I'm not going to put either team or player down. Both teams will finish in the top 4 in district. PA Memorial is "MY" preseason pick to win district but I'm no expert and as we all know, the games have to be played. I see PN-G as having the best complete QB in the district both passing and running but as for "most dangerous offensive backfield" I would give it to the Titans. Until proven otherwise, Hines is the best returning RB in the district but his size is what stops him from getting the "big time" offers. Jones can run but can he throw with accuracy and consistency?

It's hard to believe that Ozen has ever had higher attendance numbers than Central.

That could be it very much so. Kind of how I viewed us the last 4 years, enough talent to get us to the playoffs but not enough coaching to get past the 1st round...

Exactly. Before the addition of PA Memorial, Nederland (1596) and Central (1471) were always your big school representatives going against bigger schools. That's why regardless of finish this coming year, I'm hoping for Nederland to make the playoffs along with PA Memorial (2098) so that those 2 can be the D1 reps. And Central and PN-G (1447) to get in and be the D2 reps. Since this format, Central has never played on the D2 side.

Ozen (1121) and Lumberton (1157) have been dealing with the likes of PA Memorial (2098). The Panthers beat the Titans 2 years ago if my memory serves me correct...

Boy that 5A-II is a gauntlet! 7 of the 8 teams in that district could be in the playoffs this year! That would be a good spot for Ozen...

Not on topic of your main question but I 100% agree with you 2 post. I have confidence in Nelson and company to take the program to the next step. I also agree with you, up until this point, Stowers was the best head football coach to be at 88 Jaguar Dr.

Ok, I just picked up my copy of DCTF today. Looks like pretty much no information was gathered or given on Central. Central will not miss the playoffs as DCTF is predicting. And I'm sticking with my prediction...

Well in my opinion, 5 games will determine how Central's season plays out... vs West Brook @ Vidor vs Memorial vs Nederland vs PN-G

The new alignment will create more travel but interesting and more level playing fields...

1. Port Arthur Memorial- until proven otherwise, the Titans are the top team in the district. 2. Beaumont Central- Nelson knows what to do with talent and athletes that Foreman couldn't figure out. 3. Port Neches-Groves- the super sophomore caught everyone by surprise last year just on how good he was. No surprises this year... 4. Vidor- the system. I'd prefer Nederland in this spot so that my Jags can go D2 (something that has never happened since this format of the playoffs). 1 more "Q" to graduate... 5. Nederland- from 2nd to 6th, anything is possible with these guys. 6. Lumberton- just don't have the numbers to get over the hump. 7. Beaumont Ozen- 1 year away before they are a serious playoff contender. 8. Livingston- could move up as high as 6th if the ball bounces right. 9. Baytown Lee- 0-10...again.

How about you get that list of 30 for us

Well I'm pulling for Nelson and Thompson to put it on the schedule starting in 2018. Central was playing them until Foreman and Thompson had a "conflict of interest"...

And a coach the last 4 years that didn't know what to do with all the talent that he had. Times have changed... Hamburger Depot meal on it?
