;D ;D ;D ;D
Yes they did.  It was pitiful  My DD was on the sidelines yelling at them to quit being babies and get out there and play till the end. Last week they got too arrogant, this week they just give up.
The coach told the kids to do that... actually a play or two before that one the coach told to let them score, but the kids wouldn't do it!  The plan was to get the ball a possible TD and another onside kick attempt.
She was just mad because it seemed like they were giving up.  What was up with all the personal fouls? Everyone complains of them playing dirty, but I don't watch much football so I haven't learned to spot all that yet.
Who is everyone?  PNG... Manvel played a whole season before this label was attached to them. Take that rumor with a grain of salt.  As for La marque... 4 or 5 of the personal foul calls were on blocking calls on the kick offs and punts... there wasn't any dirty ball scuffling or anything going on... just too many mistakes.  Matter-of-fact our only true problem tonight was the La Marque Cougars.  We got beat fair and square.

 3. Congradulation to LaMarque, we loss twice to a team that is better than ours... REPRESENT 24-4A!!  You guys have a great squad!
 4. This should be a very good game.  Both are athletic, fast and coming out of very strong district.  Who ever is left standing at the end... Will have deserved it!
 5. We, Manvel saw the Willis episode on film also... It kinda prepared us to play a dirty team.  Maybe Willis pushed PNG to the max and that's how those kids are taught to react when getting their butts-kicked.  Maybe they were raised that way!   Like I said... We came to win a football game not a popularity contest.  Who cares what you think about Manvel.  You would have loved us if PNG would have won!  Grow up and accept defeat.  We can care less about a sore losers opinion.  You guys came to Baytown with a bag of tricks and 1000's of hypocrites... AND LOSS FAIR & SQUARE!   God loves us and that's plenty enough! Now to you real, mature PNG players & fans... Congradulations on a great season and I truly love what you bring to Texas High School Football.  The best atmosphere I have ever seen! And you are one game butt football team...
 6. I never said Dayton wasn't a good team.  I'm only stating that the schedule did not prepare you guys for a team like LaMarque!  That's basically what I'm saying.  I watched Dayton & Kingwood and I saw the talent you guys have.  You can only play your schedule... Totally understandable.

We have kept our composure and played very well.  They are lead by one of the best Christian coaches you can find anywhere.  He has touched these kids life with simply being fair.  My son came to Manvel from another powerful 24-4A school and we felt at home immediatedly.  I'm proud of the Mavericks, the staff, the band, the spirit that's came alive around here.  But honestly we came to win a football game not a popularity contest.  PNG kids realized that this will not be an easy game and start wining to officials begging for calls etc... Just watch the film!  Mavericks showed up to win, not to be intimidated by the PNG players nor the mass following sitting in the stands.  Now quit complaining and come route for the Mavericks against LaMarque.  You are welcomed to wear purple!
Again I ask have you "Watched the film?" ::) I love the fact that because our team is predominantly white, we are racist! ::) I would consider that a racial slur in itself!!! I have watched the film maybe 3 times... And I never brought up a race issue at all.

