Congrats JB we are so proud of you son and your accomplishments after facing so much adversity throughout the years! You will have nay' sayers and those who believe in you but most of all always believe in yourself! One of the best athletes I've ever had the pleasure to see and coach whether it was baseball, football or basketball when you showed up, you were one of the best on the court or field! Use this blessing to get that degree and secure your future, it's worth it!

Panthers just play the game and do the unexpected. Go beyond the call of expectations.

Can't compare either duo because they play different positions. Ozen's duo are a 2 guard & PG, Central's has 2 versatile SF/big guards that cause mismatch problems. Ozen has the better guards, Central has the better versatile mismatch tandem. Neither of Central's tandem are great ball handlers, nor knockdown shooters, but they are so athletic & problematic for other teams;very capable of running the offense if asked to do so. Ozen lack's size at the guard position, rebounding will be a very big problem VS the Jags(can't teach size). It will be very interesting to see the cat & mouse game played between the Coaches. I know what I would do, but nobody wants to hear that.  Lol

I guess you didn't know that basketball was my 1st love and I was pretty good at it. So sticking to basketball,  football and baseball is what I'll do.  Do you even know who John Comeaux is? Boyd is one of the best in the state and skill set is higher than Central's top players. Tyler, Sneed and Jones can knock down the 3 and also handle the ball well. It will be interesting but I don't see either team winning all 3. I just want to say how proud of these two sons who battled through adversity this year to play their hardest for Ozen H.S. Varsity Football team. #34 Dezmon "Bear" Simpson tore his ACL the 1st District game against Lumberton and with the blessings of God was able to play through the season with a brace and only missing 2.5 games. He played throughout the pain because of his love of football and his team to try and help them reach the playoffs. He had surgery on this past Tuesday and we pray for a speedy and healthy recovery.

Lots of good info here already but there is a huge hole in this that nobody has addressed yet and that's the JUCO option. So many kids and parents get caught up in the "I signed D1" race to really take a look at just what they got into. More often than not these kids end up being cheer leaders for a year or two while getting only a handful of AB's, innings pitched, or games played while they wait their turn. If you are not careful and don't research the rosters and commitments you can get yourself buried on the depth chart before you even start. Too many times the bright lights of "I signed D1" gets in the way of making a rational choice. Signing up with a quality JUCO and getting 150-200 AB's a year while playing 60-75 games is not a bad option. Couple that with the fact that you can get a 100% full scholarship and it's hard to deny the fact that JUCO is a very good option. Another thing to consider is that you are taking the exact same classes at JUCO as one would at a D1 without being just a number. For example take freshman english at Texas, A&M, U of H or wherever and you are in an auditorium with several hundred other students, good luck getting to know your teacher. Same class at JUCO and you are looking at a "big class" of 30 people. It's just my opinion but I'd take the chance to play for 2 years and go to a bigger school with a legit shot to be in the lineup over being a practice player and cheerleader for a year or 2. Now don't get me wrong, some situations are different and some freshmen walk in and play from day 1 but those are far fewer than the ones who sit and wait. You have to do your homework before you jump, check the rosters to see how many returning players are at your position and what class they are in. At times D1 coaches are much more apt give a JUCO transfer some scholarship money than they would take a chance on an unproven high school guy, especially after a JUCO guy puts up some good numbers in the classroom and on the diamond. This shows the JUCO has taken care of his business and proven himself, almost like being on probation at a job. Each and every kid has a different set of circumstances and no one route is best for everyone, take your time and explore all the options.

This is Brandon's dad and I also want to congratulate him on the commitment. I didn't get to see him perform in Jupiter, Florida two weeks ago but apparently he brought his "A" game and had a great outing on the bump. He's had quite a few offers but personally knows several players that attended Howard and they all loved the staff and the baseball program. It is one of the top ranked jUCO's in the country and a easy choice for him. Thanks for all the support SETX.

Yes most of the Nederland and PNG teams were prepared for battle. Most of BMW players lacked experience and it showed in this game against a very good opponent. I enjoyed the season but i'm not upset its over. Time to rest a bit and then get ready for basketball and baseball season.

Yeah I watched the whole game between BMW and Ned B. It was back and forth. PA is a very good team. We will give them everything we got and hopefully come out on top. Either way it should be a good close game. We wont lose from lack of preparation I promise.

BMW lost a tough one in the final seconds to Nederland B 31 to 26. These teams played hard and battled to the last seconds of the game to decide the win. Congrats to both on a successful season and hats off to BMW for a turn around season of 0 wins last season to a 7-1-2 season this year. #12 for Nederland B played superman to day and willed his team to victory with great help from his team.

BMW is my favorite to bring home the trophy even though they lost one game and that was to Vidor W. This tournament should be interesting because PNG & Nederland teams block well while other teams may have more speed it should come down to which team executes the best each game and coaching of course.

Unfortunately the kids miss out due to adults mishaps and decisions. The best teams should advance do to play and not technicalities, especially against teams from the same organization. Rules are rules I guess. JMO

Don't get me started.  That poor kid suffered for about 15 minutes before the medics were even notified.  Looked a cross the field, they were eating and texting and not answering their radio or even looked up to see people flagging them in.  Even when someone walked over to thell them, they moved VERY methodically to get over to help.  That slow walk took another 7 minutes.  I'm glad I gave those two boneheads an earfull when they walked by us...Smh

I also hope that kid is ok.  Hate to see a kid suffering....
