Bear is a man child. The best workouts are when nobody is watching. I'm glad he has a chip on his shoulder. Looking for an All District performance from him. I remember him as a pee wee ball player aka a Panther Cub. Keep working

Every kid should have an offensive & defensive position and come winning time the best 11 on bothsides should hit the field like you said! Always put your best foot forward!

Yes Sir, Pride & Tradition has to be taught & established at Ozen because Hebert was taken and given to become WB and then they tried to give it back. Ozen will never be Hebert but the Hebert alumni and Ozen alumni will have to instill this as they have kids now just entering high school after a 14 year exsistence.

I do agree that Central probably make deep runs in all sports! I really am a Central fan, I am Pear Orchard raised (Hebert High) and rep that Blue & Gold. I would love to see all of Beaumont Schools do well because my Alma mater is WB. Our kids are learning a few things on what they need to do to become consistent and dominant! Let's see how things go.

Looks like WB is loaded at the skill position. I remember coaching Cameron McKinney in Little League, glad to see him back in football, he's fast!

There are a lot of things that are rumored around BMT & Orange about recruiting, period. Some good & some bad but I love the attention S.E. Texas kids are getting from Colleges! Tobe is doing his thing over at Central and hats off to him, if he just stays in his lane and focus on doing the right thing, I believe he will have much success with his program. He has a load of talent at his disposal. Remember, this area was once the football capital of the world & this tradition seems to be back!

Lol, you know I'm happy for those young men, besides they were not any of Central or WB new recruits anyway! I guess I'll let ya'll make it this time but that was too funny to me to just pass up! Toby is doing a good job with his kids, if they could just stay out of Ozen's feeder schools, I promise to keep the jokes at a minimum! Anybody who looks out for kids development & furthering their education is really okay with me for the most part! Good Luck Jags & Bruins!

Not sure who they were at Ozen to see, but I know that Baylor has offered PJ Locke, and Houston has offered Locke, Mike Jacquet, and Devwah Whaley of Central.  I keep up with college football recruiting and a lot of times when colleges come to town to speak with the players they have offered they go to as many schools as they can while they are here to see if there are any other prospects.  Good luck to all!

My son will attend the SMU camp in June.   I will give updates on his recruitment.
This is exciting to see how his dream unfolds from a young 5th grader to now. His desire was to play for UT.  I said " you and every kid in America"(at the time) So, since the Summer before his 6th grade year we have tirelessly trained @ 6am, had two-a-days and discussions of his Future. We are just thankful someone is showing interest. God is definitely pouring out his Blessings  :)

It's wonderful to hear about all the possible future college prospects, I really think that we as a community need to better prepare our youth for what all it will take to be successful in obtaining their college degrees. They must understand that this should be primary as they will face daily competition equally to their talent or even better. Some will get discouraged, some will get caught up in the freedom of party life in college, while some will ignore deadlines of studying for test or preparing for papers that are due. No-one will be there to hold their hands and the reality of playing at the next level is a much further reach than obtaining that coveted college degree! I wish them all well as they represent themselves, their families, their schools/community and Beaumont as a whole! Let's Go Get 'Em! :)

I agree that it starts with youngsters and the elementary schools.  I know that Cherokee was the first song I learned the words to.  I was spelling S-P-I-R-I-T, F-I-G-H-T, I-N-D-I-A-N-S and V-I-C-T-O-R-Y way before any of my cousins and other friends outside of Port Neches. It's community involvement and support throughout.

We moved to BH two years ago from PNG. My kids to this day want to move back. They told us that they would rather graduate from PNG than BH. They started in Kindergarten at PNG and we lived there for a long time. It's hard to get the purple blood out of your system. lol Alot of it is a close knit community between Port Neches and Groves. The majority of kids and parents are close friends, they buy into the traditions already in place with new ones being made every year. My kids learned "Cherokee" in kindergarten. They send players, cheerleaders, Indian Spirit to the elementary schools for pep ralleys. The schools play a huge part as well because they push the spirit from high school to elementary. Those kids are counting down the days that they will be able to play for the high school whether football, baseball, basketball, Indianettes, etc.. There is no school district that comes close to the spirit of PNG. I have people in Barbers Hill that tell me they can't stand when Cherokee is played, but they think it's neat to watch the Indian Spirit dance and all of the traditions of PNG. That says alot when other schools admire your spirit and traditions, although they wouldn't admit it on here. lol :D

My kids went to Elementary school in Groves. They couldn't wait til Fridays to wear purple and hear Cherokee on the loud speakers. It started early over there. On Friday nights, the stadium is packed young and old. 3 years ago when PNG played Crosby in Crosby, they had more fans at the game than Crosby did. The entire community supports their teams. Outside Nederland, they were barbqueing and tailgating before the game. Fan base!!!