Getting beat happens to all teams.Manvel has been behind the woodshed this year also.Same thing happened to Manvel when they played Friendswood.Manvel couldn't keep up with Friendswood's quick strike offense.Receivers were to quick for Manvel to contain. Same thing last year. I agree!
10.
Last night was the best officiated game ive seen all year, but the Mavericks get no respect in my opinion because of how dirty the play was, they got it next week with Lamarque if their like the old Lamarque they are just as dirty and they always have athletes with speed, now that ive gotten that out,  i wanna go and say how proud and disappointed i am with the Indians, they played their hearts out in the 4th but played down to manvels game in the 3rd. I and many other fans around me were calling for # 42 to be benched after that penalty, we will be back next year and back in the thick of it. Go NDNs, peace, and scalp em
Played down to the Mavericks???
 11.
Should be a large crowd!!! Maybe a few hundred on each side???
Bring the PNG crowd to watch...
 12. I just watched the film... Dayton never had a chance! When you play a marshmallow schedule like that  and then have to face LaMarque you quickly realized the difference.  Look at the 24-4A schedule vs 19-4A Dawson vs. Crosby... 28-0 Dawson Manvel vs. Goose Creek ... 54-0 Manvel Santa Fe vs.  Barbers Hill ... 35-7 Sante Fe La Marque vs. Dayton ... 23-3 La Marque 24-4A vs 19-4A ... 140-10!  In four games I hope the LaMarque vs Dayton outcome didn't suprise anyone.  I thought they had a chance if Tim Wright was out... but he played and that lifts his entire squads confidence.
 13.
I thought the turning point was also in the 2nd half when they gave us 15 yard's and then #42 goes and give's them 30 yard's in penalty's and one of them was on a crucial 3rd down. The game changed after that drive. On the kickoff I was telling the people around me that we better watch out for an onside kick because #20 was playing in too tight and Manvel had 2 guy's lined up by the sideline's and that's what they did. After that it was like we quit until 6 minute's to go in the game. They made halftime adjustment's and we didn't. How do you constantly let a rb roam free out of the backfield? It happened over and over and their coaches took advantage of it. You can't give team's with that kind of speed too much space. We never made any adjustment's on defense. I've seen a defense this bad do as much talking as they have done all season. They did more talking than playing. I was sitting down low and we got lucky several time's for talking trash and then Manvel retaliated and got the 15 yard penalty instead. The diffence is they made us pay for our penalties and we didn't take advantage of their's. Manvel had several late hit's and got penalized for most them. Manvel's #12 is a pretty dirty player as he hit several people in the back or blind-sided people after the play. We had our on dirty play's. DJ got put on the ground and he retaliated with a full sprint to level the guy in front of the ref. Padia just flat out hit the guy with an upper cut to the n$ts and got ejected. So before we go on here talking trash on the other team's we better evaluate what we did. We were not angels out there! We knew that our offense would have to play flawless and they didn't and it put too much pressure on the defense that we would stuggle. I thought the defense had a couple of stops early and we didn't take advantage of it. The defensive scheme that our coordinator uses is horrible. We have an offensive genius and we are going to have to find new schemes oon defense or we will not be able to compete on defense.
Sounds good!
 14.
Friendswood may be "Tha Truth", but Montgomery is Tha Gospel. The Bears are gonna hit em' in the mouth, and Stangs won't be able to handle it.
GOOD ONE!  I can agree w/ your Montgomery statement... Friendswood just have a knack for pulling wins off!
 15. GO MAVERICKS!!  WE READY FOR YA'LL!!  HOKA HEY!!

How is the defense? Heard it's average. I picked Montgomery to win the region before the playoffs started so im sticking with it even though im a graduate of Friendswood.
Ask Pearland Dawson if they think the Defense is "average" First and Goal inside the five three times, denied... First and goal five times inside the the 10 yd line result two field goals. Yep average sounding to me.......
Montgomery defense is far from average!  I can assure you of that.
 17.
well it was a game to remember lol. It was nice to meet pngproud and ndnwarrior and the other fella, forgot who he was lol. Exciting game to say the least. tit for tat the whole game. The pic 6 early in the first was basically the back breaker when it came down to the end. The onside kick was something that i will never forget , a thing of beauty and it is something that must have been practiced on over and over and over, congrats to the mavs they have a very talented team no doubt, we hung in the first half but a quick score and then the onside which we were wanting to do to start the second half in the stands was brilliant. Then  the unanswered 35 points was just a little to much for the indians to overcome. I believe if we went for two every time we scored it might have been a different story. yall won the turnover battle and that was key. the overall team speed was very impressive. We got beat by the better team not gonna thrive too much on the personal fouls, we all know how that distirict is. it is probably the toughest in the state no doubt, nevertheless it was a great game, i want to say thanks to all the players, coaches, fans, the band and all the other high school football  teams out there for memories and games i was able to attend. It was a great year and was a bumpy ride no doubt, cant wait till next year it should be fun. Good luck to the mavs, dont think lamarque will show you no mercy next week though will be tough. As for the honkahey yell it all you want nothing wrong with supporting your team, again good luck to the mavs you have a very talented team.
Thanks... so does PNG!  The atmosphere they bring to the stadium is unreal!  I love it!  LaMarque beat us earlier in the season... and our team left there feeling they didn't adjust, tackle or take care of the ball well enough.  This time things will be different.  First and foremost the nuetral playing field!

