I say West Sabine as well. No basketball game breaking out this year!:):):)
-
Nope. No typo. Kept the stats myself. Was 603 yards on 51 attempts. 2 guys went over 200 yards apiece. The carries were split up between 6 different backs.
-
West Sabine is 1a Division 1. What classification would you be if you weren't a private school? Think you need help at running back and you need to establish more than one reciever other than Falgout (7rec., 138yds. TD, other recievers: 3rec. 19 yds.). Better shore up than run defense too. Got you for 603 yards on the ground tonight. Wish you the best of luck the rest of the season. Darling is a great looking QB in my opinion. Don't sleep on West Sabine in 1A though.....

I can remember a time not so long ago that Burkeville used to churn out running backs like an assembly line. The ones that come to my mind are the Spikes's. Didn't one of them play pro ball with the Dolphins?

Any truth to the rumor that they're moving him from QB to RB? Just a rumor I heard where I work. If true, who would be QB? Just curious........
-
Hey. Thanks for the catch there bro. This was my first year doing this district or magazine work of any kind. They might have misspelled the kids name when they edited it. I did districts 10-2a d1, 12 2a d2, 10 and 11 1a d1 and 11 & 12 1a d2. Other than that, what did you think of those districts in particular? I welcome any criticism that will make my article better next year.
-
@ jessejames: Just out of curiousity, which player are you speaking of?
-
Went to school with both Juan and Marcus. They were something back in the day! We had four plays back then in the playbook: power, scat, lead and the fullback dive. Only pass play was double reverse throwback pass lol! And we had some hawgs up front too, think we averaged around 300lbs. across the front one of those years. It worked like a charm though........

I have been there a couple times when West Sabine has traveled there, and the stadium was always packed each time. What I remember most was crawfish at the concession stand. May have just been a one-shot deal that night I was there but I still to this day have never seen it anywhere else. A unique experience, indeed.I can relate to the small-town football thing, because when West Sabine plays Hemphill the entire county shuts down. Kinda like when H-D plays West Hardin, you know? I cannot wait to tee it up Aug. 31st!!!!!!!

Got mine in the mail yesterday.Has a tighter focus this year. Looks slick. Has the whitewright, southlake carroll, and the colleyville heritage QB's on the cover.
-
Glad to see my post has stirred up a little controversy! Sometimes that is more fun the games themselves! All I was saying is dont underestimate them. @jessejames: yes those type games are often quite intense and entertaining to watch. See you on 10/26! @89falcon: yes, I agree both tanner and whitaker will be in the running for mvp, but so will lacey. All three are amazing athletes and are exciting to watch. If you go watch any of them, as T.O. would say, "Getcha popcorn ready!" Can't wait to tee it up in August!!!
-
Forgot to make my prediction earlier. West Sabine at least three rounds deep, according to the match-ups they draw.
-
Everyone in 1A Region 3 seems to be caught up in the San Augustine dropping to to 1A hoopla. They are extremely talented and will no doubt be a handful for anyone who plays them, and Alto is always strong, and then you have Mart with another Cosby in the backfield waiting in the playoffs. That all being said, West Sabine is a sleeper team that should not be overlooked out of this region. They have one of the best QB's in 1A that nobody seemingly has heard of in Desmond Lacey and an enormous amount of playoff-tested seniors coming back. The young defense which, admittedly, took some lumps last year is a year older and more experienced in the defensive scheme. Overlook them at your own risk, that's all I'm saying.
-
It should have a wider focus this year. More extensive coverage of smaller schools (2A, 1A, etc...).
-
WS/Hemphill(otherwise known as The PineCone Bowl!!!!), Week 1
-
The preseason rankings prove it. District 10 is one of the toughest in the state in 1A Div. 1. Two state ranked teams and a powerful West Sabine squad lurking at the top. Have said this before but it bears repeating: whoever gets out of this district will be tough outs in the playoffs...........
-
I got to see him run from the sidelines at the West Sabine game, and while I think 4.35 is a little much, I wouldn't doubt a 4.4 or 4.45. You are right rlsmith if yall come up with some defense it will be a good year for you all.

Anything on 10 1A d1?
-
Have any local 1A or 2A kids got any offers?
-
Has anyone heard when DCTF and the FNF Texas(theoldcoach.com) magazines will be released? Especially interested in the FNF because I know a guy who contributed to it this year.
-
Why aren't there any 1A teams getting any love on here? Everyone had better keep their eyes on District 10-1A Div.1 because it could possibly be one of the toughest districts in the state and definitely the toughest in the Southeast Texas region in my opinion!
