  1. Ridge Point vs Crosby will be a dandy!!!  Friendswood over Hightower = #BracketBuster   Friendswood sure has gotten better as the season went along.  Calhoun started season 7-0 and losses last four, barely getting edged out in final minutes in last two games.  If Calhoun had a better defense they probably win last two games.  Good luck to all the teams tonight!!  (Including Crosby)  PN-G vs Dayton should be a dandy.  Wish I could be there.  Got my Believe sign on KHOU this morning with the kids.  Live broadcast from Longhorn gym this morning.  LOOOOONG day for the kids.  They were up here at 4:40.  Time to teach inequalities!!!  #AlwaysBelieve Toups

  2. Cougar 14.2....

    Lets see...  Fearless Predictions....
    Division I
King beats Central, Foster will get by Elkins, either Foster or Elkins will send CE King to offseason

I got Nederland beating New Caney (could go either way) GRHS will beat Ft Bend Bush   GRHS beats either Nederland or New Caney by at least a TD

    Division II
Dayton vs PN-G...  I will take Dayton (still some kids left who have been taught by the Jedi of Believe)    Texas City vs Angleton ....  I will take Texas City   I will take Dayton or PN-G over 1 dimensional Texas City, but wouldn't be surprised if Texas City advances.

Crosby vs Lumberton....   Crosby - 20 > Lumberton (EASY)     Ridge Point vs Calhoun - Calhoun finishes off the season with four straight losses.    Crosby vs Ridge Point winner will be in the semi-finals, easily the top two teams in division II.  Gotta feeling right now Crosby wins in a close one.  Ridge Point will be better than any team Crosby beat in Region III last year, but like you said, they aren't as good as last year.

Look for a 2-2 split in round 2, last year it was a 3-1 Ft Bend County

GRHS played a very spirited Calhoun team with lots of seniors playing their last home game.  GRHS defense came up at the end with a stop on a two point coversion.  Calhoun was able to get 3 plus yards on the full back dive consistently which kept the game close.  First time I have been to Calhoun, a great place to play Friday Night Lights.  They had their stands full, a small end zone section full, and they also had one section of the visitor sides full with fans.  Great environment.  To watch the game I made...

    Just my opinion.....
This years GRHS team is better than last years.  More defensive speed, and there are more weapons on offense.  This years QB can't run the ball like last year, but adds the passing component, and is pretty accurate.  GRHS held a very good Foster team to 9 yards of offense in the second half.  They held Lamar to 5 yards of offense through 3.5 quarters.  I got a GRHS vs Temple Quarter Final rematch in division I, with the winner of the Crosby vs Ridge Point Game going into semis.

A tad bit of humility will do you wonders, good luck to Crosby nation.

  3. I'm putting it out there right now. If Dayton can stay/get healthy and doesn't draw Texas City in the 2nd round I think they can go three deep with the squad they have. Coach and all.

Crosby beat Angleton 34-0, they just played a good 31-14 game against George Ranch where the score probably doesn't indicate how close the game was. I feel very good about the strength of 21-5A going forward.

In regards to the GRHS vs Angleton game.  Angleton scored to tie the game 14 -14 to begin the 3rd quarter.  After that they got two first downs.  GRHS DOMINATED Angleton in the second half.  Could have easily been 42-14.  Angleton's defense did stop GRHS three times on 4th down, that hasn't happened since I started working with GRHS.

Fact is...  The only team left playing after round 2 from 21 and 22 5A will be Crosby.  GRHS and Foster should sweep Ridge Point and Elkins this year (Ridge Point and Foster aren't near as good as they were last year and Foster and GRHS are probably a little better).  Don't see New Caney, Nederland, CE King, or Central beating GRHS or Foster.  Don't know if Crosby gets Calhoun or Texas City in Round two (likely draws).  Don't know if the winner of the Dayton PN-G game would fare up.  Dayton's defense seems to have played better against Crosby.  If Dayton or PN-G could get past round 2, they would very likely go four deep.
Don't know if this is a possibility, but....  If FB Marshall somehow gets into the playoffs (don't know if they won this weekend) that would put Elkins into division 2.  That would be a HUGE shake up in the playoff brackets.  Was talking to some of my coworkers tracking the playoff match ups, and they were talking how Elkins could play in the second string when they play Marshall this year, just to help Marshall get in so Elkins would be in Division 2.  Don't know if that scenario will end up happening, but if you were the head coach, knew you were in the playoffs, and that if your opponent beat you, you would be in the much weaker division 2, would you throw the game and rest your starters?

Good luck to the teams in SETX.  Hopefully yall stay healthy and get ready to make some noise in the playoffs.