Good Luck to Alvin going forward. To fatmav, the PF calls were not "bogus" on either side. The officiating crew actually called a very good game and I believe it was back to back PF calls on a PNG defender that was the swing in this game. For the first time all night PNG had pinned the Mavs back next to their own goal line on the opening kickoff of the second half and had made a couple of good plays on 1st and 2nd downs, when we made a couple of critical mistakes and Manvel took control of the game for the next 12 minutes. As far as pulling all the starters early, your coach did pull his starting QB for two plays, but #9 the TB that was tackled for the safety was in and out of the game all night. He was not some 4th string kid that never plays, and the starting O-Line was still in the game. Manvel was able to pull a PNG on us last night with it's depth. We tend to have better quality depth than most teams we play because we have large numbers in our porgram for a school with 1400 students. Last night Manvel was able to subtitute in and out all night and not skip a beat which helped to wear us down in the third Q. Gotta a little life in the fourth. Proud of our Young Men and our coaching staff. Gave us all another great year of exciting football and tons of memories. Couldn't ask for more.
I just so happened to know a little more about the the Mavericks line up than you, as my son been a starting defense for years now.  But we were just sitting here watching the film... and yes the 4th team O line and skill players were in the game.  Now you can argue that but look at the film and see who started and who was in when you guys made a run.  And what changed the game was adjustments, athletes and being the better team on the field.  No tricks and crying for flags... Just strapping up and punishing the opposition.
So your saying it was a good " CLEAN " game of football
I never said it was good clean game... but some to the calls were BS. Both teams were getting in exatrs, it's an emotional game.  But don't sit here and act like you guys were angels and you did nothin the whole game.  Futhermore, look at you guys film from past games... it was dirty play in those also.  I will say that it did not determine the outcome of the  game.  We were just better.
 19.
first of all let me say i know i don't have a dog in the fight but i figured a fresh prospective might help clear the air.  My team didn't make it to the playoffs but i enjoy watching hs football so i drove to baytown to watch this  game.  I'm not a fan of png or manvel,  i'm a fan of good football.   If i said that the calls for personal fouls were a little slanted i would be understating a fact.  Manvel got away with more than png did.  There were several call that I watched happen against png were retalitory on the behalf of png.  The fans on the manvel side were a bit over the top but it's hard to tell what all's going on from the png side when your sitting on the png side.  So i'll call that a wash.  However at no point did i EVER  see any players from png taunting the manvel side like i witnessed the manvel players doing.  not just one player but several throughout the game.  Nor did I see coaches jumping up and chest bumping during the game like the manvel coaches were doing.  Manvel no doubt has a good football program when it comes to running plays successfull, but i sure did leave with a bad taste in my mouth for the manvel program as a whole due to the lack of sportsmenship.  From the coaches all the way down to the players.  It honestly made me want them to loose and hope like heck that when they face the next opponet that they get some of their own medicine.  And i just wanted to watch a good game.  Thanks manvel, you showed me what to teach my kids not to grow up and be.
Watch the film... you'll change a lot of how you feel.

 21.
I'm very proud of the Indians. You are exemplary athletes. You never gave up last night, which is the true sign of a champion that exhibits profound characters. Hold your heads high and never look back. All 8,000 fans last night were seeing the HONOR....PRIDE .....TRADITION...of PNG played out beforeour very eyes. To each of you, I pray God's blessingsas you continue your respective journeys. You have made this INDIAN and thousands of others extremely PROUD. Peace.
NOW THAT'S WORDS OF HONOR!  YOUR TEAM IS A VERY GAME SQUAD! NO QUIT WHAT-SO-EVER... GAME TO THE BONE!  WHETHER MANVEL WOULD HAVE WON OR LOSS... THOSE WORDS RING THE TRUTH... GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE, BECAUSE WHEN THE MAVERICKS OR 24-4A ISN'T INVOLVED, I WILL BE ROUTING FOR PNG.  I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU GUYS BRING TO TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL.
