Where were all the halfway decent coaches before Barbay's arrival?...Sounds very simplistic to just go out and hire a "halfway decent coach" but last I checked no one really wants to play for a halfway decent coach when you already have better...

 

Folks don't need to look any further than about 25 miles to the south (Cleveland ISD) to see what happens when a superintendent and school board decide to run a good coach out of town....Check out George Ranch High Schools record the last few years to see what the coach they couldn't wait to get rid of has done..

What's going on in San Jacinto Co? Hearing strong rumblings that superintendent and school board are trying to force Barbay out.

Hearing that they're trying to take away the AD title and reassign. I guess theoretically he could still be the head coach but who'd stay around for a demotion in tile, authority & possibly paycut?

Somethings going on and unfortunately I think the kids and community are going to end up suffering in the end.

Given the problems COCISD has currently with meeting classroom standard why are they messing with one of the bright spots.

Outside of the football program (which Barbay resurrected) what other sport has been better than average?

Not really surprised by the final outcome once Tatum got out by 14+ points because CS can't run the ball as well as they have in past years. Couple that with the mistakes, penalties, etc against a team with comparable athletes and things got out of control.

As a fan I had hoped they could hit a few plays through the air to keep better teams from keying on the run but they weren't able to do enough to make a difference. Congrats to Tatum. They seem to be a talented & well coached team.

For some odd reason Tatum elects to try a field goal with less than 40 secs in game instead of taking a knee & CS hits kicker & returns ball about 80 plus yards for a TD. 2 pt try no good. Tatum 35-12. 38 secs left.

35-6 Tatum. End of 3rd. This one is over. All that remains to be settled is the final score and will CS finish the game with some class & composure.

Coldspring will have to play alot better on both sides of the ball if they're going to get back into this one.

Outside of the drive that was extended courtesy of the roughing the kicker penalty CS has not been able to move the ball on offense & sustain drives.
