Not to get into a UT/A&M debate here, but they are both pretty much in the same space right now. 10 years ago, no. Now, neither one have been real successful. Like Grad said, Roschon has had his heart set on going there, more power to him.

At one time they had the highest attendance numbers in the district, that was back when they first moved to 20-4a from 19. This was only 4 years or so after they opened.

Yes, but its an apples to orange comparison. WOS has only been around since '79. BMT WB and Central since '82. Ozen since '98 and PAM didn't start until 2002. PNG, NED and some other teams have been playing since 1925.

Nederland played them last year in non-district and will again this year. I know PNG has had them on the schedule as well. As far as 22-5a goes, losing a non-distict game because of the Livingston deal messed everyone up.

Does Nederland need new schools? Probably. Will they get them? Who knows , maybe next bond since the last one was pretty close to building two new ones. After all the upgrades that they just did to the existing ones, (which turned out pretty well I might add) it will probably be a few years. Still doesn't change the fact that NISD is one of the highest ranked in the area academically and has one of the lowest dropout rates. The fact that 99% of the tax base is small business and actual landowners as opposed to large refineries means the burden is on them as others have said. When they decide its time the bond will pass. Some of the local ISDs with large tax bases have proven time and again that money doesn't guarantee a good education. It is only one tool in the box.

Ok, I'm going to say this once and it applies to all, discussion of the game and calls are fine as long as it stays within the rules. Start bashing another city, team, players, other users on this board, or the umpires personally and you are going to get a vacation. End of story.

I will speak to the "D" word as far as Nederland goes. Having played (unfortunately ) for the previous two coaches and then going back and seeing Nederland practices after Neumann got there I will say it was a night and day change. The way the kids reacted to the commands and payed attention during practice was amazing to me. He commanded respect and got it ,and it showed on Friday nights. I think that is what you are trying to say about the new Central coach correct?

Yeah, I saw that after reading through the whole article. Nederland's alternative campus is discipline based but also offers classes for credits to students who are trying to catch up on credits.

AEP doesn't always work that way. Most kids may get a week or 2 in there depending on the infraction. Or , one Saturday. ( Not speaking from experience) Although this seems to be a little different than most Alternative campuses.