  4. Calhoun is ranked in some polls.  Calhoun is had and shoulders above any other team in division 2 on the west side of Houston.  Look for George Ranch, Foster, and Calhoun to be three of the four teams the SETX 5A districts will play in round 2.  As far as Crosby goes....  Looks like Calhoun and Crosby are the tops in division 2 yet again.  Still have four weeks of football until the playoffs, anything can happen.

I know I am way away from deep SETX sports land, but what a game Friday in Rosenberg.

After George Ranch goes up 7-0, Foster dominates the game until half time, forcing George Ranch into 3 straight 3 and outs. Halftime it is 21 -7 Foster.

George Ranch drinks some "miracle juice" at halftime, makes adjustments, and turns super hero.  Foster only had NINE YARDS of offense in second half, getting only one first down.
George Ranch reels of 28 straight points and comes from behind to go 6-0.  HS Football fans will enjoy the video (link above).

The community is learning of who I am now, it is just AWE-some!!!  Good luck to Dayton, Keep on winning PN-G!!!  Looks like a second round game with either of you isn't going to happen due to enrollment numbers.

Look for Foster and George Ranch to win in the first round this year, probably against Elkins and RIdge Point again.  Division I winners of SETX 5A districts will face these two schools in the Area Round.

Missing the smack talk and football talk back from the East side of Houston to the Sabine.

    Enjoy the video.
    God Bless

  6. Is this game being played in West Orange? Friday night George Ranch plays ( crushes ) Nuevo Leon at Traylor Stadium in Rosenberg.  If the game is Saturday or Thursday at Traylor, I just might go watch.

Good luck to the Stangs.  You get better by playing better teams.  Foster is "supposed to be" better than last year.  Picked by many to topple George Ranch of the District Championship hill.  From what I have seen from George Ranch, the Longhorns might be a little better than last years team.  GRHS plays Foster in two weeks to open district play.  Should be a dandy.  Last two GRHS vs Foster games Houston Rocket Dwight Howard (who lives in Rosenberg) showed up and sat with the GRHS students.  #GoodTimes

  7. Last game for GRHS, with 2:24 left in first quarter against Katy Morton Ranch, the score was 28-0 GRHS.  Morton Ranch had the ball four times probably had 10 yards of offense.  Second string was playing second quarter for GRHS.  Looking forward to the road trip.  Been YEARS since I have driven past Jeff Jeff Jefferson City, down Twin City to the old TJ High School.  Can't wait to see the redone field.  Last time I was at the field there was still end zone sections.  GRHS is trying to fill two charter busses with students and parents.  Hopefully they can fill them up and get a few hundred people in the stands.  The "Believe Factor" returns to Jefferson County and the GRHS Longhorns stampede to 4-0 by defeating their 4th 6A team in a row by double digits..

  8. P4E that's saying something after you video taped an All American AJ Dugat several years@Dayt

Exactly....  AJ probably a better all around player, I don't think Darius could be a better receiver that AJ, but some of Darius runs have just been WOW factor to the extreme, very similar to AJ.  Both of them could break it on any play.  As Coug 14.2 said, Darius usually has one cut back, if he breaks through the first wave, he is probably gone.  Just great instincts.  Really neat to video such great talent.

  9. GRHS has beaten three 6A schools ALL by double digits.
Dawson and Friendswood are probably going to the playoffs in 6A and both were given a woodshed beating by GRHS.

After Friday, it will probably be four 6A opponents beaten by GRHS all by 10 plus or more points.

All credit to Crosby for making it to the finals last year, but division II was there for the taking.  Foster, Ridge Point, Elkins, and GRHS all could have taken out Crosby last year, just ask CE King what it was like when they met up with Ridge Point.

Sounds like Crosby has ALOT of their talent back.  Their baseball team last year was VERY GOOD!  One thing I noticed over here in FT Bend County.  Hardly NO ONE plays both ways.  When it comes to linemen and receivers / D Backs, that is huge come playoffs.

  10. Rooting for GR and #6 Fontenot

Nephew on a mission to get that starting rb spot.

I see Ranch getting 300 yards ground and pound.

Fontenot has had two OUTSTANDING games!!!  Don't know if GRHS will play Darius Anderson this week or not.  Fontenot is AWE-some, but Darius Anderson is just #UNBELIEVABLE.  Hoping the PA fans will be able to see the talent of Darius, he just has an instinct on when to cut back like no other running back I have videoed.  Got a strong feeling GRHS by double digits.  In less than 10 minutes against Katy Morton Ranch the score was 28 - 0.  GRHS was playing a lot of backups in the second quarter and on.  Looking forward to driving down Twin City HWY to the stadium.  My guess is Jeff Jeff Jefferson City, doesn't have everything under the sun anymore...  See you guys Friday, I will be the guy with the Maroon Pentagon T hat on videoing.
