Congrads Nederland.  You were great on both sides of the ball.  You were well coached and exploited ALL of our weaknesses and did a great job of masking your own.    I believe big ford said that we need new OC and DC.  I dissagree.  EVERYONE needs to go.  We need a coach not from that buddy system.  We need coaches to let our kids understand that its not an option not to be competitive. We need peope to bring Jag football back.  I didnt see it at all.  I dont think ill attend another game this year.  Im done.  nederland will make some major noise in these playoffs.  Im sure i will be seeing some quality football following the Nederland football.  Someone needs to take notes.
If any of you approach Jeff Mathews, I'll shoot first and ask questions later!!! NOT FOR SALE!!! SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!

That was one defensive struggle for sure.
Thanks.  It clinched a playoff spot for us.  Congrats on yalls big win.
We're waiting on ya'll!!!

David Smallwood ! You showed me something tonight . Awesome Job !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes he did. I think he showed the entire Vidor community something tonight. Smallwood is back!  8) Just another weapon we can use on that offense  ;D
Yep , If he continues to run with that type of intensity then Vidors 4 headed monster is complete and dangerous . I can't take anything away from that defense though ( Lights Out Performance ) . I still think that some teams in this area are disregarding this Vidor football team because of their margins of victory against mutual opponents may not be as much . Vidor is not that type of team though . They are not going to run up the score too much . They would rather rest their starters to keep them from being injured and give the second team some valuble experience . Can't wait until Bolinger is back
I know Jeff Mathews well and he doesn't believe in running up the score. We had enough of that crud happen to us in our past. We don't need to lower ourselves.....
 4. CONGRATULATIONS PIRATES FROM THE REPUBLIC OF THAILAND!!! CONGRATULATIONS JEFF MATHEWS!!!
 5. Guarantee you Montana Quirante can play with any linebacker in that list, and probably faster than any of them.
 6. Christmas to come early!!! Rematch with Nederville and then Brenham! Deer season in Texas!!!! It's all good....
 7.

Westbrook- maybe, but probably not. Ozen- If they beat PNG, they get in. Central- There's always next year....
Maybe, we are trying to let Nederland and Vidor in the playoffs so that we can see Brenham in the playoffs!  8) 8) Smart Guy!  ;D ;D
Yall can't see us no matter what.  Now if you do make the playoffs, it could send Vidor our way...  ;)
STILL ON MY KNEES PRAYING FOR THIS ONE!!!!!
 8. All is forgiven. We're used to being disrespected. Just wish everyone would let go of the stereotypes of our past from 40 years ago. Sports wise, we'll prove it on the field where it's deserved.
 9. I would love to see a breakdown of how many players Florida high schools have playing collegiately and professionally compared with Texas. If you're ranking blue chips, I'm sure several states could compete. But for the overall quality and sheer numbers, I'll take the Lone Star state. Most Florida kids play for a Florida university; what would happen if all of Texas' top tier players stayed here? I believe Dallas /FW alone could handle most, if not all, of the states in the U.S. in talent.
 10. Pirates ignore this. Not worth answering. We're above this sort of vile lunacy.
 11. Go to the Brenham thread and look at how many schools are courting the Brown kid. All the usual suspects....proof enough right there.
 12. C'mon guys, this is easy, just look at all the Texas Universities: 1. The University of Texas @ Norman, OK. 2. The University of Texas @ Stillwater, OK. 3. The University of Texas @ Lawrence, KS. 4. The University of Texas @ Manhattan, KS. 5. The University of Texas @ Lincoln, NE. 6. The University of Texas @ Fayetteville, AR. 7. Most of the universities in Louisiana including McNeese and LSU, who recruits heavily in our area. 8. Without the city of Dallas, Oklahoma would be a Div. II school. Texas high school football rules!!!!!
 13. I have to agree, wish the game had an internet broadcast. Not only for the military, but there are three of us expats in Thailand working for our company. Perhaps in the future there can be some sort of internet feed for all the games...
 14. I wouldn't let him see the field....we really need him the last three games of the year and the playoffs. David is extremely fast and a game changer for us. He takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the team when he's in the backfield. You have to respect him outside or the only thing you'll see is his cleats....
 15.
I would take it one game at a time.. Playoffs are tougher than district play.. Plus vidor has a few really tough district games coming up.. I would like for vidor to make it and make some noise..
These Pirates are pretty special too. With some special leadership from several of the players. They will make the playoffs.
 16.

Nederland just keeps improving while all the other teams in the district are getting worse.  :o
Be careful what you wish for, Nederland is a much improved team than what you faced earlier in the season. I don't think that's a realistic possibility though. I don't think Vidor makes it past bi-district if they make the playoffs.

I can only post about what I've seen. I don't see Vidor week-in and week-out to gauge them. I just feel like this Nederland team is special and getting better. I think they will peak at the right time.
Nederland, second round of the playoffs, at a neutral site, with both teams at full strength. I am on my knees deep in prayer right now. Good Lord, please let this happen.....
 17.

I hear that Quirante went out against Nederland as well . They probable hurt the middle of your defense and your offense . When these 2 get reunited then look out
Yeah most of our skill positions got hurt that night. When Bolinger went out they tried #11, Quinten Whitmire, in his position and he got hurt. And he is also a starting corner. Austin Powell also got hurt that game with a bruised up knee and he is starting on Defense and gets some playing time on QB as well. And yes Quirante did get hurt a lil bit with a hyperextension and he starts on QB and MLB but i wasn't gonna bring those up lol.  ::)  8)
Man, did I ever hate missing thatNederland football game. I fly home October 27th and it can't come soon enough....
 18. Montana can also make a keg of quality H2O......
 19. Montana also has the size and speed to play at the next level, possibly D1.
 20.
Vidor's Montana Quirante = MVP Nederland's Carson Raines = Leader PN-G's Jayce Nelson = Best Hands
Agreed! Montana's also a heck of a basketball player as well. And just a junior.....
 21. Your coach is new and young and you have a young team. Give him time to develop his program. Kirbyville has the winning tradition and the talent is there. You lost a good coach and it takes time to recoup.

Just cause you coming back doesn't make you have the same hungry the next year. I say go fight win Pirates NOW 2011. This is a sound football team that doesn't beat themselves. Go Coach Matthews.
Good post! I agree.. Attack NOW! Next year is never guaranteed. Nederland went 3 or 4 years in a row losing their starting QB predistrict. Strike while the iron is hot. Hope we see you again in the playoffs but sorry to say it will be a similar outcome..  ;)
Idk about that. If it happens to be in the cards that we do see each other again i'm sure Bolinger will be back for that game and he will be looking for some payback  8)
I can only hope and pray that we get Mr. Bollinger back and meet our non-rival Nederland in the second or third round of the playoffs....please dear Lord make that happen....
If you meet them, it wouldn't be till the regional final, in D1.  If you go D2, you might get the  Brenham match up you wanted in round 2.
I AM ON MY KNEES IN PRAYER RIGHT NOW!!!
 23. Having graduated at a time when we played eight homecomings a year, I would say homecoming is dictated by who your playing within your district. We have a great band and we were an easy victory. Actually, I think it's dictated by the time of year, at least on Vidor's part. We put on such an elaborate show with the parade and all, it takes a little more planning than just saying "we're playing _____" on the schedule and that would be a good time for it. I consider Central our rival. Epic games with great sportsmanship and comradery. Central scheduling us for their homecoming is fine with me; we'll bring the Band of Bands, 5000 fans, and a heck of a good football team. Should be worth double the price of admittance.....
