game where as i thought it would be yet another blowout? Riddle me that sir). And the Broadcasters were not biased if you were listening to it. ;) Central will be ok this year if they change up some of the plays they were running. when Mitchell decided to make plays on his own it seem like he was making Memorial look silly. also, why didnt lil Mitchell get more touches?
I didn't lisen to commentators, I was at the game from start to finish... And Mitchell played a smart game, sliding and getting out of bounds when necessary. We don't need him for a game but instead for the season. And yes he kept some drives alive with his feet but he was actually looking for the pass first.

PAM is up on the score but these Jags are not intimidated like last year. PAM plays some nice sissy ball (spread) but Jags are playing a nice physical I-formation with nice passing out of it. I didn't see last years QB for PAM but the one they have this year is nice. Accurate throws, timing with War's and runs the hell out of the read option. Besides the ugly logo on the helmet, PAM has the best uniforms in the area. Upset of the night is here in PA...

Send your score updates to me

I guess us Jags won't need to send you the "beatin'" of a score at tonight's game...
